Yes, Rent is one of the shows that has been canceled until further noticed due to the Broadway strike. Please read for details as to what the strike is about:

ugh, i really hope that this strike's over soon.

according to the ny times, twenty-seven shows are closed and only eight shows are open.

i really feel for the actors and musicians since they're not getting paid, but i'm still not sure if i feel terribly bad for the stagehands.

I heard about this, it makes me sad.

I hope the stage-hands strike in Broadway doesn't have an effect in other places like Chicago or LA.

Wicked is on tour but they've been cancled as well, meaning even the shows on tour are affected, meaning RENT might not even go to Tokyo for Christmas as scheduled.

Ugh.
This strike sucks.
I love Rent too much for it to stop.

all the broadway shows that are shut down will be shut down until tomorrow. hopefully negotiations are going on as we speak, so by Tuesday the 27 shows that are closed will be allowed to reopen. :]

I only heard that "The Grinch" was back because it's Christmas time. I didn't hear that anything else was being opened. *crosses fingers* Come on, end this madness!

I thought the strike was pretty much over now? Anyway from what i heard about the technical reasons behind the strike once they get things settle i think it will only serve to make broadway shows cooler... Once I heard the technical stuff behind it i'm supriesed they didn't strike sooner...
