Dunia had decided that it had been too long since she first came here, without asking proper acceptance from the King of the lands. She had learned it's name, Maziko, but not much else of the lands themselves. Of the King? Plenty. She had been discovered by the Queen herself, Amleth, and had a chance meeting with a princess, the cute Nerissa. But she felt that it wasn't enough, and though she didn't sense any negative feelings her way about it, she still felt that it would be proper to meet the King, Duhishi.

The dark lioness wandered deeper into a heart of what she assumed were their pridal territory, hoping that she would run into him. She had hints as to what he looked like, and even his personality, but nothing was certain until you met whom you were looking for. Her sky blue eyes darted around, picking up shadows and leaves rustling, but nothing else. Perhaps he was out, again?

Duhushi stretch out over the tusk he was perched on. A rather precarious undertaking but he'd done it more than enough times to keep himself balanced. His tail flicked against the weather worn bone as he slid down it's curve to finally rest his paws on the ground. He'd stopped his patrol for awhile just to rest for a moment. Anyone who was foolish enough to risk the hyenas was worth his time. Until then, he was more than content with scouting around.

The King stretched out once more, yawned and started following the less traveled of his paths. He hadn't seen anyone around lately and it would certainly be a pleasant change to find someone on the positive end of the spectrum.

Dunia had still not seen a soul. Was today the wrong day to look? Perhaps. Her blue eyes darted around, scanning the terrain before her. Perhaps she would return to her den, the den that Amleth had offered her, and she would try again later. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon.

She had turned to leave, but found herself lost. Now, this wouldn't do at all. With a sigh, she picked her way that she thought would return her home. Her steps grew softer, though, as she thought that she heard something else nearby. What was that? Her heart raced at the thought of hyenas, as well as prayed that it was anything but hyenas.

Her eyes soon caught sight of a lion, though. A lion that looked similar to Amleth's description of the king. Was it really? She needed to know.

"Excuse me, sir?"

To that day, protecting the pride hadn't been a problem. No one ever came around the bones anyway. Of course, it was his job to wander aimlessly through his home and look for intruders. That's what he was there for so he continued walking. After almost turning back for the 4th time, his ears twisted towards a voice.

Well, so much for no one around. "Now who could that be?" He called out loud enough for the other to hear, scanning the area for whoever spoke.

Duhushi climbed up on one of the larger bones around him. He hadn't encountered anyone besides hi own family so it would certainly be something different for once.

Dunia remembered her manners, and offered a deep bow to the presumed lord of the lands. "I am but a humble lioness, asking for a place to live, perhaps here. By word of Amleth, are you, by chance, Duhushi, the King of these lands?"

While she chose her words carefully, she also made sure to keep her intent quick, and blunt. In that way, he would know that at least she wanted to live here, and he could ask her whatever other questions he wanted answers to to follow.

"Oh, but excuse me, I didn't introduce myself. I am called Dunia. I was rescued by Lady Amleth after a brutal hyena attack, and she had invited me to stay here until I had healed from my wounds. Thankfully I healed quickly, but I wanted to ask if I could live here, for a prolonged about of time."

So she had talked to Amleth about living here? At least his Queen had kept herself busy. Maybe there was some hope for their pride after all.

"Yes. I am the King of this place. It may not be much but we've held together well."

He studied her quietly before making up his mind. "If my Amleth believes that you are trustworthy then you are definitely welcome here for as long as you like Dunia. Everything here is yours. Just makes sure to stay away from those hyenas. They bother us every once in awhile but thankfully they don't come too close to the center. That would be a perfect place to stay and heal."

Duhushi nodded, scratching his claws against bone. "What brought you here in the first place? It's far from any other prides I know."

Dunia couldn't help but shiver when he mentioned the hyenas that lived by. SHe sadly knew too well just what they were capable of. Hopefully the huge scar on her thigh would disappear with returned growth of fur, but it was doubtful.

"Well, in all honestly, sir, just the hyena attack. I have been homeless for many moons, though, and it would be comforting to have a place to call home, a cave to sleep in. The security in that, I will never take advantage of it again," she said, confirming with a nod.

"I originally hail from lands to the north," she added on, though making it apparent that she did not want to go into detail about her past that much, either.

"Now you no longer have to say that you are homeless." He nodded. The hyenas had obviously gotten to her. It wasn't safe to be wandering around the graveyard alone like that or in any condition for that matter.

"We have plenty of room for you to stay until you wish to leave."

Honestly, he hoped she would stay. They needed more in their pride. More than he'd want to admit. It was too small for his liking so, he supposed, a bit of coercion was in order. "The north?" He'd never traveled beyond the pridelands. Not that he was very good at directions anyway.

"Well, I've certainly never been there. What was your home like if I may ask?"

Dunia was a bit disappointed that he had asked, but it seemed that not many seemed to meet from lions of much northern lands. It was alright, though, she would make sure to let him know a bit.

"I used to live with a traveling band of lions. We would do what we could for other lions, merely trying to make a meal. It can easily be summed up that I was deemed unneeded by my old band, and one of the other females had chased me away. I knew no other life, so I wandered down here. I was fine until the hyena attack, and now I am nervous that another could happen if I kept up my wandering habits."

She flushed a bit, but flashed the king a smile. She wasn't lying, she just didn't get into all the details of why she got kicked out. He really didn't need to know those embarassing times when she was younger.
