I've never used a game like that to role-play before it seems like it could be a lot of fun. I play World of Warcraft but I could never picture myself role-playing in that game. I used to spend a lot of time using Warcraft 3 to role-play it is an awesome medium to use. There is a massive map that has different scenery and settings and you can custom build any units and structures that are available to you in the game. There are also input commands to make your characters do emotions and actions.
It takes a long time to learn all the input commands but once you've learned them it makes for some of the most visually satisfying RP that you will ever have. You can construct entire kingdoms and customize any building, it's truly unique. One problem is that it can take forever for RPs to actually get started. I spend so much time making villages and creating npcs that we rarely get any in depth RP going.
People used to invite me to games simply because I was good at making a role-play environment. It used to make me angry when I had to build everything and people would have "wanderer" type characters that come and use all the stuff I make for them. Honestly though I found it so insanely fun that I never really minded.
