So in my speech class, we are supposed to be giving persuasive speeches in a couple of weeks and I choose to argue that abortion should remain safe and legal.
Since there are so many things I can talk about, I was wondering you guys can help my narrow down the why to my topic. Now, I do plan on using bodily domain as an argument, but what else?

The library of logic has a whole bunch of studies about abortion. I would start there.

Total Irony that I have had to sit through 2 anti-abortion persuasive speeches . Non which were any good, all which were "Here are some real pictures of abortion, LOOK LOOK AT TEH POOR BAHBEY!!" Their reference sheets were a bunch of pro-life propaganda sites. Then again, I'm in texas, so why am I should I be surprised.

Sounds... irritating. And shock pictures? Yes, that's it, force people to view disturbing imagery to force them to want to save the "widdle baybees!!!111eleventy-one."
I think the only pictures I'll be using are fetus developmental drawings, to show that pro-lifers lie about things.

Bring up the point about making medical decisions is between a doctor and patient not the rest of the f*cking country. Also bring up that this is the same as telling a cancer patient they can't get treatment because of someone else's religious beliefs. Highly stress the audience that making decisions in someone else's life is wrong. Also state that religion cannot be used as a way to defend pro-life because not everyone believes in it.
Code 1, Section 8 states as well that a fetus is not a human being/person and therefore cannot be given rights.
Also, the sites that use the abortion "pictures" are FAKE. They are tiny plastic/rubber models usually.
About anti-abortionist speeches Yes I had to sit through one. Only, he faked his survey resultsHe didn't have an athiest/agnostic/other selection on his survey for me to mark. On his slide show it stated that 100% of the class was Christian. He stated that my survey answers were thrown out because I wrote in the margins that I didn't believe in the Christian God that I was animatist. I was hoping the professor would fail him but she didn't.

If you haven't watched that video with Whoopi, then you should. MipsyKitten started the thread. Whoopi makes an excellent point.
