The day had only just begun a few short hours ago, and already the female was feeling groggy again. Though, in all fairness, Kimya'ukilia's dazed state was largely to thank for the supple meal that the two females staying in the small den had. With a full, warm stomach, she was ready to doze off soon for a nap. For the time being she was grooming. With the remains of their kill properly disposed of, the mother of one was running her tongue along the length of her forearm, brown pelt and black spots mostly blending amongst the tan grasses. She didn't think that anyone would interrupt, but perhaps with a need for habit, her ears remained alert to all sounds just the same.
Since her days as a rogue she had become nothing short of careful, almost paranoid when it came to her daughter, even. Joining the pride, these days were the most peaceful that she'd had since she still lived with her own mother.
Her ears perked, rough tongue paused and withdrew, back into the shallows of her jaws. With a lazy shift the female cast her gaze out over the rows of golden stalks, curious as to what figure was drawing near now.

The morning was still young and some of the herds have moved on to grazing while others still shook the wake from them. Zeki, however, had been up long before the morning sun had risen for his daily run from his den, to the border, and back. Now that he was a full-fledged adolescent, he had deemed himself fit for his own den rather than bumming off Uncle Ezeoha and his cousins. In fact, it was actually quite close to the older male's because his father did leave him in his care... Normally he would have fallen asleep before the sun rose, but his pleasure was too much to settle down to sleep. He had another feather in his possession, the feather of the Goddess of Lightning, Nix. He could still picture her beautiful, dazzling form as she remained still. Those small orbs of lights that flicked from her horns. Those beautiful eyes, those magnificent wings... he could only hope that she would keep her word.
He was on his way back to his own den, walking boldly across the savanna. The morning sun made his golden fur shine brightly, as sheen upon sheen glimmered over his fur. Zeki had taken great and delicate care of how he was presented to anyone, male or female, and took great pride on how he appeared. His crimson eyes glowed of wonderous life as his soul was still youthful. Reddish mane covered the side of his faces as it slowly started to grow more and more, plus the annoying little cowlick that he had, he seemed ideal condition to meet the queen herself! A mother and a queen of the biggest pride around.
Little did he know was he going to meet a mother that wasn't the queen.

The first thing that Kimya recognized about the pelt was it's natural gold, and it's resemblance to the queen herself. He seemed very well kept, with glistening fur and well toned form. He kept in shape, it seemed, too. Going back to her first thought though-- was he royalty?
"Good morning..."
The haphazard greeting was spoken softly, almost as if the speaker wasn't sure if it was her place to speak out to the male, despite his younger age and her lack of familiarity with his position. She was new to the pride, and didn't realize that she actually already had Pridelander blood flowing through her veins, yet despite rogue upbringing she had the health and size of someone born in the borders. Her more recent time with her mother had served well to get her back in shape and good dietary habit, and with all of the walking she'd done in her days she really never lost her fitness to begin with. On top of all of this, she made sure to keep good care of her coat, as her mother had raised her children to be clean. Her eyes were a vivacious shade of blue, even though they lacked the innocent luster her youth once had.

Zeki stopped shortly after the words had reached his ears, not knowing if she had been speaking toward him. Without the need of a gaze, he smiled that rather sauve smile. The Pride Lander was not afraid to approach any female, bad or good, he thought of it as a first step to a new relationship. Plus, it was rather a bold move to walked toward a stranger in his book. With a slight purr in his chest and the smile, it was obvious that he meant this female no harm.
He dipped his head in respect, "Good morning to you as well, Miss. My name is Ezekiel, but please, call me Zeki, I very much prefer it." he greeted. If he were closer, he would have licked her paw or something to seem... romantic. His body was almost near it's usual condition but the only down side was that he was slightly out of breath and that his body was slightly covered in sweat from the quick run to border to border; perhaps pushing himself from one side to the other was not the best of ideas he could have had, in fact, he had quite three fourths of the way to the other border and decided to head home for a good cat nap.
"I am sorry if I disturbed your rest, Miss. Are you a member of the Pride Landers?"

It was probably better that he didn't and wasn't. Kimya wasn't the most experienced girl when it came to flirtations such as that. It wasn't a bad thing, but she wouldn't have had a clue what to do in such a situation. For the time being she was spared such fretting.
Zeki, short and simple, easy to remember.
"It's alright, I'm new to the lands. And... you?"

Zeki looked at her, she seemed a little older than himself, he could not help but feel compelled to be a little more attracted to her. She had more experience and more wisdom than those of his own age, at least most of them. Her eyes were beautiful for he noticed nothing wrong. Her fur was nice and clean but she seemed so distant to him. He took a few more strides closer.
"New you say? So I could assume you be a rogue," he replied. "I am a Pride Lander, I would say I am a nephew of the Queen herself, but my knowledge tells me that we are much further than that. We are not directly related and yet we are... confusing isn't it?" he chuckled as he came withing view of her.
He was right, she was a beautiful female.

So, he was related after all. She nodded quietly, keeping her seat.
"Yes... I was raised a ways past the border." She admitted, tucking her paws a bit close to her chest then.

"So then you might have been born as a Pride Lander but raised outside of the lands. Though... raised here or there, you're still beautiful," he smiled. It didn't matter who the female was born from, where they were from, or when they were born... all females were beautiful things that deserved attention from any and all around him.
"Forgive me if I am too forward but have you been looking for a mate?" he questioned. "Someone so beautiful and shy, which I find adorable, to not have a mate or a close friend is mind boggling."

Kimya was... shocked. She stared at the younger male, mouth falling open for a moment before snapping shut again. If it was possible for lions to blush she'd surely be doing it now. Thankfully they couldn't, but her embarrassment was clear all the same, ears flattening to th top of her head with the feline equivalent of a blush instead. No one had ever spoken to her like that before.
"I-- no, I haven't. I don't have one."

Zeki tilted his head a little, blinking at her. She didn't have any close friends? He stood up and came a little closer, a look of close sympathy fell over him. Poor girl had no one? How could that have been? She was beautiful, she was sweet, she was shy, but she was still a female! He smiled to her sweetly before laying down again.
"I'll be a friend if you like," he offered. " I don't believe I caught your name..."

"Kimya'ukilia."
His mannerisms suggested that he didn't mean any harm, it helped her relax a little bit more, but she was still feeling taken off guard. Was he really offering friendship, to someone he'd just met? She smiled, albeit uncertainly. It might be hard to believe but, she'd never had a friend before, just her family, mother, brothers, daughter, and almost everyone else had been... less than friendly, and those that were, well, they were just passing faces in the crowd.
"I came here with my daughter. She's about your age, actually." She said with a more confident smile. It always brought her joy to talk about her little girl, the pride and joy of her life.

"Kimya'ukilia, huh? Well, that's a wonderful name for such a beautiful girl," he purred.
Zeki had always felt that his movements were bold ones that he was always willing to take. He didn't think that he could be intimidating to anyone or seen as harmful. Okay, perhaps to some males but never to females. He would always offer his paw to friendship as soon as possible to a female if he felt it would make them feel more comfortable around him. Seeing a female tense and nervous was just... it made him feel uncomfortable as if he had done something to disturb them. That was the last thing he wanted to do. He had met many females and he hopped to see them all again sooner or later, he wanted to make sure his presence in their lives was not a fleeting one.
"A daughter you say?" he questioned, the topic of a female arouse in his mind when the word rolled from her maw. A female as young as her had a daughter? And around his age too! Zeki smiled. "She must be beautiful just like you, but now the question arises... where's her father?" a pause. "You do not have to tell me if you do not wish to."

"I'm really nothing special." Her smile grew a little somber for a moment, genuinely modest, but not at all hesitant to sing her daughter's praise. "She's a beautiful girl though," And full of so much more innocence and potential that Kimya would have. She was too insecure, but Imara was young yet, she had been sheltered from the negative, as much as Kimya could until now, where as Kimya, upon leaving home, had encountered nothing but negative. Thank the gods she had her family to fall back on, and now a new pride to call home, but the past couldn't be undone.
Her gaze fell away from Zeki when he asked about Imara's father, the brown female resting her chin on her paws.
"I don't know who her father is. He didn't bother giving a name." Why would he want to? It should be clear from that answer alone that either she had been tricked, or something else had transpired that resulted in the pregnancy. She didn't dare say either way though, and when prompted to answer that question she always left it to the person asking to assume their own answer.

"I see..." he replied as he let out a soft sigh. Not the best topic to talk about, she was a good girl, older, very pretty, a dedicated mother, and then some! She deserved to be love, she deserved a lot more than that. She needed someone who could comfort her and give her the attention she needed. And to himself... he was not the one to be able to give it to her. All he could do was comfort her the best he can and be seen as friend to be sought out to be with. He chuckled a little.
"So you have had a hard time outside the lands and now you are here. Don't worry, as long as you are with us, you will be safe. This is perhaps the safest place around for a while," he purred, looking over her once again before raising to his feet, stretching out his back. It may be not the best time, but he wanted to show her himself, clean coat, toned body, and that charming smile. She was indeed safe.
Laying down again, "So where is your daughter? She still resting?" his voice slowly fell to a whisper. "She have a name?"

"Yes..." She sighed softly, once again calming, blue eyes trained on him, shifting a leg to a more relaxed position. "It's nice to have a place where we don't have to worry about safety, I just wish my mother would have come with us."
She did worry about Kinja, but being here allowed her to stay close. She could visit any time she wanted, living here.
"She's resting back at the den, most likely. Her name is Imara'ini."
