I have been called a list of things from militant to activist, spiritual to realist, and even on one occasion a ******, but that ended with a little ignorant reaction.
The point of this thread is for us to discuss today's issues and take knowledge from one another, then go out into the real world with it.
First off you need to understand that we are looked down upon. It appears as if things have gotten better, and in actuallity they have, in open.
But think about who is running the world, white people with money, and most don't give a damn about other people, let along black people. Now keep that in mind with this discussion.

A black president wou;d be nice, but he or she would have to be crafty enough not to get used by the government.

I think the government would be afriad to use a black president because people will already suspect him/her to be up to something. So if they were to get caught they would probably rat out the government. That my even be the whole point of running. Oh and I think that we have a better chance of getting someone who is mixed because minorities vote for minorities. but there are not enough to actually turn an election. Plus some are restricted from voting anyway, or forget to vote. That is why state officals try so hard to get them to vote just so they can see if minorities can actually out vote the majority.

Interesting point with the minority votes.
On the black president thing, first off the government is grimey and they can use all kinds of methods to control a black canidate.
Next, how do you know if the black canidate can actually help anything.
If he or she is to inexperienced, then they will buckle under pressure.
But if we can get a Black President, who is strong of mind and will, then who is to say the government don't rig the polls.
A strong black canidate would be great though.

Black people have been on this country longer than most white people (a black man even sailed a ship for Columbus) so I think we're entitled. But like you said most people aren't going to let it happen. Any attempt at a black prez will be a total bust. If he doesn't sell out he's going to go the way of Kennedy. I just want to add that if a black person wants to get elected, they aren't going to get on based on being a minority. Alot of black people wouldn't vote for someone because he's black never mind that alot of people don't vote for black people for that reason.
