Candy Canes!!! The original kind!
Candy canes actually have a history in Christianity!
When a candy cane was right side up it looked like a shepard's staff (symbol for the shepards that visited baby Jesus), and when turned upside down it was in the shape of a J for Jesus. It was white as a symbol for the purity of Mary & Jesus. Later the red stripes were added as a symbol for the blood Jesus shed at his Crucifixition. The fact that it was a hard candy was actually a symbol for the hard foundation (faith & belief wise) of the Church.

The origin of the candy canes is kinda argued about. Father said they were made by a candy maker in Indiana, but I found that supposedly French priests would make the candy and give them to children.

XD I found this out during the homily of the children's mass on Christmas. After Father finished telling the kids (cause at the Children's Christmas Mass all the kids are invited to gather in front of the alter & on the steps & Father talks to them primarily.) the store one of the boys raised his hand and went "What about the green and yellow Candy Canes?" The entire congregation laughed and Father just stared at the boy (he was trying to look serious what it was obvious he thought it was hilarious) before saying "WE're talking about the real candy canes, not the other kinds."
