There are EDers all across the country and globe, better yet, many of them are in colleges with big awesome libraries and research services. While it's not exactly legal to share accounts and account passwords, we can always help each other out with looking for them. So, here's how it works:

You're looking for an article in a journal, or a book you can't find. You post here and request (with as specific information as possible) the particular article or book you're trying to find (page numbers for books, we won't be photocopying an entire book for you) and, when one of us finds it, we upload it to a shared server for you. If you just want someone to use a research service and see what comes up, we can send people document result lists, too.

HOW TO REQUEST AN ARTICLE OR BOOK:
Provide as complete a citation as possible. If you're looking for a few particular pages indicate so.

]HOW TO REQUEST A SERVICE SEARCH:
Give a specific list of terms and connectors ("President" OR "Nixon" AND "Watergate"). Specify Date ranges ("1971 to 1976" or "23 June 1988") and give the service you want searched as specifically as possible ("Lexis Nexis Congressional" instead of "Lexis Nexis").

WHEN YOU HAVE GOTTEN THE ARTICLE DELETE YOUR POST. This will help avoid unnecessary searches.

For those of us with Research Services- post what you have here and I'll compile it all into a directory up at the top so people know what they can request.

I've got Thomson Gale/Infotrac Databases, World Book Online Encyclopedia Advanced, Wilson Web Critical Issues Database, and Culture Grams database.

Keep in mind, this is all geared to highschool students. I do have access to scholarly journals and magazines through Thompson Gale and Infotrac, but most of them are run by the companies that produce book series like Opposing Viewpoints, which outline both sides of controversial debates.

I've got access to more than I would even know of. I'm familiar with Physics/Astronomy journals such as the Astrophysical Journal, Nature, etc...

But my school's library has subscriptions to everything I've ever encountered, so if you can get me a DOI (it's a code you can usually find on the webpage with the abstract), I can likely get you the article.

Additionally, if you're looking for Astronomy related Journal articles, the primary search engine is the NASA ADS.

I have access to multiple databases also geared to Highschool students.
- EBSCO Host Research Database
- Thomson Gale Resources (Knowledge Ontario)

I embezzled myself the username and password for the Big Chalk library database...

tis pretty sweet...

Here's the site. You can search transcripts, magazines, newspapers, books, audio/video, etc...

The Username is: washstatek6
The Password is: parent

I did not hack it at all. I just Googled it...

Ezzz

Anyway, I have access to a Business Library at the top business school in Canada (yes, but that doesn't say much about their Library) or the "Scott Library" at York University...

But I'm more of an internet research kind of guy...

My specialty in searching would be things that are business related or globah wubba related...

PM for requests, but I've got access to all of the University of Texas' databases...which are hundreds (if not thousands).

Look here for specific databases.
