Adalia grinned as she gazed out from the mock captain's chair in the shop. She had managed to convince Fiach he needed a day off, Sionce never dropped in, and Leharl was off in his ship somewhere. Her grin grew as she silently congratulated herself on having successfully schemed to have the store to herself. A slight pout formed on her lips as she wondered why people were always so reluctant to leave her alone in the store.

Shrugging as she hopped up out of Leharl's chair, Adalia decided that it didn't really matter. Strutting over to Fiach's computer desk, she hopped up into his too tall chair and began tapping away on his keyboard. While she was here, she might as well invite Li'tae to help her work -- or cause mischief.

A bemused expression filled her face as the elder Hacker pranced across Fiach's computer screen. With his usual smirk he stopped midway and a text bubble danced over his head. His eyes flicked to and fro as if searching the room for anyone who might hear what he had to say as the flashing cursor began to steadily skip across the screen.

Settling into the large chair, Adalia smiled as her eyes scanned over what the Hacker was saying.

Grimacing at the nickname the hacker had given her, she smirked and vaguely responded, "I convinced him he needed a day off." Shrugging to indicate that was all she'd reveal to the hacker, she opened up a few of the files on Fiach's computer. A small frown appeared on her lips as she came across the schedule Fiach had for the day.

Seeing the grown, Li'tae gleefully grabbed the files to examine them for himself. Clapping his hands, his speech bubble returned and the cursor flickered across the screen.

Peering closer at the files he snickered and added,

Sighing in frustration, Adalia settled in for what had become a decidedly aggravating and long day. She had planned on playing around all day, not actually working, after all.

Melee murmured softly under her breath as she paused outside the door of the supposed shop, wondering if this wasn’t another elaborate internet hoax dreamt up by college students with nothing better to do. It had been a couple of days ago that her Digital Art major work blipped out of existence. Three months of staring at her laptop screen until her doctor threatened blindness and enduring knuckles so sore, they cracked... All gone. Data retrieval was useless. Antivirus had come up blank. Throwing a couple of keywords into Google had been a last-ditch effort; she certainly hadn’t expected it to reveal the culprit, and a new species of troublesome creatures called Hackers… Provided it was all true, of course.

And now the place she could theoretically get the problem fixed looked more like a grandmother’s cottage than a computer store. Sighing, Melee pressed open the door, adjusting the strap to her laptop bag as she went. What could it hurt?

She pushed up her sunglasses and summoned a smile. It transformed her face into something instantly likeable. “Hello?”

A pair of mismatched eyes- one a vibrant emerald green and the other a dark shade of midnight blue- scanned the are constantly, their owner, a teenage boy- a young adult, thank you very much- moved swiftly down the sidewalk. The boy wore an oversized, grey, hooded sweatshirt, the hood pulled up over his head, concealing a multi-colored optics & messy, not quite shoulder length, deep red hair. Both of his pale hands were stuffed into the hoodie's lone pocket, gripping tightly to the palm pilot that rest in there.

This boy, well, he had found it quite amusing when his younger sister brought home a little computer dwelling creature that ate data. The virtual creature- the hacker, as his sister called it- was friendly enough, spending its days asking questions, downloading iTunes, playing online games and doodling on the computer, and had a rather friendly, child like disposition. However, the new hacker that had followed Aiko home last week, that one was a problem.

This new comer appeared to be older than Aiko, more knowledgeable, and much more malicious. For some reason or another- the red head really had no idea why- it targeted him for all it's mean tricks, launching all full out attack on the boy's computer. Really, it was more of an annoyance than anything, but it needed to stop. So, while his younger sister went out for a while- luck would have it that she had both play practice and choir rehearsal on the same night- her big brother borrowed Aiko, download the young hacker onto his palm pilot, and ventured to the store where Aiko's egg first came from.

Upon reaching his destination the boy pulled out his palm pilot and gazed at the little purple and black hacker on his screen, who was currently playing a game of minesweeper to pass the time. "Now, Aiko," he leaned into whisper to the hacker, praying that no one came by at the time and saw him talking to his palm pilot like a crazy person, "this trip is going to be our secret, and what do we know about secrets?"

The message appeared in a little bow below the creature, Aiko doing a little back flip as she responded, obviously proud of herself for know the right answer.

Smiling and giving a small nod, the boy put the mini computer back in his pocket and gently pushed open the door to the shop, only to find another girl already inside, waiting for service. Closing the door behind him, he stepped to the side, feeling the polite thing to do would be to wait until after the girl got what she had came for before he asked about his own little problem.

A young man dances down the street along the sidewalk, his movements powered by the techno beats blasting out from the large black headphones he's wearing. His dark brown hair, pulled back into a ponytail, bounces about as he struts along. He wears a simple white t-shirt and a pair of baggy blue jeans. At his side hangs a black laptop case, stuffed full of accessories and papers.

As he dances about, he frequently pauses, turning to look toward the numbers on the buildings he's passing. He checks these against a number scribbled onto a crumpled napkin he's holding.

Only a few days earlier, he was freaking out over the disappearance of some very important family recipes from his laptop. Aside from this, his computer also seemed a tad glitchy. Explaining this problem to a computer savvy coworker, he was given an address to seek help at.

His slender left hand reaches down to his hip, pressing the pause on his white iPod. Both hands lift to his ears, grasping his headphones to pull them off and let them hang around his neck. The dancing stops and the youth begins to walk calmly down the sidewalk now. His good eye continues to scan the building numbers as he closes in on his target.

Putting on her most winsome smile, Adalia jumped up from her chair and happily greeted the newcomer. Thrusting her hand out towards the girl, she pleasantly responded with, "Hello! My name is Adalia, what's your's?"

Adjusting her attention as the boy came in, she flashed a charming smile at him, and added a belated greeting to him as well, "Hello to you, too!" Gesturing towards the side wall where there were a few chairs, Adalia happily strutted towards them and sat in the middle where she could easily include both newcomers in any conversation.

Crossing on leg over the other, she placed her hands neatly in her lap and smiled invitingly towards them, waiting for them to sit so they could talk in comfort.

"I really don't know how Fiach handles customers from that stuffy computer desk..."

"I'm Melee." She glanced down at Adalia's hand, hesitating for a brief moment before clasping it quickly in her own. It was more a touch than a shake, just enough to irritate the enflamed skin of her fingers. She twitched them experimentally as she withdrew. Not so bad today, it seemed. Dropping into the chair beside Adalia, she realised with a start that she'd forgotten to moisturise again.

Her laptop case settled on the floor, Melee hooked her ankles together and tucked them beneath the chair, surveying the boy who hovered near the door. He had wicked hair, she thought with approval. And such strange eyes... It appeared that Adalia wanted to deal with them both at the same time. This struck Melee as a little odd, but - she snuck a look at her sparkly, pink monstrosity of a watch - it wasn't as though she was in any particular hurry, after all.

"Hey," she offered, lifting a hand and smiling widely in greeting.

The boy fidgeted ever so slightly, shoving his hands deeper into his hoodie pocket. One on one conversations had always proved difficult for him, group conversations- though most would hardly call three people a group- had always proven to be rather impossible. It probably had to do with when he was younger, how his sister or brother had always done the talking, and he had always done the apologizing for their talking, since the two hardly ever had anything sensible and/or appropriate to say. (That, and the fact that in grade school, while the other kids were interacting and having fun, he was either at home, getting sick all over everything, or at his desk, reading whatever he could get his hands on. )

"Hey..." he mumbled, giving slight nod towards the two girls and slowly walking over to one of the chairs, hands still shoved in his pockets. He noted that he other girl seemed kind of off with her hands, but he hardly had room to make comments about things like that- his hands were stuffed in his hoodie pocket nintey-eight percent of the time. Then, realizing he was the only one who hadn't introduced himself, he added as he sat down, "I'm... Kristian."

Giving a small smile, Kristian looked back to... to.. what was her name? Something with an A. Mentally shrugging, he decided he'd worry about it later and slouched down in his chair- he was a compulsive sloucher- waiting to her what she had to say since honestly, he wasn't exactly sure what to ask. Plus, the other girl had gotten here first, so technically her questions should go first.

The young man comes to a complete stop, his body turning toward a rather strange-looking building. Head tilted back, he gazes toward the address of the building, sunlight dancing in the reflection of his soft green eye. Head lowering, the male turns his attention to the door. Of course, opening the door would be the next step, but he hesitates and adjusts his eye patch to make certain that it wouldn't reveal anything that may embarrass him.

"Get over it, Dean," he mutters to himself, then giving a nod of determination. Reminding himself that a fear of new places was irrational, Dean builds the courage to thrust his hand forward and grasp the door. He pulls the door toward himself, but it doesn't open. It merely shakes as he tries to pull on it. Confused, he looks around for the store's hours and instead finds a sign reading "PUSH" toward his right. With a sigh, he pushes the door, entering the shop cautiously.

"Hello?" he calls out timidly, his head poking into the shop further than the rest of his body. Scanning about with his left eye, he finds some people sitting against the wall. Dean straightens out his posture, stepping into the room far enough so that he may close the door behind himself. He looks toward the counter, finding nobody there, and then back toward the folks seated on the chair. "Uhm..." he begins to speak toward the three. "Are you all waiting to get your computers looked at, too?" Seeing Adalia with the others sitting down, he assumes that she's yet another customer of the shop as well.

Smiling at the girl named Melee, Adalia notes the dryness of the hand that touches hers and tilts her head. Looking around the shop for her purse, she spots it over by Leharl's chair and gives a large grin. "If you need some lotion, I have some in my purse over there." She excitedly points towards the captain's chair and the large black bag sitting next to it. She'd forgotten to move the purse with her when she got out of the chair, and didn't quite feel like running over to it just yet. If the girl wanted lotion, she'd happily go and grab it for her.

Smiling at the boy who introduced himself as Kristian, she inwardly frowned at his posture. She'd had to get after Fiach for that quite a few times, but it was much too early in this acquaintance to be making comments to him. Adalia extended her hand to the newcomer, hoping to get him to take his hands out of his pockets.

At the timid "hello?" being called into the shop, Adalia shifted so that her smile took him in as well, though didn't remove her hand from being extended at Kristian. She'd get him out of his shell, one way or another. Dividing her attention between the two boys, Adalia gave a little giggle, "Actually, I'm the younger sister for the owner of the shop. My name is Adalia. What's yours?"

Melee started as Adalia adressed her, unconsciously fisting her hands in her lap. "Thank you, but it is okay," she smiled wryly. "I have a prescription at home that I should be using. Eczema," she added, by way of explanation. It was surprising that Adalia had noticed the condition in such a short time, but Melee supposed you needed to be observant to deal with people on a regular basis. Speaking of, she really hoped the woman knew how to get her artwork back... Make the hacker regurgitate, or something.

She turned her attention back to Kristian, mouthing his name without realising, just as another boy stepped tentatively into the store. It was a quirky habit she'd developed when processing new information. Melee regarded the newcomer curiously and considered his question, glad that this whole affair wasn't turning out to be a scam. If this really was the place she was looking for, it seemed there was quite an infestation of data-consuming critters...

The Korean girl bobbed her head at the brown-haired fellow and flashed a grin. "I am hoping to find out what is wrong with my machine." She gave her laptop a nudge with her foot.

Kristian looked down at Adalia's hand and cocked an eyebrow, as if he had no idea what she was doing. After a moment of internal debate- he hated shaking hands, but he hated being rude- he quickly took a pale hand out of his pocket and lightly grasped the girl's hand, giving a brief shake before stuffing his hand right back into it's natural home of his hoodie pocket.

The almost hand shake (he had decided it was too brief to be considered a real one, at least in his mind) but was partly covered up by the fact that someone else had entered the shop. Turning around, he quickly looked to see it was boy, and then turned back around. The new boy approached the small group and asked if they were going to computers fixed. Adalia (he'd have to be sure to remember her name this time) introduced herself, and the other girl revealed that she was here for the same reason as the new boy. Kristian just kept quiet- he knew what was wrong with is machine, he just needed to find out how to get rid of it.

Dean steps in further, moving toward the chairs where they all sat. His ears practically glow with a red hue, as do his cheeks. One could easily attribute this to embarrassment, as the young man utterly radiated an aura of awkwardness. The way he speaks, the way he carries himself, and even the smile he offers toward the others in a small wordless greeting; all strangely awkward. His right hand lifts and slides along to the back of his head, removing the band that had been holding his hair in a ponytail. By doing this, he allows his hair to fall to the sides of his face to shelter and warm his ears. It was, after all, a bit chilly outside and the small headphones that plug into his iPod don't seem to work very well as ear muffs.

"Hello," he begins in the same timid voice. "The name's Dean." He flashes another awkward smile, bringing both hands to clasp behind his back. His head tilts slightly to the right, his left eye focusing now on Adalia as he frowns. "You're not the normal shopkeeper? Uhm... Does that mean that I'll have to return later?" Dean inquires, his voice soft and sad at the thought of losing more recipes by the time he could get his Mac fixed.

Nodding politely at Melee's soft refusal, Adalia turned her most charming smile on, hoping to coax her out of her shyness. She winced slightly when she heard the girl had eczema, she'd heard that could almost be painful with how dry the skin got.

Hearing the girl say she was looking to find out what was wrong with her machine made Adalia give a little laugh. Almost everyone always thought something was seriously wrong with their machines when they first came in. She'd just have to show them that there was nothing wrong with the cute little hackers, at all!

Shooting a wry smile at the shy handshake the boy with the sweatshirt had given her, Adalia concluded he would be her next subject. Shy, quiet people bothered her a bit, as she never knew quite what to do with them.

Turning her attention to the other boy, Adalia gave him a warm smile, which only grew after he let his hair out of the ponytail. Interesting guy... She waved in his direction and then towards the chairs nearest her. "My name is Adalia, please come sit with us!" Laughing a little at his question about the normal shopkeeper, and would he have to come back, she shook her head so that her hair flew about her face.

"Nope, you won't have to. I'm his kid sister - so I know how to answer your questions."

Melee noticed the wince but didn't comment, unsure whether it was a wince of disgust or of sympathy. Adalia seemed like a warm person however, and obviously perceptive, so Melee hoped it was the latter. She gripped the edges of her chair; it wasn't anything to complain about really. At least the condition was good for distracting herself and keeping her broody side at bay.

Melee looked up as - Dean, she recalled - approached. The boy loosened his hair and she blinked at him, fascinated by his pained expression and somewhat uneasy air. Most likely a hacker had eaten something precious of his too. She wondered absently if they were malicious. Judging from Adalia's laugh, these hacker things really did exist, but the website hadn't explained very well, all vague details and gaudy fonts. About the only useful thing on it had been this address.

"Adalia," she began, pausing a moment to catch the woman's attention, "I hope you will forgive me as I do not have any real expertise in this area, but these problems... They are caused by hackers, correct?" She trailed off, partly because she was unsure how to proceed and also because she was a little self-conscious about the way she spoke. Most of Melee's English had been picked up from textbooks. Aloud, her language had the tendency to sound formal and stilted.

Kristian looked over towards Dean, feeling a tad bit of sympathy for the boy- he knew more than anyone what it was like to be awkward. The question from the new boy brought attention to Adalia, and a few moments later, he heard those words- "I'm his kid sister."

Ack. He knew all about those, too.

The whole circle of necessary, awkward greetings was finally brought to an end as the foreign girl- Melonie or something like, that- started to get down to business. Upon hearing her question he let out a quick comment, barely audible, that sounded something like, "Ch'yea."

Looking up towards the ceiling, Kristian thought about all the problems his hacker had caused. It seemed that these people had hackers that were doing to same things- wreaking havoc on their computers, though the havoc may really only have been small inconveniences. Even still, it seemed like hackers were a rather troublesome bunch, almost malicious. The only thing that didn't fit into his evil hacker theory was his sister's own creature, Aiko- the young hacker was one of the friendliest creatures Krsitian had ever seen. ...Maybe they were nice when they were young and grew evil? It would be like Violetta to bring something evil into the house.

One thing didn't fit into his little theory though- if the creatures were bad, there probably wouldn't be a successful shop selling them. With that idea being brought to an end, Kristian decided he would just listen to what Adalia had to say about the creatures and go from there.
