i'm looking to replace the pickups in my Jaguar
i'm thinking Seymour Duncans
and i'm thinking either
the Quarter Pound for Jazz BassĀ® SJB-3
or the Hot for Jazz BassĀ® STK-J2
Known artists for the Quarter Pound include: Mark Hoppus from Blink 182 and the Bassist from Ratt
for the the Hot For Jazz Bass artists include Duff McKagan
what are your thoughts on either pickup or your recomendations for Pickups
i'm looking for the Rock and Roll/Heavier kind of rock

I recommend DiMarzio model P's, punchy and warm, and it should just drop in without any modification, and on top of that, they're pretty cheap:

Definitely worth the cash I shelled out for them and i'd recommend them to anyone and everyone, as I just love them like no other. The best sounds ive ever heard come out of my bass were due to these pickups:

well let me say now my prefereces in tone are
Bass about 9 Low mids about 4 Mids about 7, High Mids about 7 and highs about 8ish 9ish
thats is i had a 4 band knob EW set
i have a Ten band EQ on my Amp, and thats about how i have my settings
maybe its more like
6 Low, 8 Low Mids, 7 Mids, 6ish 7ish High Mids, 7ish 8ish High Mids
anyway, i like a Bright Tone with a nice kick in it with a Nice Bottom on it, so basically anything through an All Tube Ampeg
but, i still want Bright Kick in the Chest.
i play alot of Funk aswell, so i'm diggin on the bright tone... but i like to boost the mids for finger playing, and scoop for slap...

Lindy Fralin's all the the way, have them in my Jazz, love 'em, nice and bright but have a lot of punch. Tad pricey though. http://www.bestbassgear.com/lindy-fralin-pickups.htm

Neodymium magnets in there, use the same ones in the EBMM Bongos, sound great.
