It felt different with him gone. His mind was a lot clearer, the paranoia of others seeing him and possibly calling him a thief was gone. His mind was set on a few things, but one thing in particular, one green thing. The strangely marked King Cheetah raced across the rogue lands toward teh Pride Lands where the female he had found was situated. He was no longer wanting to steal from others. He no longer wanted to take things. But everyone had a sin within him and Greed, with Lust, was his. Xanatos was lusting over something green. He wanted it but was afraid how to get it. This thing had a way to get what it wanted, he could tell by just looking at it when he was close. He wanted it for himself, he wanted to keep it close and claim it as his. He wanted the world to know that it was his and no one elses, it seemed.... sketchy, but it was what he wanted. There was a reason why they were sins.
The cheetah slowed down his pace to a slow trot and then into a walk. In his maw was a special gem, a green gem, along with a a strip of torn cloth it seemed, stolen from a human camp. His piercing golden eyes glanced around for anyone to see if there was anything around. This gem was teh last of his youth's treasures. The Goddess of Greed, Ubuge had taken it all. Having to bad maw the Goddess, he thought she would retaliate and possible kill him. The way she wanted to trick him like that! What a fool she was to try to trick a thief. He laughed at her and left her. He said he was to relinquish his greed once and for all...
But he had one last thing he wanted.

Etana'Mayasa sat disinterested, twitching her tail and watching a small herd of antelope go by, wondering if she was hungry enough to be bothered with hunting today. Years of straining herself had made her mother frail and weak; Eta was determined not to end up like her. Whenever possible, she found prey that was..easier to catch, or perhaps already near death.
Despite her complaining stomach, Eta decided she wasn't in the mood to run today. She liked to run, and she liked to think she was pretty darn fast, but it was just too much work on a hot day like today. With a nonchalant shrug of the shoulders, Eta was about to turn and step down from the rock on which she was perched. And then suddenly something caught her eye - a blur moving across the grass, too fast to be prey. It could only be...
Another cheetah! She saw him clearly now as he began to slow from the breakneck pace. Feeling a bit of pride at her species - it was always an impressive thing to see a cheetah run, none other could match it - Eta smiled to herself. Perhaps she could be bothered to go and speak to this male...it could be a bit of fun.

Xanatos spun around as a chill ran down his spine. At first he thought it could have been a victim of his ol' alias Xivati. However, he was safe in the Pride Lands... even if there were many here who had hit. Another thought was that Kuu might have followed him out to his secret den and was now stalking him back to her den. However, that was impossible since he trusted her enough not to do something like that, she could find things better to do. He didn't recall, but he thought he had left without a word to her. However, the most plausible confrontation was with the Goddess of Greed, bad mawing her and then laughing at her foolish attempt to trick him. She would be mad at him, he could assume, but she was not going to catch a fast, strong cheetah like himself.
Dropping the cloth and gem, he let out a soft mew as he stretched, reaching forward to get his back well. Xana's tail tipped out as his eyes closed shut, this one was one that was probably one waiting to be done. Muscles were tense, his back was a little sore and for one with a good back as his, he had been running quite far. Orange eyes jerked open as he stepped around the green gem, stretching out each leg before standing still again. All over his body were blotches of dark brown, some have laughed at him because they saw images like faces or shapes. Though it did bug him a little, it was tiresome to listen to it. Curious of where he was, he took a deep birth and let out a yip, or some have called it, a chirp. It was loud and very sharp, accented sound that emitted from deep within his throat. Hopefully there would be someone around to find him.

Etana approached the male, her stride slinky, her steps confident. Her mother had noticed, right from the beginning, the proud way in which she walked, and Eta had even been named for it. Though she would admit to running just a bit to catch up to the male, she wanted to be walking when he saw her. She didn't want to seem too eager, of course.
Eta was cocky without any real reason to be; confident and unruffled no matter what. She wasn't afraid of another cheetah - nothing bad could come of meeting him, only the possibility of good. Very few things worried her, and none that she would ever let on.
Eta wondered, as she came nearer, if he had seen her. Perhaps that was why he gave that chirp. She didn't bother to respond...a few more steps and she would come upon him from the side.
"Well hello there, friend," she said, her words smooth and neutral. Eta made sure to communicate that she was neither overly happy to see him, nor malicious in intent; she was simply interested. Hopefully her words would reach him just before he saw her.

Xana's ears perked, tail tipped a little as he tilted his head back over his shoulder. His face was rather solid, hiding his emotions as she deserved nothing, she did not get the right to see those. He did c**k a brow out of interest. The female was a sight, easy on the eyes if one may. She was a nice brown color, like himself, but she was nothing like the green object that he was seeking. Though, he was curious if this one could possibly help him in more ways than one.
"Hello, stranger," he greeted, turning to her now, sitting himself down so that his paws were safely around the gem and cloth, hiding them proficiently. His piercing orange eyes glanced her over and over, as a slight purr escaped his maw. She was a fine female indeed, perfect for breeding, but she was not the female that he was seeking-no, he had already found it. The only issue was... was obtaining it.
"The name is Xanatos and I would like to inquire your help."

Etana's eyebrows arched, and instantly she was glad she had decided to come to this male, this...Xanatos. Not only was he an interesting sight to see up close - such markings she had never seen - but he was asking for help, as well? A slow smile crossed her features. Not so much of slyness or cunning, but of sincere pleasure.
"My name is Etana'Mayasa, and it's a pleasure to meet you, Xanatos." As usual, she spoke her name with obvious pleasure; she took great pride in its sound. "Whatever I can do to be of assistance?" Already she was beginning to consider what favors she could ask in return; different favors, in varying degrees of difficulty, depending on what the other cheetah may ask of her.

"I am chasing a female. I have already spent with the night with her, but I could not sit still because of personal reasons. I want her to know how I feel and I have this for her," he lifts his paw to show his gem and cloth briefly before putting his paw back. "I want to tell her something important, but I am a little nervous of how she will reply."
Never before had he spoken that much when he wasn't impersonating Xivati. Never before had he actually told that much and all of it personal plus truthful. He let out a sigh, "If you can't help, I could just go. ... If I knew how far the Pride Lands was from here."

Etana smiled and nodded her head knowingly. "Ah, trouble with a lady, is it? That's not an uncommon situation." The cheetah had had her own fair share of troubles with men, and this gave her a good sense of how relationships work well and how they fail. On that thought, she considered to herself a moment: should she even help this male? Males had been quite irksome to her in the past, and many were scoundrels and scumbags. Even though this one seemed alright upon first meeting - perhaps a little dry for her tastes - you could never tell when they would turn on you.
"So, you spent the night with her and left her, hmm?" Etana asked with a hint of disdain. "And only now you realize you have feelings for her. Well, she may not think so highly of you at the moment." She wanted to see how he would defend himself; see if he was worthy of good advice. "You may not be welcomed with open arms, let me tell you that."
Etana was fishing, trying to convince him that he was in more trouble than he thought so that he would need her help that much more. She knew it was a simple matter, one that she likely did not even need to advise him in, but it was worth a try.
"Women can be fickle about these things, you see. I myself have been jilted in love in a situations quite similar to the one you have just described; I perhaps know a little of what your girl is feeling right now. Luckily for you, I also have an idea of how you can deftly get back in her good graces in no time at all."
The brown cheetah looked pointedly at Xanatos with a smile that was a subtle mixture of sincerity and slyness.

He scoffed. "Don't you think I slept with her, do you? No, I did not mate with her, I simply slept by her side in her den because I could not reach my own," he shook his head. How all he had spoken to in his past, whenever he had spoken those words they always believed he had mated with them. No, he was not that sort of male... at least not anymore. He no longer slept for his victims and stole their belongings. He no longer slept to steal their shelter later on. No, he was not like that anymore. He stole no more.
"If I can provoke the Goddess of Greed and live, I believe I can survive a fickle female. Besides, have you ever seen a female get mad when coming face to face..." Xana slides his paw around the emerald and place it before her. "...this? Not I and I have used such a trick for many moons, my dear and let me tell you that I can do it again... without a purpose, I cannot but luckily I do."
The cheetah waved it in front of her face a few times before putting it back, putting his paw over it.
"But a little advice cannot hurt. What do you insuate that I should do?"

Etana chuckled, quite amused at his reaction. "You didn't? Ah, good for you. Smart boy. You may actually have a chance, in that case."
"The Goddess of Greed?" Now there's a lady she'd like to meet. "Interesting...very interesting. I believe you may know what you're doing, then, Xanatos."
When he showed her the glimmering green jewel, her eyes went wide and her mouth very nearly dropped. She did not speak a moment. "Wh..where did you get that?"
Realizing how she must look, Etana then recovered herself and tried to appear disinterested. Returning to the conversation on hand, her mind still buzzed with the beauty of the emerald. "It seems you...have quite a good plan in mind already. I don't know of a female alive who wouldn't take you back if you offer them such a precious, beautiful thing." Etana nearly felt like she was salivating, and because that was certainly not attractive, she tried to put a stop to that.
"Xana, my friend," she said, speaking casually, "I don't believe you'll have female troubles as long as you supply the unhappy ones with jewels. Seeing as you already have a very good ploy, I'm not sure what I can do to help you." It was too bad, really it was. Etana was just beginning to realize how valuable this male could be. But he seemed too smart for any ploy she had the energy to muster right now.
"Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to say to her when you return?"

He scoffed, "Ubuge was a foolish Goddess. Trying to trick a trickster simply does not work, I knew her ploys for I had done it long before. She could not deceive me," he way she looked when he waved his gem, it was a usual response from females. He grinned, holding the gem up again.
"This little thing was... given as a gift from a Guard of a very fierce pride. It was a simple really, he seemed very willing to allow me to stay for a while. Before long, he found himself missing a 'friend'... or two," he smirked as he rolled the gem in his paw. He loved how the eyes of females shined when they saw such items like this. It was a part of why he loved to get them, to show them off secretly. The chance of almost being caught was exhilarating. "If you want, I gave all of the gems, stones, feathers, and other 'gifts' I had ever gotten to Ubuge, if you want them... simply follow my scent back to my den and hope that the foolish Goddess is still there."
He nodded as she spoke of this plan of his. He had thought about that, in fact that was what he had planned to do. Showing Kuu this gem will leave her speechless long enough for him to tell her the truth without interruption. He smirked as he turned away from her, toward where he believed the very female would be. He had lied to the Goddess and it was only time before she notices that she did not hold all of his treasures. He was no fool, he had a few dens spread out the area, only the one Ubuge got to held the most. The rest had little bits and pieces such as small, hard material that he had seen a few lions wear upon their ears. He had thought about putting them on himself... but he was going to wait until he figured out exactly what he had left.
"Then you could only help me by telling me where I am and how I could get to the Pride Lands," he spoke as he turned down to the gem. He placed his paw down on the top of the gem. His other paw reached down to the tattered cloth and slowly began to wrap it around the gem, the majority of the gem covered and wrapped, he made sure that one could clearly see the green color from a distance. When he let it go, the wrap loosened some because it was simply too difficult to tie alone.
"First, I will give this to her, surely this will shut her up long enough to tell her the truth..."

Etana couldn't help but perk up when he mentioned Ubuge, the goddess who apparently had many pretty sparkling things. That certainly was interesting news; she filed that tidbit of info away for later. She might have to call on this goddess...
"The Pridelands, hmm?" she thought about it, trying to recall the last time she knew her location in relation to those lands. "Though I have quite a few negative qualities, Xan, I can't say I'm a liar. It pains me to say I can't help you find the Pridelands - I tend not to keep track of who claims to own what nowadays. I'm terribly sorry I couldn't have been of more help," Eta said silkily, with real regret in her voice. Lord knows he could have been a useful male; he certainly knows his way with the ladies.
Sighing, she knew she had nothing with which to keep him, and now he must of course be on his way. A true pity, it was. She could not even tempt his heart - something Eta resorted to when she had nothing but herself to offer - because it was already trained on another goal, another female. The shame of this missed opportunity pained her; mentally she made a note that she must get in good with some important folks, so that the next time she meets a valuable soul, she has something to bargain with.
"It seems I have run out of usefulness," she said, half-joking and half-apologetic. "Surely you'll be able to find the Pridelands on your own; the lion-smell is overpowering. Good luck with your honey, honey. And take care of that gem of yours."
Eta allowed herself only a twinge of jealously.

He smirked and got a little close, lifting his paw under her, pulling her close to him. His piercing orange eyes looking into hers, a slight smirk over his maw. "Oh, you have not quite outlived your usefulness, Eta. I have too many jewels for Ubuge to take, all scattered around the rogue lands in my territory, take them if you can find them, but this one will never be yours." With a scoff he let her go, turning around, his tail lightly brushing against her leg. He did not mean the one under his paw either.
Reaching down, he lent down and took the gem into his maw. With a last glance and rolling eyes, he started off to head off. With a flick of his tail good bye, he darted off again.
After a while of sprinting, he noticed something rather strange. The scent in the air was faint but...
The gem dropped to the ground as a growl passed his maw.
"Damn, I was just here!"

((I don't quite understand the last part; do you mean he came back to where Etana is?))
Eta, though suprised, was not unpleasantly so. After the initial shock of his change in tone, a slow grin spread across her face. She chuckled happily, lowly. "I am ever so glad to have met you, Xanatos. For so many reasons."
As he pulled away from her and turned to leave, her mouth stayed quiet but her eyes did not leave him until he had disappeared from her view. Her dark maroon eyes glowed warmly, reflecting the thoughts that stirred behind them.
