Resting beside the tree, the same one that he seemed to grow acustomed to living at. Everyday he would wake up, running straight to this very tree through the waves of tall grass in hopes that his dear friend was back for him. However, as days pressed on, it grew more and more dull without the Goddess there with him. The Goddess of Rage seemed to be the only friend he had outside of his family. Actually, he never quite made the effort to get out there and just talk to other lions or anyone else for the matter. After the recent visit from his dear sister Mjrn, he felt troubled and so distached from the world around him. It seemed like this fort was all he had; the big tree and the sea of tall grass. He hardly saw his siblings who were growing up and finding their mates. Meanwhile, he was here sitting around waiting for his best friend to return to him so he could just be with her for a little while before going off again. Deep down, he loved the Goddess of Rage. He could care less about how she was bout herself, he would stick with her just to see her smile again. But she was always off doing her job, she can't stick around forever after all...

The young green male yawned, pure white fangs gleaming in the morning sun. It wa still young out and the herds were just moving now. Soon, the hunts would begin and so will his. Those who entered his fort was his and forever belonging to him! .... that was a little dramatic, but whatever came into his sea of tall grass, he knew about it. Od laid against the tree and waited for a foolish prey to stumble in.

Where was she?

Where was she!?

Crouching down trying to melt into the grasses around her Kijani peered around hesitantly in case any had followed her here. even though the wounds had healed the scars still remained upon her brow, a constant reminder of what she had run away from. A frown crossed her features, and she was petrified still, not sure where to go, who to trust.

She wasn't sure of anything anymore.

All she knew was green,

Green had saved her from being caught, perhaps killed or worse when she had run from the one who scarred her so, she had dove into the jungle after being chased from her pride area, blending in with the green was her only salvation when she had hidden away, inched around, slinking to try and get away.

Now she was here, here was green. Perhaps she was safe by this grass and large tree that stood tall.

Od had scaled the tree, now this time with greater difficulty than he has ever had. Never before had he had to strain himself to get up it, but it was evident that he may not be able to climb it again when he had his full mane and the extra weight of muscle. Propping his top half over the top, he pulled up most of his body so that he could stay on. While his lower half hung down from the tree, his eyes glanced all around his wonderful fortress of grasses to see if there were an irregular movements in the grass. With none seen, he let out a slight sigh before pulling himself up completely. It was typical that he would not catch anything, the area must ahve reaked with lion scent, after all he was here the most. Everyday really. It was gonna be hard for him to catch anything if his scent lingered. But still he clung to hope that something would fall in.

The young male leaned against the sturdy branch, his golden blond hair falling around his face as he looked up into the leaves. It was spaceous up here and the leaves were all over the place. The sky was so clear, the clouds were slowly coming back from the horizon. Today seemed so dull, he wished Ofd was here to play with him, but she was not. Honestly, he was ready to accept anyone to play with... even his food.

Little did he know that something was coming...

Kijani wiggled her ways through the grass heading towards the towering tree figure. Her light teal eyes wandered now and again and she would stop and listen closely to hear if anything, or anyone was nearby. She had a constant fear of being followed, or stalked, she barely was able to keep calm when she was in an area unknown to her.

Which would be everywhere from now on.

She'd never go back to where she had come from.

Inching ever closer to the shadow from hte tree, Kjani stopped beneath it, peering around, though not upwards, to make sure again she was alone. She wished to rest, but she wasn't sure if she'd ever be able to have a calm serene life ever again.

Od's green eyes watched a female move her way through the tall grass to the tree. Blond hair falling over his eyes as she moved down to the shade and shelter of the tree. She was green like himself however her fur was dotted and darker than his own. She may not have been able to blend too easily here in the Pride Lands, perhaps in the jungle. He got to his feet and carefully moved about the few limbs of the tree, paws scratching against bark, detaching leaves as they fell to the ground. His eyes remained on her.

Deciding on a closer look, he had to get closer to her, all he could see was her back and the top of her head. He wanted to see more of this invader of his fort. Moving toward the trunk, his claws latched on tight as he slowly dragged his way down to the base, on the opposite side of her. Laying there, he sighed. Perhaps going to see her was a bad idea. She was a stranger and he himself not being much of the social bug. The male took a bold step around the tree as he looked at her from around the large tree.

"... hello."

Kijani didn't think of what could make the leaves fall around her, she just merely believed the wind was making them break free from the limbs that they had once been attached to. However, when more seemed to fall, and something seemed to scrape upon something above her, she froze, petrified by fear of something int he tree above her, someone hiding?

Who could fit in a tree!?

Hearing a voice Kijani ducked down, thrusting a paw over her forehead to hide the scars that were there. Peering around her she saw something green.

Green...green was good.

"H-hi."

Od smiled at her when she greeted him in return. Though she was an intruder to his home, she was a female. If anything he knew, females were to be treated with respect and care. After all, they were the ones that brough lives into the world with their pain while their male counterparts only bred them and watched. At least, that was how he thought it went, if he were the male, he would care for them.

His green eyes looked over her lithe body, it looked as it did from above but there were slight differences. Her body was of a grassy green shade as murky green spots littered her body. The same color streaks ran down her eyes as if she was crying. If he did not know any better, he could have mistaken her as a cheetah. Then his eyes met with her blue, a slight red came across his cheeks as he looked at the paw over her right side of her face. Tilting his head, he gave a slight mew noise.

"... Hey..." he murmured as he tried to think what could have been under her paw. Shaking his head, he best not pester and just act normal, perhaps she would just tell him. "My name's Uzuri'Odharan. Are you new here around here?..."

"Uzu..." Uzu was his name then. She tilted her head at him, though not removing her paw from her forehead. The fur atop her head did not cover her scars well, and she hated that others could see them so easily. Flicking her tail she watched him, moved a bit though still keeping her paw where it was.

She would not move it if she could help it.

Nodding, Kijani watched him, peered around to make sure no ambush was happening, she was so afraid of the worst things that could happen. "Where...am I Uzu?"

"You're in my little fort. Tall grass all around and this tree right here, if I am up there, no one can sneak up on me without me seeing them. Besides, it's safe here," he moved over and sat down next to her, looking up at the tree as it did the dance of lights. The sun shot through the leaves causing light to flicker down to the ground. He loved it, it made him happy. He looked over at her softly and back. "You are trespassing on my little fort, but since you are a female and seem rather lost, you can stay here if you like."

"We're in the Pride Lands, my birth home, the safest place to be and we have the largest pride for moons away. If you stay here in these lands, the pride can keep you safe," he said. He loved the Pride Lands, in fact, it was almost hard for him to think about leaving it. His siblings were here. His family was here. Rage only knew him here. Though, he did find it rather odd that everyone else called him 'Od' and yet she called him 'Uzu'...

"So... what is your name?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 4:21 pm

Safe. Home. Kijani's eyes seemed to sparkle at the mentioning of those words, and she watched him carefully, to see if there was any deception present at all. Though Uzu seemed so nice, and she smiled, the softness of her smile reflected upon her features, she was rather small, though, when she wasn't putting herself down, she thought she was somewhat pretty.

He seemed so nice, and seemed to respect females.

Respect and kindness, something not shown to her by a specific male of her past.

"I'm Kijani Uzu, Kija is fine though...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude on your fort, its very nice," she said nodding, her paw seemingly stuck to her forehead still.

"Kija, huh? Nice name," he nodded with a purr. His eyes traced over her again and assested that she was not harmful to him nor his territory, his fort. She seemed very nice, she seemed a little lost, it was as if she was never been in a pride's territory before, did she not meet any lions on the way here? He was pretty close to the center of the pride. Actually, if he climbed to the very top of the tree, he could see Pride Rock.

Now it was starting to get him more and more curious. His eyes shifted from the tree to her eye and then to her paw. Whatever she was holding, it was pulling him to see it. What was it? What was she hiding? He wanted to know. 'Uzu' moved a little closer until the tips of their fur touched for he was not going to get any closer to her.

"You know... Uzu is sort of growing on me," he murmured. "Kija... could I ask what's wrong?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 4:31 pm

Kijani tilted her head at him again, a blank expression in the depths of her eyes, "Growing on Uzu? Do others call you different Uzu?" she asked innocently, what other names would they call him? That was the beginning of his name after all. Flicking her tail she watched him and wanted to pull back a little, though hesitated.

She didn't want to give him the wrong idea.

"It still hurts Uzu."

"Uzu is something you have called me, Kija. Have anyone called you another name but that? For myself, everyone has called me 'Od' because it's quicker I guess... or maybe because I am odd.... but some have called me 'Bugger' but I guess it was because I bugged them or something," he shrugged. "I like Uzu."

When she seemed to wiggle in herself as if she was at a crossroads with herself. He grew slightly worried that his question was too early to be asked but his curiousity had made it out. He put a paw over hers, the one on her head, and smiled a little.

"If it makes you feel uncomfortable to tell me, you don't have to. I cannot blame you for we just met."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 4:44 pm

Oh so other nicknames, she shook her head at his question though, she had never been called any other name than Kijani, or Kija, though then again she had blocked out sounds and voices when she could help it when they had been harsh and terrible.

"No its okay Uzu just..." she sighed, hesitated, and then took her pw from her forehead, the scars upon her easily seen above her eyes.

"I just think that if others see them, they question me...not that that isn't any different from what I was used to but still...it hurts."

"Kija, what happened to you? Who could have done this?" he questioned a little urgency in his voice as he looked at it. Three... no, four clawed scars ran diagonally across her forehead to just below her right eye. Her eyes were the same color and they looked... pained. hurt. distressed. He sighed with an exhale and sat back down beside her.

"You don't have to tell me what happened, hell, you'll probably leave shortly after this. Heh, after all, everyone else has. If it hurts, then don't let it hurt anymore, put it behind you. You're safe here in these lands and this pride."
