I think I have it but I'm really scared to go to the doctor. sad Can anyone else relate? sweatdrop

No, I have never had it. Why would you be afraid to go to the doctor? Folliculitis can be nasty to have (so it seems, I have no first hand experience) yet fairly easy to treat. So you really have nothing to fear.
However, there are a few things you can do at home to see if the problem clears up on its own before heading to the doctor:
1. If the problem is in an area that you shave, wave, or pluck stop shaving, waxing, or plucking at least for a little while.
2. If you use moisturizer, either stop using it or make sure it is gentle and oil-free.
3. Avoid hot tubs.
4. Keep the area clean and dry.
5. Wear loose clothing.
If that stuff does not help it clear up in a few days, you'll have to head to the doctor.
