The juvenile's pride was still wounded but he had no regrets. Not really. If he had stayed that day then he might have got a scratch or worse, lost an eye! He knew it was for the best that he had fled but thinking abotu it now, he wondered if that had been for the best. He'd given the girl the upperpaw and now she thought she was better than him.

Well Yen Ha would have to do something to put that right. He'd have to construct a plan so brilliant that she would never doubt his brilliant mind again. His tail swished thoughtfully.

The white was stretched out on the bank of the waterhole, one paw outstretched to tap the surface of the water. He was watching the ripples with such intensity that one might think he had fallen into some sort of trance. He hadn't fallen into a trance, however. No, he had simply put on his plotting hat.

A fly buzzed around his ears, upsetting him into getting up and moving away from the water's edge.

He wasn't sure why he wanted to prove himself so much to her. Maybe deep down he rather liked Mzuza. She wasn't like the other girls he knew. In fact he had been considering to allow her to be his friend, that was until she attacked him. He cringed at the sight of claws and desperately hoped he wouldn't be on the receiving end of them anytime soon.

As for his plan. He hadn't thought of anything just yet. But he would, oh he would.

She had been contemplating her triumph over Yen Ha for the last few days, wondering how she had managed to flail out rather involuntarily twice in the short span of time during which she and Yen Ha had argued. Both times she hadn't quite done it on purpose, and both times had resulted in rather favorable reactions. Perhaps she should lose control of her limbs more often.

She padded along down the wellworn trail toward the waterhole. It was one of those days when the sounds of boisterous cubs weren't ringing in her ears. She had learned enough to realize that such a day was more a gift than anything else, and she had long since learned to enjoy the peace and quiet. She knew all too well that the serenity could be disrupted at any time.

Movement caught her eye. Ahead of her a young white lion was sprawled across the near bank of the waterhole, patting the water gently with the tip of his paw. Then he shifted and moved away from the water. He was still faced the other way. Mzuza dropped into a crouch and crept along, grateful for the path she was taking. This way she wouldn't disturb the grass and give her position away. She sidled nearer to the grass for concealment, taking calculated steps forward until she was close enough. Almost right behind him.

She paused a moment, considering pouncing. She decided against it, and straightened up in one fluid movement. "Hey!" She chirped brightly, hopping forward.

Murasame was still just so little though deep down he wanted to grow up big and strong like his father, just, not too soon. He envied all those that were older then him, especially males that were beginning to have their own mane. He wanted a mane...one bigger then a cub mane with stray fur here and there atop his head. He wanted to be a grand lion, just like his dad, he wanted his parents to be proud of him.

Yet he still couldn't roar!

He sighed, pouted as he jumped up to try and cling to a rock taller than he, he wanted t see over the grass that towered his frame as he weaved through it. Why'd he still have to be so small? Why had his siblings have to run around everywhere huh?

Frowning he jumped again, and slid down the stone again onto his rump.

Dumb stone, he was still too small for anything it seemed.

Yen Ha wasn't sure what surprised him more. The call from close behind him or the pot hole that he fell into. His front paws went out from under him and he slid down the dip in the earth on his chest, dirting his white fur. His green eyes squeezed shut as he tried to control his panic.

"W-wait please do--" He trailed off as the scent of the lion reached his nose and he realised, with some horror, who it was. That girl again! And as usual he was on the receiving end! When was it going to be his turn to play tricks? He rolled over in the dirt onto his back, his paws curled against his chest as he looked up at her.

Like Murasame, his mane had yet to grow through, it was beginning but wouldn't properly form until adolescence. He was smaller than the average lion too, which made him wonder if it would develop slower than his brothers' manes.

"Oh, it's you again." He huffed, pouting and frowning all at once. "Look at my fur!" He pulled himself up onto his paws and tried to wipe the dust and dirt from his chest, not realising it covered his back too. There was no way he could go back to mother so soon now. He was old enough to wash himself but he wasn't about to groom in front of this girl and let his guard down.

"How long did it take you to think that plan up, then?" Or worse yet...how long had she been watching him? He didn't like being spied on.

((Sorry for the lateness. I had a pretty hectic week last week xP))

Mzuza giggled as he slid headfirst into the pot hole, watching the small plume of sand rising up in his trail. Oh, what fun. She made her way over to the edge of the pot hole and peered over and down at Yen Ha with a wide grin. "See, now, that is just music to my ears," She said sagely, with a little nod to confirm her words.

For the first time, she realized how dirty white fur could get, seeing Yen Ha's coat all stained with dirt. She shook her head lightly. "Oh, dear, little one, what have you done with your coat?" She said, disappointment lacing her words. "Dearie me, what shall I do with you?" She trailed off as laughter bubbled up and she backed a step or two away from the pot hole to keep from falling over the edge.

She stopped laughing, then, and blinked her wide red eyes innocently. "What plan?" She asked indignantly. "I don't do plans, you see. Although I suppose now you're mad at me for making you fall." She frowned contemplatively for a moment. "Unless, of course, that was your own doing. You were the one who stood so close to that pot hole."
