What a BEAUTIFUL day.
The thought was in her mind and displayed on the young cubs face in a pleasent smile as she splayed herself over a rock in a relaxed manner, cubs stretched out infront of her as her light blue eyes wandered over the sun kissed Pride Lands. Beauty couldn't have had a better name than home, because right now, everything couldn't have been more perfect. The sun was shining with brief cloud cover intervals, it wasn't harshly warm as it was on some days and everyone in the pride seemed quite content.
Yes, everything was perfect. It had to be said the girl was lacking the opportunity for an intellectual chat with someone her age, cubs right now were too busy eating, sleeping and playing...granted, she did that too. But she enjoyed talking about why things were the way they were, why ones who died went to stars and other things...still...today was a nice day. Nothing was going wrong. No one was fighting. Yes, today was a good day. And it nothing would change that.

Oh, something could and would change that, no doubt, for as Abrafo padded, he decided he was bored. Nothing good ever came out of such a fact or situation, really, as most of the nannys and caretakers he'd had the so called 'pleasure' to meet had decided. Whenever Abrafo was bored, things tended to twist and derange into utter and complete immaturity.
Now, of course, Abrafo actually prided himself in that fact, so thus indicating this was not about to stop any time soon. Boredom made him trot about the land, his nose wiggling in the air till he caught the scent of that what he was looking for; someone to play with. In his mind it didn't really matter whether this 'plaything' was male or female; if male, he'd hang out with the cub! If female, he'd do that what he'd found he enjoyed most - he'd tease the living daylights out of her. As it was, today seemed to be his lucky day, for there up ahead lay a small, cute lil girl, and as he approached, Abrafo did little to nothing to hide the smirk that tugged at his maw, "Lazy cat-nap?" he purred as he approached her, peering down at her form, "Lazy... girls are always so lazy," he said with a roll of his eyes.
Never mind the fact that around mid-morning he too could be found sunbathing. That had nothing at all to do with this, "Gonna burn up if you stay there; I've heard of lions that have roasted right up! And burnt up in the sun, from cat-napping and sunbathing!" he actually went as far as making a gurgling, popping noise; a fizzling, as if imitated something frying. A pause followed after which he gave her a critical eye, "You're ugly," he said rather bluntly, blinking, "And scrawny," he didn't actually believe either of said claims, but really, it wasn't about what he believe; it was all about how they reacted.
He was bored. He wanted a reaction.

Well that had certainly put an end to the peace, as she lay there and the male spoke, her ear swivelled towards him slowly followed by a face that said 'You're stupid and I pity you for it'...her face practicly screamed it and as she rose to her paws she couldn't help but glare up at the sky.
"I did say 'intelligent' conversation, y'know?" As if questioning the ancestors choice of playmate that she'd have for today. That it before sitting herself up on the rock and watching him with her bright blue eyes, a slender feminine brow arched at him as he listened to his words. At his lazy comment she couldn't help but chuckle.
"This coming from one member of the gender who will eventually grow up to let the ladies get food for him?" Even if this male was going to be annoying, she could atleast throw back some of his hurtful insults back at him. Not really caring if they were below the belt either and continuing to listen to his words.
His next set of words made her cringe and stick out her tongue.
"Eww! You're gross and besides that SO doesn't happen!" She then narrowed her eyes. "And say it, don't spray it, spritzy!"
Up until this point she had to say she'd been pretty calm...until his last two comments atleast. The cub suddenly jumped up onto all fours as she spat at the male like a wet cat.
"Atleast I'm not a big, smelly dullard!!!" She growled at him. "Who the Hell do you think you are anyway!?"

Smirking, the male licked his maw, "As far as I know, there's a ton of male hunters in the pridelands, 'sweet-cheeks'," the final word was said with such a mocking tone to it that it was more of an insult than a compliment, really, a paw waving in the air. She was getting irritated, he could tell; the way she moved, the seething... it was all oh-so-familiar, and Abrafo thank the gods for giving him something entertaining to do, "Actually, if I'd wanted to spit on you, I would've, you dumb-face," he said, choosing that moment to regurgitate saliva into his mouth, spitting to the side, his eyes narrowing as his smirk grew.
By the time he'd reached the 'ugly' and 'scrawny' insults, she was fighting back at, causing him to chuckle lightly, "Oi, you should do as your preach," he lifted a paw, barring himself from her spitting and hissing a brow arching into the black fuss that fell over his forehead, signaling the beginning of a mane, "And I happen to think being big is a bloody advantage, thank you very much, as far as the smelly..." he leaned in to sniff at his pelt, then, amusingly enough, leaned in to smell hers, a long swift wisp, "You ain't all that fresh either, so really, ain't got much to say about that, have you?" he sneered then, taking a step back to look critically down at her.
All in all, he was happily amused, it showed, "Abrafo, if you must know; you?"

Suddenly she was feeling less intelligent and upward bound than she'd felt earlier, she was a cub, she knew her knowledge of the world was limited...but still...to have someone abuse their own knowledge against her got her quite frustrated. And as he spoke his name, she thought this the perfect chance to act civil and she straightened herself up and cleaned her paws.
"Uru." She said bluntly, bright blue eyes narrowed at him as she sat there, tail wrapped around her large cub paws as she watched him. The cocky...well...the word was on the tip of her tongue but being a lady she didn't bring herself to say it, she'd heard the adults say it once and didn't know what it was till her father explained. So she swallowed it back inside herself.
"Don't you have anything better to do than bother people for no reason other than your apparent humour?" She asked, ears flattened back.

He didn't hate her. Not really. In fact, it was safe to say that Abrafo had never met or seen anyone that he actually hated; the word 'hate' didn't seem to be in his vocabulary, which was... amusing to note, given the current situation. A situation that quite easily mirrored almost all other ones he'd been a part of, at least where females were concerned. For some odd reason beyond him, he rather liked teasing them; especially when they snapped back at him like this one was.
Fiery. Spunky.
He liked that. Of course, in due time, and once he matured enough, he'd come to notice that it was their attention he seeked; his mind, immature as it was, saw teasing them as the only way to get it at the current moment. After all, he was young, and any other form of dealing with female was out of the question, not to mention perfectly out of the realms of his thoughts. That'd change in time, but for now this seemed to work, "Uru," he chuckled lightly, almost as if the name were funny to him, "Like that; kinna like Oro, 'xcept not!" someone somewhere had once told him that 'Oro' meant gold, "Someone once nicknamed me that; Oro, 'cause it means gold," these last few phrases had slipped almost without him meaning to; he looked almost thoughtful, proving that he in fact DID have a brain, and COULD be polite if he wished to. He just... usually picked the other road.
A pause followed, after which he waved his paw, blinking out of whatever daze he'd been in, smirking over at her as he pressed his face forward; he was aiming to press his nose to hers as he talked, "Not really, lovey; got nothing to do, I'm bored, and you're here," he mouthed with a taunting, mocking tone, expecting her to jump right back at him like a spring, "Add it all up; you've got my attention."
Which could be a good thing.... or a bad thing. It depended on what she did with it. Would she pounce him and continue the 'fight'? Or would she turn away primly and walk away, allowing him to keep his win? "So? What'll it be?" of course, he'd voiced the last few words as a question, regardless of the fact she couldn't read his mind to understand what he meant, but perhaps the implication would let her know regardless of the fact

The female sat there and watched him, a rather stern look sketched on the young cubs face as she never took her light blue eyes off him. After that earlier show of immature teasing, she dared not incase he would try and do something more. It made Uru on edge and she didn't like it one bit. So she was more than a little suprised as he actually began to be more civil with her, ears perking up from where they'd flattened against her skull and she listened curiously to him.
Gold? Hmmph, it suited him and she smirked slightly as she arched a brow.
"Gold huh? With how blinding your pelt is I'm no suprised people would call you that." She said, however in her mind she mentally rolled her eyes. It was just a shame such a pelt belonged to such a thick headed male. And she was soon sighing with frustration once more as he started with the pet names and the mocking tone once more, ears flattening against her smooth head once more as she glared slightly at him.
What was it that made her want to act so savage towards this male?
Maybe the fact that he could act civil, but he chose not too...what was up with that!?
As his final question was asked she simply stared at him, lifted a paw nimbly, licked it once, twice, placed it back onto the smooth stone and then stared back towards him. "You're really bored aren't you? If you're bored, why not go bother your mommy and daddy and stop bothering people who actually have a brain." She asked, brow arched as a thick, mocking tone like his laced her own voice and she awaited a response.

"Pretty goddamned bored, yup," the smirk that tugged at his maw was rather insolent as he peered down at her, a brow arching as his tail flicked, brushing against her side accidentally before it curled about his legs, "And nah," he wrinkled his nose in mild consternation, "Bugging your parents ain't even half as fun," offering a somewhat blank expression his features twisted into an expression that clearly read D'uh at her.
A pause followed, during which he shifted his position, growing pensive again, offering her the fact that yes, he could in fact be civil if pushed down the right road. It was simply that usually... others pushed him the wrong way; Abrafo was, in fact, rather smart. Or rather, he could be, if given the chance. Needless to say the chance... didn't rise very often, for the male cub rarely paused for even a split second to ponder what he was doing; he was driven by passion and his blood, and later on in life, it'd prove to not exactly rush... in the direction of his brain, "Yeah well, pridelander here, love, what'd you expect?" a brow arched again, as if what he'd said were the most obvious thing in the world, "It's kinda a trademark I hear, hmmmm? And quite damn proud of it too," he stood then, turning about himself, his green eyes looking upon his pelt before he stopped, and nodded once, almost as if to confirm his own words, "My pelt's extremely awesome, thank you very much!"
A pause, and then a smirk as he leaned in forward, pressing his nose only briefly against hers, "Like I said, it's much more fun to bother prim people that think they're above the rest, when they're obviously NOT," it was clear that if she was going to be-lithe him, he was going to mock her right back, without any sort of shame, "Brain? Huh! Says the girl who didn't know MALES hunted; that's pretty damn stupid, if you ask me. Not such a big know-it-all, are you?" he chuckled, having obviously taken absolutely no offense in her words, turning them around on hers, "Obviously, the fact you don't have a brain, or don't appear to be using it, makes it legit for me to bother you!" he smirked, leaning away, "Do onto others as you wish they do onto you, Uru," of course, it was amusing to note he'd left off the nicknames... and gone for her name.
Which was indication of... something. It was hard to tell just what though.

This males language made her ears twitch slightly, how annoying and not to mention rude as she looked at him as a brow was raised towards the golden male curiously.
At his mention of the prides trademark pelts and how 'extremely awesome' his own was, then she furrowed her brows before looking down at her own, chocolate brown pelt. She had her fathers pelt along with her mothers markings and eyes, she and her siblings were all great mixes of their parents. The female felt quite proud of her dirt coloured fur and she smiled softly before lapping over said fur. "It is a very nice pelt." She stated, not exactly agreeing to his words as she sat there.
However, as the nose of this male briefly pressed against her own, she froze, her fur standing on end as she watched him for a few minutes before quickly rubbing her nose. She was just a cub, so things like that just creeped her out! And it grew worse as he taunted her about her lack of knowledge on the fact that the males hunted, to which she pursed her lips slightly at him.
"If you haven't noticed, I'm a cub, pretty damn hard to see what goes on when you have to stay by your moms side the majority of the time." She said bluntly, yes, her words made sense, ofcourse they made sense. But as he claimed her lacking a brain, she wrinkled her muzzle back slightly. "This coming from a male who claims lions can sizzle up like slowly evaporating water in the hot sun!? Ha!"
Finally she sat there, turning her back to him as she stuck her nose in the air...turning around briefly to wonder why he'd suddenly decided to say her name.

"Of course it is!" he spoke as if ignoring the fact she didn't seem to agree with him, except there was a hint of sarcasm to his tone, indicating he HAD indeed noticed... he was simply choosing to ignore it, as if she simply did not know any better.
A snort was blown through his nose, his head tilting up to glance down at her, "News break, kid; I'm barely older than a cub myself, and /I/ knew. That's no excuse. There's no excuse for ignorance," a sneer marred his maw upon reaching that point, the male shaking his head slightly, as if to rid his lack-of-a-mane of dust, "At least, there's no excuse for ignorance coming out of a cub whom thinks herself smarter, and better than the rest," the words were offered with such sarcasm and taunting that it practically dripping from them.
Waving his paw almost dismissively, Abrafo rolled his eyes, "Kid, before you act so high, mighty and all-knowing, learn to know the difference between a joke and tease from a fact, kay?" he watched her as she sat down primly, sticking her nose in the air, and slowly, he poked her shoulder, tilting his head to look over it and at her, disregarding personal space, for after all, he was too young to give mind to it, or ponder about it, and if it'd creeped her out before, he was all for doing it again, "You've just done it again, Uru."
Again her name, his body retreating slightly to offer her the much needed space again, "Gosh, and they say we ain't prone to tripping over the same rock twice; they've not met you, have they? Can't get it outta your pretty lil head that you're not the princess of the world? Geez... that brain you're so proud of won't get you anywhere if you look down on everyone," the tone had changed there; it was no longer taunting, or sarcastic... it was almost as if he'd been talking to a sibling, or perhaps another male. A friend maybe? Someone he'd become fond of? Hard to say.

The female just sat there, not looking at him...for a while, she had to look at him when he'd suddenly decided to invade her personal space and raised her brow at him in suprise. She could tell a joke from a fact...she could! And she finally turned to him, paws stamping slightly on the rock as she stood there staring up into his eyes as she narrowed her own light blue orbs, if one wasn't so sure she was looking right at them, one might've assumed she was blind. Far from the truth, she could see just find.
"First off, I don't think of myself as a princess and personally I hope I'm never treated like one!" She stated bluntly as she stared at him. "And second of all!...."
Slowly her expression changed, ears drooping slightly as she sat back down on her little rump and she sighed heavily.
"You're right...I don't know everything...and...I shouldn't expect too...but...but I just don't want to be looked down at and picked on or be just another lion who blindly accepts things before looking more closely at things."

Her first reaction was anticipated, and met with a smirk as she burst into a yell; of course he knew she didn't want to be treated like a princess. This one was a lil spit fire. A tomboy if he ever saw one; calling her that had been an insult in a way, to see if she took the bait. Which she had, indeed. However... the second reaction was not quite as expected, and the male found himself blinking as Uru slumped down on the ground, her head low and her ears flopping to the side. She looked...
... defeated.
Instantly, he decided he didn't quite like that. In fact, he'd decided he didn't like that at all, yet hadn't this been the objective of his little crusade in the first place? He frowned then, an expression of mild concern and perhaps just a tad of annoyance, more at himself than her, really; no, he decided, that had not been the object. The objective had been to amuse himself, not to break someone. Specially not a girl. Yet that was what he'd a accomplished, and he was surprised to note he wasn't all that happy with the results. So thus, he did what his instincts told him to do; set out to fix the wrong.
"Awww, come on now," he refrained from using her name, or even a nickname as he addressed her, his paw coming to pat her back rather awkwardly, his brows knitted, "None of that; I dun think anyone's looking down on you. I just like teasing others... and sometimes others make it way too easy for me; dun mean I think you're below," a smirk was offered as he retreated his paw, "In fact, I think you're rather cool," a pause, "For a girl anyhow... specially if you're willing to note your mistake. We've all got them," the smirk never left his maw as he arched his head up, striking a pose, "We can't all be as awesomely handsome, and with such an overflowing personality as mine; we've all got crosses to bear," this last however, was not said in the same teasing tone he'd used before; it wasn't aimed to harm her. In fact, it was meant to make her crack a smile.
C'mon... gimme that winning smile I just know you own.
Granted, it wasn't voiced, but the thought was there, and had she looked at his eyes, or features, she'd have been able to read him like an open book; it paid to be as expressive as Abrafo was.

Uru was feeling really low about herself, did she really look down at people? Her ears seemed to droop even lower as a small sigh escaped her and she briefly turned her head to look at him, bright blue eyes filled with a small ammount of curiousity for his sudden change of tone. So...he really was a nice guy....he just liked to tease others? Well then, that made a lot of sense.
As his paw touched her back she arched a brow curiously, sniffing slightly as she listened to his words carefully and her small ears rose with her brows almost in shock at his words...she was cool? The words were touching and at the end of his speech she couldn't help but crack a little smile and a chuckle.
"Yeah, I guess we can't all be perfect." She said, voice chokey slightly before she cleared her throat loudly, swallowing as she then looked back at him. Even if he was a total jerk a few moments ago...she had to say, he was being a real sweet heart...as sweet hearts go atleast. And she smiled more so at him as she sat there. "Thanks...you're really cool..."

And... the situation was slow derailing out of his control. As Uru lowered her head further, her ears following motion, Abrafo felt a tinge of panic; just the tiniest of tinges, and just for the briefest of moments he considered gripping her, saying he was sorry and running for the hills before it was too late.
Too late for what?
The thought clouded his mind, making his features twist into confusion; thinking wasn't really helping. But then again, thinking never really helped. He was used to going by instinct and instinct was telling him that he might've won the battle, but this girl was slowly getting the upper hand and was just about ready to win the war. And the worst thing was she had absolutely no idea. A wince followed the though; it was a mild blow to his ego, however, the motion was so brief it was barely even there. It was probable the female missed it entirely, what with the fact she was occupied doing other things; like telling him he was cool too.
And smiling.
She'd smiled, "That's the smile I was looking for, see?" of course, he was barely aware he'd not voiced the fact he'd wanted to see it; that it'd been a thought, alas, that much was in the past. For the time being anyhow, "Errr..." a paw reached to rub the back of his own neck awkwardly, his head turning to look away because honestly she couldn't have just embarrassed him by dishing forth such a mild compliment, had she? Except she had; sure, Abrafo was used to being overconfident, and saying he was cool... saying he was on top of the world. He'd just noticed that dishing it wasn't the same as receiving it; receiving a compliment fel oddly good. And it was embarrassing in a good way, "Yeah I know; I said so already!" turning his head back towards her, he arched a brow; the embarrassment was short-lived, but it'd been there regardless for all to see.
A long pause followed as she sat and smile; he followed suit, seating himself down beside her, however... he made sure to look away, trying to keep his features lax, as if thinking. The image was ruined because he kept on glancing down at her, peeking at her in confusion, almost as if she'd just grown a second head out of no where. However, after the long moment had passed, he seemed to decide on something and thus offered her a smile of his own; not a smirk, but a real smile, for the firs time, "I like that," he moved his head slightly, motioning down at her, "Your smile, I mean," and then, the smirk returned, "And you're wrong; I am perfect. That's the cross I bear," he lifted a paw and pressed it to his chest rather dramatically, lifting his head, his eyes closing to the motion. He held the pose for a moment before peeking an eye open to glance at her, the ghost of a smile haunting at the corners of his maw.
He was idly aware of the fact that it was now too late. He was still unsure of what he was late for, but that didn't quite matter; it was too late now regardless.

Uru couldn't help but blink at the way his face contorted in confusion and the way he didn't look at her...he seemed quite...nervous and she had to blink as he voiced his thoughts. He'd...wanted her to smile? A softer, friendlier expression lit her young features as she sat there watching him.
As he kept glancing at her, she just arched a brow, but kept smiling...this was very interesting now. Not only had she found an interesting male, she got him nervous too and it amused her to no end as she sat next to him.
Finally as he commented her smile, her ears perked forward, sitting atop her little brown head as her bright blue eyes watched him. He had a really nice smile, maybe it was the fact his teeth seemed to shine from her point of view, afterall in her mind being tiny wasn't a bad thing and her smile turned to a smirk as he spoke of his perfection. Aparently his ego was also a heavy cross aswell. However she kept that thought quietly to herself while giggling at his words.
"Hehe, oh yes I deffinately see that, Oro." She said, calling him by his nickname.
