It had taken a few days but finally they were here. At the border of the jungle, the thick damp smell filling their noses. A shiver went down the leopardess's spine at the sight of the place of her childhood but she was determined not to let Rengo know. She wanted this to be exciting for her mate, full of adventure and of happy times. She wasn't going to spoil it. Thinking of the pink maned lion she turned her head sideways to look at the male smiling softly.
"Here, the jungle. Home to many a strange and unique." Nafsi meant this in the nicest way possible for there were many different strange creatures with in the tree infested lands. Creatures such as the elusive, cunning snake who would sometimes pretend to be vines to fool unknowing travelers who happened to unfortunately pass under them. The thought made her laugh lightly. "Oh be careful of any vines." She warned not giving any more to him.

Rengo had come a little behind his mate, watching her more than watching what they were approaching. He couldn't help it, she was beautiful inside and out. Every now and then he would glance around to make sure everything was safe for the two.
As her voice carried back he seemed to shake his head out of a daze and gave her a slow smile, gaze rolling over the huge amount of greenery before them. He gasped slightly and looked a little in awe. He'd never seen a place like this after all. It seemed to be... very dark inside of that place.
"The vines?" He questioned, giving her a strange look as he came up beside her. "What is wrong with the vines?" He wondered if they were poisonous. In a sense... some of the vines were. Rather, the snakes mimicking them.

"Some of them might occasionally fall and have...fangs." she explained without really explaining anything. She left the rest up to him to figure out what she meant exactly. If he didn't know what snakes were then he wouldn't understand, but she figured he find out sooner or later. "It's nothing to worry about really, it rarely happens." she told him pressing her body against his.
She remained leaning against him for a little while longer before taking a step forward. "Come on," she called smiling brightly. "You aren't afraid are you?" she asked jokingly.

He chuckled. "Fangs?" His brows raised. He couldn't really picture what she was talking about. They did have snakes in the Kusini but it was more common to see a grass snake, they weren't violent at all and didn't often try to bite lions. So he'd never actually known snakes had fangs and he didn't play in the forest often enough to have seen some of the more dangerous species of snake.
"Rarely means it could!" He teased and bumped her. "You've brought me here to do me in, haven't you? Letting one of these toothed vines fall on me and bite me and I will be no more!" He said, sounding dramatic. He chuckled and nipped her cheek just before she started to move forward.
"Of course not!" He said, eyes widening and he laughed more, coming beside her as they walked.

"How did you know?" she asked pretending to be surprised that he had 'found' her out. "Guess I can't go through with that idea anymore." she told him with a slight pout. She was kidding of course, she would never want any harm to come to him. Glancing backward and flicking her tail she spoke again, "The vines with fangs are usually pleasant, so long as you don't almost step of them."
That was something she knew very well. No creature liked to be stepped on, snakes especially. One had to be careful not to come close to doing so or the results could be disastrous, deadly in some cases. Arching a brow at his words she laughed lightly. "Oh? Are you sure about that?" she inquired moving deeper into the trees.

He laughed and nodded. "Yep, you're stuck with me now." He stuck his tongue out at her and picked up his pace while looking around a little. But at her words his eyes flickered over the ground. Great he had to watch out from above and below... the jungle was a little frightening actually.
"Okay, maybe not 100 percent sure.." He admitted and smirked, nipping at her tail as she continued to move ahead of him. "So any special spot you are leading me to?"

"I can't complain though, life would be pretty boring without you by my side." she replied rather cheerfully. Her pink eyes were looking straight ahead of her occasionally glancing down at the ground and around her trying to remember the exact spot to turn.
She stopped walking. "It's alright, the jungle isn't that scary of a place." she told him as she turned to face him. Licking him upon the cheek she answered his question, "Actually yes, if I can remember the way that is, it has been a while since I've been here."

He grinned and nuzzled his forehead into hers. "My life would be dull as well." He replied softly. It wouldn't be bad, sure... but now that he'd met Nafsi he'd never want to leave her side. That would result in a very massive heart break. If he'd never met her and carried on with his life in the Kusini lands it might have been a different story, but that was not how it was.
He grinned, wondering what the place she was going to bring him to was like. Something amazing probably, usually she knew very amazing spots. He looked around carefully. "Do these types of plants grow fast?" He thought that might complicate finding the place.

Life might not have been too boring had she never met him but she probably wouldn't have met another with as much curiosity as he had. Along with his want to travel, to see new things. He was the perfect companion for her, she was sure that she wouldn't have found someone quite like him no matter how hard she might look.
"They can." she replied with a nod turning back around and setting off again. "But the path to this particular place is hard to spot the first time but after that you always know it when you see it." That how it had been in the past at least. When she was young, probably around Rengo's age when they first met if not younger, she had first stumbled upon the surprising clearing to see the pretty waterfall cascading down into a round pool of water. Ever since that day she had always been able to find it with ease. The only question was...Would she still remember how to find it?

He nodded slowly. It certainly looked as if many of the plants grew fast around here. Mostly because they were all so foreign to him!
"Well let's look for it then." He grinned at her and nudged her, wanting to see what she wanted to show him. "What should I be looking for?" He asked, trying to help out.

She was just about to reply to him when she saw it out of the corner of her eye. "Ah-ha!" she exclaimed as she bounded over to a group of clustered trees, a small opening, barely big enough for her form, could barely be seen. Sticking her head into the opening she pulled back grinning. Waving a paw to her mate she gestured for him to come join her. "I found it!" she called to him cheerfully before leaping into the opening, wiggling slightly as to not get stuck.
Nafsi was so excited. This was the one thing that she absolutely loved about the jungle and she had found it once more. Sticking her head out once more she nodded her head. "Come, come"

He laughed, she certainly was excited! He followed her and eyes the opening and then glanced himself over. She was lucky he wasn't full grown! He took a deep breath and sucked in before wiggling after her. "Gah! What a hard place to get into.." He laughed. "I should lay off on the Zebra meat, hmm?" He called, eyes dancing around to find her form.
She was much harder to spot among all of the green. But he finally did and padded after her. "Lead the way beautiful." He smiled warmly at her.

"That hole's a lot smaller than I remember it being." she replied in response to him as he caught up to her. She shrugged her shoulders before cheerfully starting forward. "It has been a while though....I just hope everything is the same as it was before." A slight ting of worry could be found in her tone but she quickly shook it off as she continued forward looking forward to seeing the waterfall again.
The walk through the surprising clear path was a bit long but ended rather quickly when she emerged out skidding to a halt to avoid plunging straight into the water. Scanning the area she saw that things were just as they had been before only with a slight change, there were flowers everywhere. Flowers of many different colors. Pink, purple even blue. "Wow...things are so much prettier now."

He blinked and stumbled as little as she stopped short, eyes widening. He gasped as his gaze floated over the beauty before him. "Nafsi!" He exclaimed, sounding very awed. Why did she always know such amazing places?
"This place... all of the places... have been so amazing.." He breathed softly as he came next to her, rubbing his side against hers as he took a deep breath of the fragrant air. Mist was hitting him in the face and it felt very refreshing in the humid air.

"Isn't it?" she whispered closing her eyes, letting the smells, the sounds, the atmosphere flow through her. Opening her eyes they searched for the trail leading to the top of the waterfall. She wondered if she'd still enjoy the thrill of jumping off the top and into the pool below. The waterfall was rather tall but it wasn't too tall and was mostly safe for jumping off of.
Finding it she took a step forward before glancing back at the dark male beside her. "Have you ever jumped off the top of a waterfall?" she asked a twinkle in her eye.
