Fenix sat quietly in the window of the Elder Spark shop, for almost two days now the sun refused to show it's face among the gray and cloudy days. It wouldn't be so bad if it was snowing, but instead every day was a dreary drizzle of rain and fog.
At this particular hour the rain had decided to go away, only a few drops would roll off the roof dropping pass the window which Fenix now bressed his nose too. I want the sun back, not even snowing so why should it be so cloudy?
Slowly the golden Kyunru flopped over sideways, staring still out the window, one of his forepaws dangled lazily over the edge swaying back and forth. Such a dull and rainy day.

This usually happened every year. First the weather would cool down, then there'd be wet. Snow would eventually come, which was his preference, but that wet before the snow always made him a bit annoyed. Fluffy fur when wet was such a heavy thing to carry. Tromping up onto the porch first, a very wet Winter Kyuria would pause and shake off his fur much like a dog would. Water would spray everywhere and his fur would be much fluffier and lighter to carry.
"...finally... some shelter..." he grunted before squeezing in the building through the Kyunru-flap.
"...why's this thing called a Kyunru-flap anyways? There are other critters running around this place too..." he managed to wonder aloud, figuring he was alone during this ugly day.

The steady though slowing drip had started to wreck it's evil ways on Fenix, every drop lulled him closer to taking a nap, and it wasn't the nice nap were you relaxed in the sun happily. More like one of those 'oh God I'm SO bored' kinda nap.
Somewhere in the distance the sound of the Kyunru-flap made a swish swish as it gave entrance to Lasuk. Slowly Fenix rose his head giving a slight yawn looking around to see who it was.
It's called that 'cuz Kyunru were the first ones around, so we used the door first. Course when we lived in the tree it was really hard to get to the top floors, lots of steps and elevator doodads to get around.

Not quite knowing where the voice came from, the Kyuria froze in place to take a look around. Somewhat challenging the voice, he pointed out "...perhaps this is true, but things get renamed all the time, so why is this place so old-fashioned that it sticks to just one title?"
Not quite seeing who was around, he made his way to where the Kyunru was without even knowing he was there. It was more coincidence than anything. It wasn't hard to see the Kyunru though, seeing as he was bright yellow. Perhaps he was as easy to see as himself in the normal non-winter landscape.
"...so... what sort of tree did you live in then? I never exactly have lived in one, so I wouldn't know what it is like..."

Fenix unlike the younger Kyunru had never bothered to learn English, choosing to speak either in yips and barks to others of his kind, or telepathy which was often his choice of conversation. The draw back was that unless he paid attention his voice really did just kinda float aimlessly.
While the other Kyunru stood out in bright white, Fenix had yet to pick him out with his sleepy blue eyes. Finally sitting up her swatted the sleep from his eyes before speaking again. Why change a name if it works ya-know? Would you change the name of Christmas? As for the tree? We called it the tree of Life, it was a really nice tree. But some angry people hurt the tree and we had to leave. I think we went home, you know were Kyunru came from before the nice people found us here.
Now more awake he started to pace his little window perch like a teacher on stage giving a class their lesson. That tree was even nicer, we lived in a little grove of some sort, but then we moved, and well... I kinda forget how to get back to it, had to go through some portal to find it, then we found this place!

"Tree of Life, eh?" Lasuk chuckled heartily. "Such a grandiose name for a tree... must have been important!" It didn't really seem like this Kyunru was even paying attention though. Even though the voice seemed to float about, the Kyuria seemed to know that the one conversing with him was the one before him.
"Considering most Kyunru have wings, I guess it makes more sense for them to be in trees! Us Kyuria... well... wings aren't our things!" He couldn't help but turn his narrowed eyes towards his own shoulders as best as he could. Nothing was there but fur.
Turning back, he figured he might as well attempt a conversation change. And what better topic than his own personal favorite: women!
"...so, buddy? You got a girl?"

Well considering it was the tree we lived in like one big family then I say it was pretty darn important! The golden Kyunru had finally stopped his pacing sitting now on the sil looking down at Lasuk curiously, it was the first time he had seen a Kyuria before.
Glancing at his own little wings Fenix gave them a slight ruffle, he always thought they looked nice folded up though he did aparently have tiny wings on his back, nothing for flying really. I never really bother with mine, too small for flying but they sure do look nice I guess.
He continued to glance at his wings opening and closing them simply for the sake of moving them for the first time in a while, deffinetly not meant for flight. He was still doing this when Lasuk changed the subject.
G-girls?? The sudden action of turning to face Lasuk caused Feinx to stumble a bit nearly toppling off the window sil. Well I umm know girls who are f-friends? See their was Twilight, we grew up together but she's usually busy so I don't see her much. And then their's Hong, she's very nice, and oh oh! Rhapsody is very nice too but uhhh... I don't 'have' a girl...

A large grin came to the Kyuria's maw as he watched this "boy" nearly have a heart-attack over the subject. It was not only because this Kyunru was apparently new to this field, but because he apparently knew that ridiculously childish Kyunru, Rhapsody.
"Woah now, fella! Don't get too excited there, buddy!" he chuckled, making certain this brightly colored Kyunru hadn't hurt himself. Fluffing up his fur a bit, he resumed rather "casual" conversation with this young bud.
"...so it sounds like you've been around the block a few times... they say that if I guy really wants a girl, they should make friends with one. You've made friends with three... you must be pretty sly..."
He smirked slightly. "So what's the favorite thing you look for in a girl, eh...?" There would be a slight pause. "...I don't even think I got your name yet, buddy? So what's your name? Mine's Lasuk!"

With a few more stumbles, a fluff of the mane and a moment of repositioning, Fenix sat up on the sil trying to look as though nothing had happened, a simple slip of the paws he would say.
Excited? Nah, never, not at all! Fenix fluffed his mane one last time taking a full and proper seat. Well I've been around here long as I can remember, but umm sly friends well I didn't, I never well... He ruffled his mane and scrunched his nose in irritation.
Favorite thing? Well, all of them are very nice, Hong is quiet, likes to read. She's just very quiet and nice like that. Twilight was always the strong quiet person though, like a leader. Also the first one I knew... and Rhapsody, she's just silly and nice, very playful.
He held a paw up high to 'wave' towards Lasuk, Hello Lasuk! I'm Fenix!

In his head, Lasuk couldn't help but wonder why it seemed that this creature wasn't really talking to him. Words were spilling to his ears, which caused them to momentarily flick forward, then back. Yet there was no movement of this Kyunru's maw at all. It was all definitely very strange.
"...nice is an overly used word, Fenix!" he had to point out. The other words described characteristics of the females he spoke of, but none really seemed to speak up about what he liked to look for in a lady. How utterly boring. He had found another male, and they were talking about females as if they were still juveniles. Letting out a sigh, he decided to try giving the other an idea as to how he wanted the conversation to go.
"...me... I like my girls to have gorgeous plummage. The girls with insect wings are okay, but they really don't make me purr the way I do when I see a girl with a nice pair of wings..."
Of course, he really was more talking about Kyunru girls with this description.
"...I also like my girls with some fluff to their fur. Sleek fur is okay, but it isn't something you can cuddle into on a cold night."
If his eyes didn't already look like they were both shut, maybe Fenix would have caught the wink which Lasuk then tossed at him, as if to give him permission to give this conversation another shot.

It was a somewhat rare case the way Fenix spoke, it's just how he had always gotten along, unless he decided to speak Kyunru, but that always confused the humans, so telepathic covered all bases. Some times in the middle of a speech he would even go as far as to yawn a little bit.
But it suits all three of them fine though! I'd hardly think I would call them anything but nice! He was playful, not a womanizer, he sought friends more then lovers. Still he was slowly picking up on what Lasuk really meant.
Well I gota admit... I like the fluffy ones... he then gave his own mane a ruffle, So nice to sit around with and just relax and enjoy an easy day. He shifted his maw about a bit, I guess Rhapsody is the only really fluffy one, Twilight and Hong are more sleek, but very pretty colors, nice and cool. I guess I like colors cooler then mine too?

Progress had been made! It was a miracle!! In Lasuk's head, a mini celebration was occuring, confetti and all. A big grin spread across his own maw as he seemed to home in a bit more, getting more familiar with the sunny-Kyunru.
"Ah, so you're a 'contrasting pelt' kind of guy too?" If he had been close enough to nudge Fenix, he would have. "I suppose you can't go wrong with a girl that's a different color. At the moment, any girl would really fit that description for me. Winter pelt just didn't want to go away this past year!"
Returning to the actual topic at hand, he then pointed out what seemed to be the trend: "...sounds like us fluffy-guys like ourselves fluffy-girls... I'm going to have to research this a bit..." The translation really was he'd ask more fluffy guys about their preferences and see if fluffy girls came to mind.
Seeing as he had gotten what he wanted from the conversation, he somewhat reverted to a more normal topic: "...so... what do you do around here for 'fun'...?"

I guess you could say that then, I tend to like almost anything though so long as it's nice and friendly underneath the colors. With a few hops Fenix made his way down the back of a chair near the window to settle on the floor beside Lasuk. Well winters rolled in a again so it would be a good thing your pelt dosen't just run off. Then again I always stay fluffed up like this so I'm no different in the end either.
Fluffy is just a nice added detail to some one! It's not all about the way they look you know? Just because they aren't fuzzy dosen't mean you shouldn't like them! He paused as if in mid thought, Except Gabe, he's prickly looking and just as grouchy in such cases...
Stretching out a bit Fenix turned again to Lasuk to address the issues of fun, Well I like to chase others around, sometimes go swimming in the stream not far from here. I also like to nap in sun spots, very relaxing. Snack stealing is fun too, just don't let the humans catch us in the kitchen stealing cookies. One of the oldest Kyunru he was still rather childish in some cases of how he spent his time, but thats just how he was in the end.

Just when Lasuk thought this guy had gained a few points in coolness, he lost them all with interest. His eyes would have squinted more if it were even possible. Was he getting lectured just now? Last thing he needed was a lecture. His eyes rolled a bit, despite such not even remotely being visible, then he decided to just listen rather than to talk. If he were to talk, his mood would probably be easier to note.
He promotes stalking and thievery, yet he can't handle a little bit of admiring of the ladies...? he couldn't help but think. Rather than respond, he seemed to have gone rather silent.

AS Luskan grew quiet Fenix grew quiet as well. It seemed that he disproved of his past times? Or maybe he was just thinking about fluffy girls again. Either way Fenix very casually lifted a paw to swat at his nose. Don't tell me your a sour puss like Gabriel, one of the oldest Kyunru I know and all he does is glare at stuff, complain, and glare some more while making smart remarks.
Regardless, Fenix didn't care, it was a rainy dreary day, he had to have at least someone to talk to even if they weren't as playful as his other friends.
