My dog Whisper has cancer. I recently had a nasty tumor removed from her leg, but the lab sent back bad news. It was the kind of cancer that sends out "fingers" and spreads through the body. She is already developing more tumors on the leg that was operated on. I hate to have her put to sleep since she is still so happy and full of life, but I cannot afford more operations which would just buy her a little extra time anyway. She is the first dog that was actually mine, that I adopted by myself from the pound. She has been my friend for 13 years and I am going to miss her more than I can say.

The new tumor ballooned just like the last one and Whisper was unable to walk today, so I made an appointment and took her to the vet for the last time today. I really hope that there is such a thing as the Rainbow Bridge and that she will wait for me there.
