The sun had barely risen and the thick mist and fog that scattered itself upon the ground was slowly dissapating. Already winter was making its looming presence known and, just to reiterate the fact, a thrust of wind that was bitter cold lerched itself forwards towards the pale, mutant stallion waiting for a reaction as its small howl seemed to cackle as it rustled through the boughs of trees and through the thickests that were scattered upon the ground. Ezriel felt it- that cold that cut down to the marrow of his bones but the stallion didn't flinch or wince; he simply continued drifting about the plains and idley grazing on the dew and icy grass. One would think that the male was an eater of flesh and weaklings but, truth be told, he was simply 'normal' in such standards other than his appearance.

Oh yes- a stallion with void-less orbs of purest black, adornment of horns upon his head and nose and who could forget that frightening tail adorned with spikes and a spaded tip? Ezriel was not 'normal'. He was the son of Reaper, a horrible and bloodthirsty mutant whose wrath would not salvage nor spare any soul.

Except one.

His.

Well, that was of course if he made the decision to join his father to become his heir and follow within his legacy of destruction and bloodshed. And the time was near to make a decision or it could be certain that his father would attack his family and he would be damned if he let that happen! But he could feel the darkness, that inner demon within, awake and chuckling low within his mind- clawing at the surface of his mind and urging the same thoughts and desires: Bloodshed, revenge and brutality. But he was getting better and had learned to control such a darkness that held a bitter-sweet advantage but it didn't stop the darkness from trying to consume him.

From the scared, the distant and brash colt that let such darkness consume him whenever fear and hatred wrapped around his mind, Ezriel had grown into a fine stallion and a striking resemblance of his own father minus a few details.

His experience and knowledge of the darkness that plauged him hadn't quite fully been understood yet but credit was due to the strange, blue mare who helped him realize how to overcome and control such a powerful unseen entitiy and invalid inside of him.The balance between light and dark, good and bad, within him had begun to become centered and even he could feel it.

It felt good.

The pale stallion continued meandering about in search of the tender shoots of grass to munch upon while no other soul seemed to have awakened yet. The silence and peacefulness was welcomed- it was a perfect time for his thoughts to meander and for him to be alone. Behind him his spaded-spiked tail hung limp while his jowls pulled up a mass of grass and shoots while his teeth chewed and, finally, he swallowed as he glanced around.

"I wonder what Dante, Meera and Mom are up to," he commented to himself, his tone low and reserved as he subconciously bit down upon his lower lip and flicked his ears back slightly.

Ezriel missed them- he wanted to see them again. But he was conflicted with having to agree to Reapers terms and the fear that his own father would strike out against his family. It made his heart ache and that haunting sense of his father knowing all and watching him at this very moment made him tense and jowls clench.

The pale, mutant stallion shook his head as his long, thick locks of crimson swished above the grass and to the side.

"I'll go back...soon...I'll go see them."

Yuna blinked and shivered slightly as the sharp chill of winter made its presence known. Already various animals were seen preparing for the coming of winter as befited their species and yet...

She had still not found what she was looking for.

This is ridiculous thought Yuna as she surveyed the frosty lanscape and prepared for yet another chilling breeze to blow by. I do not even know what is it that I am searching for nor where to start for that matter...I just wish..someone would tell me. But that won't happen. This is something I must do on my own. There's someone I must find...

A sudden creak of an old tree branch made Yuna snap back into the present. This was getting dangerous, she should not have been daydreaming like this at all but sometimes, just sometimes, it would seem like that was the right thing to do. To try and pry as much as she could from her somewhat hazy memories.

But that was no what she had set out to do today. Today, she had to find a place to shelter from this bitingly cold wind; and to find a grazing area for the rest of her herd. Namely Thelerian, Arod and Danae.

Breaking out into a light trot, the young mare made her way towards the shelter of some trees seen from a distance. Perhaps there she would find better protection from the cold wind.

The biting cold had come and gone, again cackling with a small howl through the brush as fallen leaves from the pass of Autumn whirled and stirred upon the ground as many were carried of and some simply scattered about. The dense and mass of cumulus clouds overhead managed to let the sun break through for several moments for its warmth to regenerate what little heat it could but, already, winter seemed knocking at the door of the plains and it could be certain that soon snow would adorn the lands once again. It left Ezriel with his crimson brows knitting slightly as he knew that he'd need to venture somewhere else to avoid the bitter cold and at least get an ounce of decent sleep.

Taking another bite at the fresh grass, the stallion rose his head upwards as he chewed and those void-less orbs glanced around curiously. Rather unexpectedly something caught his attention- it was a faint sound and the scent of another seemed to lightly hang within the air and even so within a few moments he could have sworn he saw something or, perhaps someone, cross along the plains and submerse themselves within the safety of the trees and thick woods several lengths away.

Was it his father? Was Reaper after him again or watching him?

A sick churn of his stomach gave him a heavy sensation as he swallowed and narrowed his eyes towards the suspected place where the figure had hidden themselves away. Well- he wasn't quite sure if he had seen it or not for it very well could be a figment of his imgaination but already he could feel the hairs upon his body stand up and his muscles tense. Though he could just walk away, Ezriel wanted to see if it was the one whom he dreaded. He wasn't ready to tell him his decision and his mind was so scattered and severed over the ordeal that a permenant decision hadn't been reached yet.

With a causual step that was a bit more slow, the stallion began making his way over towards the natural shelter of the trees from the early winter chill. His tail behind him became taunt and pulled to the side slightly- if it was his father, he'd be ready. Just because his father said he would spare his life didn't mean that the threat of losing his very life was fully dissapated and erased from all sense of possibility.

Ezriel could feel the darkness within swirl and wrap around his mind and the energy and adrenaline begining to trickle within his bloodstream as his heart began to race and his ears folded slightly against his head.

Each step he took he could feel his body become taunt, his mind formulating an evasive plan of action if the worst was yet to come. Would he actually have to fight? Or would he be able to simply converse and speak with his father or perhaps there was nothing to worry about?

Why did this have to be so damn confusing!

Nearing closer and approaching from the side, the young stallion narrowed his eyes as he stood outside of the thickets and toppled shelter that nature had constructed with severed branches, a mess of trees group together and gnarled brush that kept rain and snow from penetrating the makeshift home of its curret resident. Ezriel took a deep breath, exhaling softly as he stalled.

Should he enter? Or should he just forget about this?

He stood there with his eyes dancing from the strange hideaway and back towards the open plains and towards the opposite direction where the all too familiar, well trodded path sat back to his home. Biting his lower lip, the stallion shrugged his shoulders.

I'll just wait it out, he reasoned silently with himself as he stood outside and a bit of distance between he and the shelter.

It didn't hurt to wait for a few moments, right?

The trees were not much help after all. Although it could be admitted that they had kept some of the wind out, the chilliness and dampness of the place was something that could not be overlooked as well. Shaking her head in disappointment, Yuna turned to leave. Perhaps her friends would have better luck in finding a better shelther.

Snapping a few twigs as she emerged (as the thickets were rather dense in certain areas), Yuna was vaguely aware of another's presence and stopped to eye the stranger who was just a line of gnarled branches away.

From the looks of it, it would seem that the stranger was tense and agitated, as if he expected a dangerous encounter of sorts. This alone made Yuna uneasy. Was there something dangerous lurking in this undergrowth of trees? Or was the stallion preparing himself to confront the next being who emerged from the undergrowth?

Taking a few steps back to access her situation, Yuna couldn't suppress a small shiver as the stallion himself seemed to be well endowed with horns and spikes of sort. Although never seeing one, the description of a kalona came to mind. Pawing the ground warily, Yuna was not sure if she should risk making a run for it. Perhaps not a small voice said. It has never been wise to run from trouble has it?

Thus steeling her nerves, Yuna made her way cautiously over. " I've no intention of fighting," Yuna called out as she neared the edge of trees.

He had taken a deep breath as his mind mulled over how he would approach the situation if indeed it was his fathre. Would he simply converse without fear with him, run away or have to fight his father just to vocalize himself? He didn't know but there was a part of him that suspected that perhaps his father would hold off killing him if Ezriel let him make the first move. His mind seemed to snap from out of its seclusion as he heard footsteps, snow twigs and the frosty, brittle grass crunching under foot as he tensed slightly, eyes staring towards the shelter.

And what happened next caught him by surprise.

Instead of witnessing a massive, winged and fierce stallion emerge from out of the shelter, a feminine voice was first to sound followed by a quaint mare who seemed alarmed by his presence. Well- it was easy for just about anyone to become startled if they encountered a rathe large male who was adorned with spikes and horns upon his body, looking tense and just as alarmed or as if he was bracing himself for the worst to come.

He shook his head suddenly, blinking once then twice just to make sure he wasn't hallucinating.

Nope. He wasn't.

A relieved sigh escaped from out of his maw as he coud feel his body suddenly loosen and release the pent up tension that cased him to become ridged and stiff. As the mare spoke again and voiced only pure intentions, the young stallion quickly managed to smile warmly and shake his head.

"Oh- no, no, no. I'm sorry! I wasn't trying to scare you and I'm not. looking for a fight either," he replied, his tone soft and somewhat reserved but with good intentions all around. "I caught a glimpse of you heading towards the shelter and I'd mistaken you for someone else- sorry about that."

And it certainly was a good mistake! Ezriel wasn't ready to face his father- oh no! Not yet. But with his inner demons under control and with a better graps at controling himself, he felt a bit more confident than ever before or at least at times. Sure he was still a bit hesitant and mistrusting from time to time yet he felt more whole. It was a good feeling. Again he smiled, a bit sheepishly with a small chuckle as his adorned, spikey tail swayed behind him in a non-chalant manner.

"Names Ezriel- Who are you?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 18, 2007 7:29 am

((HOGOSH! Kimahri rules Ronso!! *jawdrops*))

Yuna too blinked in surprised as the spiked stallion before her shook his head and all forms of animosity seemed to have dropped away from him. Feeling somewhat less apprehensive, Yuna ventured a small step towards the other in order to get a better view of this stranger before her.

"My name's Yuna," Yuna replied allowing herself a small but sheepish smile as she faced Ezriel. " I-I am sorry if I have offended you; you know, behaving as I did . I- well... I thought that there was something dangerous lurking about...,"

Here Yuna paused as a sort of uncomfortable silence seemed to have flitted by. "But I'm glad that I was not 'that someone else' though...," Yuna then added for want of something better to say. " You seemed about ready to pounce. Er..if you know what I mean...,"

((Thank yooooou ;~~;- soon I'll have to steal Rp with Yuna for Kimahri XD! <3))

The stallion smiled as best he could, his blackest of black orbs settling upon the mare with ease as his tail swayed in a non-chalant manner behind him. He certainly hadn't seen her around- and hell, he scarcely knew many others within the plains or the vast lands that many called home. Even as she seemed to come out of her comfort zone to observe him, he simply stood there and nodded his head in greeting.

"A pleasure- Yuna," he replied with a low, somewhat reserved tone.

He shook his head, chuckling softly. "No- don't worry about it. You didn't do anything wrong and I don't blame you for getting a bit tense- there's more than just other soquili around here and sometimes its best to keep your guard up. Having horns and spikes doesn't help too much with giving a 'friendly' appearance all the time in my case." That silence that passed between them did seem rather- strange, to say the least. But the stallion managed to stay rather calm and docile as he gave a shrug of his shoulders.

Yuna had no idea how relieved he was to find that it wasn't his father, Reaper, after all. That inner battle still raged inside of him as the decision placed before him seemed to sever his decision and perspective. How was he suppose to choose, ultimately, between life and death? He didn't want to die- he wanted to live but if he chose against his father he would sentence his family to death and most likely be obliterated from all existance as well. A small, meager frown seemed to curl upon his lips as his brows knitted in minor thought. Yes- at least now he didn't have to worry but his guard was still elevated. Knowing his father, Reaper could be skulking around and lurking within the shadows- watching him or keeping an eye on him or perhaps still deciding if he was 'fit' to become his heir to the legacy of chaos and destruction that had elevated his father in the eyes of others as fearful and bloodthristy.

Ezriel nodded and managed to chuckle hesitantly. "You and me both," he smiled, feeling that sickening weight on his shoulders and knots in his stomach dissapate. To her comment, he shifting slightly in place and seemed to bite his lower lip- thinking of how to put it best.

"I'm just trying to watch my back for someone. I mean..." he pursed his lips slightly, glancing around. "My dad and I aren't on quite good terms- that's the best and shortest way to put it." Desperately he pushed the thoughts out of his head, giving a toss of his mane.

"But enough about me- what are you doing out here?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 24, 2007 8:25 am

(( ;O; Yes! I would like that! ))

"Oh, I am or was searching for a place that would give us shelter from this bitingly cold wind," Yuna replied giving her tail a slight flick. "It has been getting rather chilly these days, with winter coming on and all,"

Stepping lightly past the spiked stallion, Yuna allowed her mane to carressed gently by the winter's wind. " You know Ezriel... I used to be afraid too but...I guess I must have faced it somehow,"

"Not that I remembered them accurately," Yuna then added sheepishly. " Eversince reaching this place, my memories tend to be hazy at times; like bits and pieces, but my friends, they are good soquilis. Perhaps if fate's willing, you could meet them someday,"

((Just tell me when and I'll set it up :3 <3))

It seemed a bit early for the cold to be so fierce, piercing through ones coat and flesh and cutting down deep to one bones and that constant uncomfortable and displeasing sensation of ones lips becoming chapped and patches of frost clinging to the face and any unprotected region of the body didn't appeal to him. The stallion nodded his head, listening as his tail swayed behind him to and fro, a leg shifting with the distrubution of weight as his eyes continued to settle easily upon her.

"Winter seems to be coming earlier," he commented as a wreath of fog emitted from out of his maw and nostrils. "It keeps getting so damn cold earlier and earlier and it gets harder to find some sort of shelter." He gave a shake of his head as the long, crimson locks of mane whisped about and tried to shake free as he pursed his lips.

"If you keep following the outskirts of the forest I'm sure you'll find some makeshift shelter," he added.

For a moment he simply stood there, watching as she passed him by and listened continously. Afraid? He never liked to admit his emotions or moreso of his ears and worries- and how was he suppose to face Reaper? Though he wasn't tied with his family nor within range of home, there was that belief and that still, soft voice that always seemed to whisper and speak of the stallion needing to be brave for his family. But his mother was a strong mare- she had Glamrock and her herd to watch over her and as for Meera and Dante... well, Ezriel wasn't sure what to think. They were as old as him now and how they have changed he wasn't sure. Sometimes old habits never died but the stallion could only hope that some had changed.

A slight frown seemed to slip across his maw momentarily as his ears flickered shoulders shrugging. "Maybe- I'll face it when I'm ready. Sometimes you can't rush things."

Again he shrugged his shoulders.

"Someday perhaps. It all depends on whatever the hell the world decides to throw at my way and where it takes me," he mused. "But I wouldn't mind meeting some of your friends someday if those fates thinks its a good idea." He managed to smile slightly as he walked past her and forwards, glancing around with a casual and non-chalant manner.

"If you need help trying to find a shelter for you and your friends, I know a small place," he mentioned, glancing back to the mare. "I'll show it to you if you want to- its not far."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 30, 2007 6:25 pm

((Perhaps once this rp is over? ))

Yuna dipped her head at the other's words. It was true. One should never rush things but sometimes, just sometimes, the action needs to be taken first to break the tension of the deadlock. In certain cases at any rate, Yuna had found out that by just waiting, nothing would have come out of it. But of course, wanting to keep her peace, the mare said nothing but merely eyed the stallion as he walked past her.

"Yes, please," Yuna replied taking up the stallion's offer of assistance. " I would be really grateful if you could show me this shelter,"

Saying so, the mare fell in step behind the spiked stallion and smiled.

(( Of course! <3))

The pale, mutant stallion nodded his head as he turned back around. Winter had arrived with its cold spells and snow that was due to fall and lather the ground until spring would arrive once again and restore life but it seemed as if this Winter had come later. He had heard some say that it was called an "Indian Summer" with the summer heat and warmth prolonging longer than usual which caused winter to become shorter and arrive so late in the season. Ezriel couldn't complain- he liked it.

Trees that dotted the land and clustered in forests and groves had already shed their leaves, animals had begun to migrate to the warmer climates and the assortment of pines still kept their needles and happened to make the best shelter- it was scattered knowledge he had picked up but it had helped and perhaps it could help the mare as well. Even at the sides of the forest were the pines lined up, branches had snapped off and had become deteriorated creating relief for weary travelers and vagrants. But most of them were small and suited for game and even predators- a soquili couldn't fit in those. Ezriel let his eyes wander, void-less orbs staring as he nostrils flared slightly and wreath of cold mist emitted from his mouth and nose. He didn't like the cold- and he had a bad feeling that soon it would only get colder.

Upon approaching father past their strange meeting point, the bulk of the forest became thick and close with trees creating groves and selusive hideaways. Trails weaved and snaked in and out of its domain while the upper tops of pines intermingled and twined preventing any cold front and snow from dropping down to the grund. Given that some snow had escaped and the ground was a bit warmer than the snow, it seemed like a good place for Yuna and her friends as well.

It beat staying out in the cold, right?

Swaying his head along with his pure, crimson mane, Ezriel glanced back with a small smile as he stood to the side of the trail. "I think this will suit you- its roomy...a good place to evade the cold," he commented with a flick of his spaded, spiked tail.

"And if you follow the trail you'll find a good place to graze," he added.

((Sorry for the late reply... ^^;;; was a little busy))

Nimbly stepping past the stallion, Yuna went forward to inspect the said shelter and exclaimed in delight. It was perfect! Well, at least it was as perfect as any shelter was going to get anyway. And besides, hadn't Ezriel mentioned something about a grazing place nearby?

Turning around, Yuna thanked the stallion profusely.
" Thank you so much Ezriel. This shelter is perfect! You have been really kind," said Yuna dipping her head gracefully.

"But uh, we aren't taking this shelter from you are we?" Yuna then asked as the thought struck her. " I wouldn;t want to be accused of chasing you off...,"

((Ah no worries <3 I was a little late with my reply as well XD))

The stallion adorned with spikes simply shrugged his shoulders, lowering his head slightly in a nod. "Its...the least I can do," he replied with a small, minute smile. "It'd be a damn shame to have you and your friends freeze by means of not finding an adaquet shelter- its best that you take it while you still can."

His crimson brows knitted slightly, shaking his head. Taking it away from him? No. Rather they were fortunate to have found a stallion who knew his way around the woods and especially a wandering stallion who never stays in the same place twice or for too long. It was a nomadic lifestyle that was fitting for him and perhaps in a sense it was all the more sweeter knowing that he had a special someone whom he was looking to find once more. Whether rain, snow, or sun, Ezriel couldn't bear to simply stay and rest. Something was driving him onwards. He could feel it.

"No- don't think of it as 'taking', think of it as I'm 'giving' it to you," he replied with a slight chuckle. "Don't worry about me- I know my way around here. You'd best stay within the shelter and out of the cold as even by looking up to the clouds it seems as if there's gonna be a hell of a storm," he commented as he glanced upwards momentarily then back down towards the mare.

"You need it more than I do."

A chilling breeze seemed to rise from the ground as it nipped at his heels. Ezriel flicked his ears and drew his gaze to narrow towards the long, winding path and sighed.

"Storms coming a hell of a lot faster," he remarked as he tighted his shoulders and fended off the cold as best he could. "I'd best be on my way. Take care Yuna."

Trudging through the snow as already light snow began to fall, Ezriel made his way towards the towering cliffisdes. Oh it would be a rough journey but well worth it- he was sure of it and he'd best not keep Nimue waiting.

"You need it more than I do."

At these words, Yuna blushed slightly. It was true in a way. For some odd reason or another, her winter coat had not been growing as fast or as thick as the others. This had troubled the mare on more than one ocasion as she knew how terrible the cold could get and what it could do should one be unfortunate enough to be its victim.

Smiling gratefully at Ezriel, Yuna watched as the stallion turned to go before giving a small gasp. Stretching her neck as far back as she could (she had had trouble getting to the contents of her bag more than once) Yuna began to hastily search through its contents (some of it looking suspiciously like coloured spheres of light) before producing a small wooden charm with blue runes on it.

"Please, at least take this," Yuna said as she hurried over to the leaving stallion. " Perhaps... this might be of use to you and...goodbye," Yuna said as she stood back to watch the stallion go.
