As the sun was setting, Chipo was resting in some shrubs watching the sunset. She tried watching it most nights, but sometimes missed it because she was sleeping. This night it was amazing. It was pretty windy outside and heard things move in the night like trees swaying. Chipo wasn't too skittish though and knew there wasn't much to worry about.

As Chipo rolled over onto her other side, she heard a strange rustle nearby. Figuring it was probably a rodent or something, she ignored it and keep gazing at the orange and red sky.

Chui yawned, having just woken up from his nap. It was probably not a good idea to sleep so late into the afternoon, but it was something he could hardly keep himself from doing. He was so....bored. The leopard stretched out, then began walking into the jungle. He pushed his head through a particular bush, as he smelled something off that day. It was an unfamiliar scent, and he was cautious.

But...even that could stop the leaves from rustling, and he gasped and retracted his head. "Shoot, almost got caught.." he whispered, then he carefully went around the bush instead, trying to look as innocent as possible. Chui turned his head and saw a white hyena, simply resting nearby. He cocked a brow and cleared his throat.

"Good evening.." he greeted.

Chipo heard the bush rustle once more and this time it didn't sound like the wind. Turning around quicky, she noticed a golden-coated cat. The cub didn't quite look like a lion. It looked different. She didn't want to be rude and ask about it though. "Hey there." Chipo smiled at the small feline. "Isn't this so beautiful?" She asked, talking about the sunset she admired.

Chui tilted his head suspiciously and said nothing for a while as he took a seat nearby. "It's nice, yes. But I see it everyday...." he finally replied. It was true. Because he napped at mid-afternoon, he was always wide awake for sunset. The leopard yawned again, then looked back at the hyena. "So who're you?"

The hyena saw it a different way. Even though the sunset was there every night, it was still marvelous. She figured youngins like him don't understand the simple things in life. "Oh sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Chipo." She smiled sweetly. "And you are...?" She asked the cub, stepping a little closer.

"Chui, nice to meet you," he replied curtly. He was always a little irritable right after he woke up, and that fact was now just surfacing. It was one of the reasons he didn't go visit Miles at this time, after all. Chui took a seat, eyes still meandering about the oh-so familiar jungle that he'd gotten to like so much. It was a little different to see hyena in it, but...well, new things were always bad anyway. And she seemed pleasant enough.

"Thanks. Umm... are you okay?" The albino hyena asked sheepishly. It seemed as though the leopard male was a bit ticked. Chipo hated when people were upset and usually tried keeping the mood light. But then when Chipo glanced at the other closer, she noticed his eyes seemed a bit dull... like he was tired. She figured he might have been cranky from being sleepy or something.

The male glanced back the hyena, a small smile then gracing his currently dull expression. "No, no I'm fine. Just a little tired," he said. Chui stifled a yawn and stood up, walking a little closer to Chipo to keep himself awake. "So...what brings you to the jungle?" he asked, wondering what they could possibly talk about.

Chipo found out she was correct. He was infact tired, which was better than the alternative that he was upset. Chipo noticed Chui yawn and ask a question. "Ahh... I'm just around I guess. I don't really have anyone to hang by or family to live with, so I'm just... around." Chipo didn't even have many friends yet, if any. She hadn't really gotten close to anybody, but she wasn't going to say that and sound like a loser. She had met a cat though that was quite different looking from Chui by the name of Matokeo. "So why are you in the jungle?" Chipo asked politely.

"It's my home," Chui replied almost immediately, tail swishing from side to side as he calmly watched the hyena. Strange creature.. he thought to himself, his head tilting a bit, thinking it would give him a different perspective on her. It didn't, and he merely shrugged off the thought. "So...have any family?" he asked suddenly, not really knowing what to say. The silence that had drawn on between them made him oddly uncomfortable, and that was something the leopard could hardly bear. He stood and took a few more steps forward until he was only a foot or so away from her. Chui had always thought it'd be rude to hold a conversation from too far away, so this was his way of being polite. Most would consider it strange, though.

Chipo eyed at how close he got to her, but didn't want to be rude and step away. "Well, it's a very lovely home.", the hyena replied. She loved how there was tons of vegatation that was clustered everywhere giving it a safer feeling. The greens made it beautiful also. Maybe the jungle would become Chipo's home too? "Uhh... I haven't really got any family that I know of. My parents were both killed by lions... at least that's what I heard. Not sure if that's the real story or not. Ever since I was a pup though, I was taken care of by a jackal. She also died quite recently. Maybe a month ago? But at least she taught me everything to know about living out here, right?" Chipo figured that's just how life goes. You live, you die and the circle of life goes on. "What about you? Do you have any family?", she asked sounding cheerful.

He frowned and sighed, shaking his head a little in response. "No.." came his voice, silent and a bit sad. "I don't have any family. At least...not any direct family. I met a cheetah a long while back whom I consider family. It's the closest I've got," and with a smile he finished, "And I'm happy with my family being just him." Chui moved a little closer, noting her previous nervous look when he did the first time. This time he moved only a bit, knowing that if he went any further it might make her too uncomfortable.

"I never knew my direct family, so I basically learned as I went.." the young leopard said with a chuckle. "It was definitely easier, what with the shelter of all these leaves and trees and stuff.."

"Well, I haven't gotten close to anyone enough to consider family yet I guess. I'm sure I will someday though." she told Chui with a slight sigh. "But that's cool that we have something similar about us I guess." she perked up. Chipo noticed how he got a tad closer even more and just eyed him once more. She wondered why he kept getting closer to her, but would have felt awkward asking. She wasn't used to being this close to someone else physically.

"Yeah. I suppose it is." Chipo agreed, giggling a bit. The shelter from the sun and such was wonderful in the jungle and Chipo really didn't want to leave it. She never really heard of any other hyenas living in jungles though. She figured she'd just have to find out eventually some day. If she found no hyenas here, she'd just have to go in search of some. Afterall... she'd want at least a couple friends of her own kind.

Again, she looked at him oddly when he moved forward, so he decided that this was close enough. He was already in conversing distance, after all, so it wasn't so bad. "It's not a great thing that we have in common, but I guess so..." he replied. He didn't like admitting that he didn't have any family, but there wasn't much he could do about that anymore. Not like he could bring them back...nor turn back time for that matter. He sighed, but pushed the thoughts of his family to the back of his mind.

"So you're just passing through?" he asked, taking a seat and getting comfortable where he was. His eyes moved to the sunset just beyond Chipo, a small smile spreading itself across his maw. "You picked a great spot to rest though..." he mused, his interest in the sunset going up the more he looked at it. It was lonely yet....strangely comforting at the same time. A strange feeling...

Chipo just listened to Chui and nodded in agreement. It wasn't the greatest thing in the world to not have family. You have no connections, others to look up to, or others to love you unconditionally. She figured that one of these days she would make a good friend or something and they would become her family. But it is unknown to what the future holds, so she decided to not think about that right now.

"Yeah, pretty much." she replied. Chipo was more out on a search to find others to become friends with and possibly find a permanent home. Then again... Chipo liked traveling also, so she wasn't totally sure as to what she wanted to do yet.

"Thanks." Chipo grinned, looking back to the sunset she was watching a little earlier. The albino hyena watched the purples and pinks form and admired them.
