The morning was still sleeping, the moon still waning toward the horizon, and the stars still shown above. The herds have fallen asleep not too long ago but their lookouts have stayed awake and remained on guard only to prove not everything was still at night. The nocturnal hunters roamed the Rogue Lands without hinder, their cries of the night startling some. If it were not for his size, and his species, he and Mwana would have been attacked a long time ago. For once, he was glad his size was useful like his half-brothers; able to protect without the need of force. Trigger had been awake for some time, his head resting lightly on Mwana's, licking her softly in hopes to soothe her sleep into a dream of utter bliss. Beside him was the snoozing meerkat, using his feline tail as a form of blanket. The remnants of last nights meal was still around them, he made sure he had not eaten so Mwana could have her breakfast before they left that morning.
However, Trigger wanted to make sure whatever she was mad about was over and to start out with a clear mind. That will have to wait for her to wake up first... but he was enjoying the moments he had just watching her. He had soften up quite a bit with her for a while but when she had her tantrums, it just reminded him of his own. The chance of him going into a trantrum were slim when he was her because he got out his anger other ways when he left her side for small periods of time. His half-brother being a masochist, it helps. ... Being away from Kinari's usual travel routes, he won't be able to drain himself of his frustration, this walk would be rather dangerous but he could not tell if Mwana even knew about it. Hopefully, Fuku will keep his maw shut.
Softly, he continued his purr and licking.

Mwana had not cleared her thoughts when she had returned for the night. No, it was quite the opposite. For while she had been raging and ranting before, now she was planning. She had to figure out a way to best her sister! The idea of being beaten by someone, especially her no good half sister, was like poison to her mind. She needed a resonable remady. Sleep was only a momentary pause; when she woke she was sure to be muddling over the problem once more.
She slowly began to stir, her ears flicking slightly before her eyes even opened, perhaps as a response to the grooming. Letting out a drosey breath she slipped one silver orb open, though her vision barely focused and remained hazed with sleep.

Trigger smiled as he watched her first movements of the new day. Her ear twitched just as he was licking it. He could tell that she was opening her eyes by how her fur moved ever so slightly. With a slight purr, he nudged her head slightly. "Good morning, Mwana, I didn't wake you did I?" it still felt weird when he talked like that! There was no growl! There was no anger or ticked off in his tone; nothing seemed to be the same as before. However... his goal was to please her, even if a litter to get her to become a friend to him. She has been the longest female to have stayed with him and he has grown a little attached.... just a little.
With another soft licked, he inched from her, moving paws and all from her body for her to get up and do what she wanted. If she wanted to come back down to rest; then she was fine to do so. He did not want to say much of anything and let her be herself for the moment.

She stretched her maws slowly, spreading the toes on her front paw with a delicate lack of speed. Then she lifted her head, moving bangs from her eyes as she moved to rest on her haunches. She did not answer until then, but when she did she turned one dark ear, "Mm...no, you didn't." One couldn't sleep forever, after all. She was no different.
Apart from that, however, she didn't say anything. It was because, now that she was awake, the cogs and wheels in her mind had started moving again. She had come to an inkling of a solution yesterday but...the decision was still be muddled over within her mind.

Trigger stood up, causing the sleeping meerkat to fall over under him, still sleeping and snoring. His eyes fell down to the little critter, smiling a little at the snoring that he had grown used to as a cub and sort of picked it up himself. With a loud, feral yawn and a stretch that produced a few cracking noises of popping joints. The larger lion stood up tall before scooping the meerkat onto his back. His face seemed to melt back into a slight scowl.
"If you are still tired, we can wait. If not, we can get started, I have a lion waiting for us on the way there."

Mwana paused, and her mouth formed a slim line as she did so. Another lion? If they were going to have company...it was best that she decide if she was going to bring up the matter. And now with the "pressure" of time, she felt more inclined to do so. But first, she wanted to know about this stranger. She certainly didn't like the idea of traveling with someone else. What if they were a filthy little scumbag? She was a lady! She could hardly put up with such company.
"Who is joining us?" She questioned, slipping slowly to her paws as a sign she was fine with leaving.

"He is my half-brother it seems. He is very small, in fact, about your size, perhaps smaller. He'll be joining us much later in the journey and be leaving before we reach our destination," he replied. That much was true, he only needed Kinari, the half-brother, for the journey and nothing more. He wanted someone who he could beat on if his temper rose. Having Fuku being jealous of Mwana having the lion's attention, he predicted that the little meerkat would push him closer to the edge. He was trying to please Mwana and try to be, by Trig's words, "Gentlemanly" toward her. However, being so made him feel weird all around. He still scowled, he still growled, his voice will always retain the harshness it always had, but the way he used the words were the only way one could see them as good. His gestures were out of obligation, but he was trying to make her feel comfortable. He would rather have someone to talk to than a walking husk of quiet thinking. With Kinari, he can beat on him and have Mwana safe.
He looked at her for a moment. What was she thinking? Why ask a question like that? To further comfirm that she was alright, "Mind you, I will be here to protect you even from him. You don't need to worry about him, I'll make sure he'll leave you alone if we actually keep him around that long."

Half-siblings was not a subject Mwana wished to be on. Since Trigger seemed to show no hostility to sharing "half" his blood with another it was definately not a topic she was eager to dicuss. It also made it obvious that she would have to tolerate this sibling of his and treat him as any other relative, to stay on Trigger's good side. What an absolute pain. "I see," she murmured agreeably, not wanting to argue on the topic or seem disdainful about it. For in reality, it was the least of her worries right now.
She continued to follow behind him, quite for a few moments before she began, casually and slowly, "Trigger...going into a high position in the pride, you'll be needing heirs...the sooner the better, I would say." Perhaps the topic might seem shameless, but it was better then what she was thinking in her mind...which was more of a demand then a suggestion.

Trigger continued on, looking ahead, determined and rather emotionless. He spoke without having to look back at her. He saw nothing wrong with the mention of his brother, at least there would not be anything wrong until he was with him. Kinari, out of all his half-siblings, was the most annoying and the one everyone wanted to beat and silence. However, he was still family and with their broken bonds, they had to stick together some how.
"My half-brother will be fine, you will too. If he troubles you any, I will punish him if you like," he spoke. Actually, he would be more than happy to. A good masochist like him was for good venting.
His steps stopped and then picked up at the sentence she had spoken. That comment. He scoffed.
"A high position could be anything, Mwana. Heirs would be meaningless unless I was a ruler of a Pride. By the way Ahali made it out to be, he sounded like he could care less of what I was. Even if I were some sort of leader and needed heirs, I would need to find a female to proclaim as mate and the mother of said cubs," he replied. He smirked a little. "Then again, I can simply force Ahali to give me such a position."
Not that he really could or want to for the matter.

Mwana tried to keep the irratation from her face. If Trigger was anything, he was inconsistant. She was tired of him failing to take a stance; one day he said with certainty it would be one way, the next it was completely up in the air. It was grating on the lioness's nerves and making it impossible for her to cope. "You're waffling again," she clipped curtly, "But your rank was not what I was trying to address. You will get a high one, you said so and I wouldn't have any doubts of such things anyway." Or so she said. If it had not been for Afu, his uncertainty in his own position would have put her off to pushing the point. But her half-sister made her more irrational, for she had a strong lust to keep up. She couldn't fall behind.
"As I was saying, you'll need heirs...those of high rank always do, regardles if it's a leader or an advisor. As for the female..." her gaze was sharp, eyes hooded and mouth formed into a tight line, "If you're missing that point then I must be a lump useless fur."

"If pushing your buttons is a crime to Rogue Lands, then have a God strike me down," he smirked and shook his head. He sort of grew to like having her yell at him or the arguing, it made things a little more interesting. However, he did not want it to get to the point that it stressed them both out, after all, when lions stress, their mane starts to bold some. That is something he did not want, some females like it. He turned his head so he, and she, can see one another. "If you are offering yourself up like a common female seeking a male during her heat out of desperation, how can I say no?"
He turned his head back as he walked on. He had no real idea how a pride really worked. Most of his life, he was treated like a slave to a common Firekin border guard or whatever the hell he was called. He never interacted with anyone but his father, his mother, and Fuku. How a pride worked was above his head. What one called a "high position" could be just about anything knowing Ahali. But Afu was of the better judgement and she would give fair rights to a good position... if neither do, well, there were going to be heads a knocking. Turning back onto the subject he thought of Mwana carrying his cubs. She was a rather delicate female, she did not like to get her paws dirty it seemed. He knew how he was during a female's heat, the time where feral thoughts became everything. It was only during these times where he could never get his tantrums. It was only during these times did it seem like he could do anything. He knew during those times, any time for the matter, Mwana could get hurt. Considering the females he had mated with before, he had never fathered a single cub. They have returned once or twice to show him the product of their love making and give thanks before leaving, never to be seen again. He sighed and continued to walk at a steady pace.
"Mwana, I won't let you have my cubs."

Mwana was furious. He might have thought his comments were funny and harmless, but she believed quite the opposite. How dare he call her common! How dare he compare her to a roving slut! She felt cornered by her lack of options, and what's worse, she felt attacked. Where her others sisters could keep there cool, she could not. Pride was one of the few things Mwana had left. "You won't let me? Ha! What male in his right mind would say such a thing?! Obviously it's something else!" She stopped as he continued walking, ears flicking back as she yelled at him, "You're probably infertile! Or your manhood doesn't work properly! Or you're gay!" Perhaps the comments were harsh, but such attacks were instinctive. When lashed at emotionally, wouldn't one normally lash back? It was the only way she knew how to response, anyway.

Trigger stopped as he turned back at her with a snarl, he reached over his shoulder and tossed the sleeping meerkat away. The impact made him wake with a startle, causing him to get up, looking at the two. Trigger was facing Mwana, a growl could be heard from where he was. It was obvious that he was not needed and it was not safe to tread near. He felt sorry for Mwana for this may be the very first time that she will see him get mad. The meerkat's tail tucked low as he ran off somewhere.
"Infertile!? Do you take me for some fool!? I have made many of damn females pregnant because their ******** mates cannot produce the cubs they desired! I work just fine, mind you, I can use it now if I wanted to! And don't you dare call me that word! Do not compare me to my low-life half-brother!"
He snarled, swiping hard at her flank, his eyes narrowed and his fangs bared. A growl erupted constantly from within as his body seemed to loom over her as a Firekin would normally. He was not afraid to hurt her-no, in fact, he wanted to. He let out a loud roar before storming over toward her.
"Infertile!? Unable to mate!? Gay!? Do you want me to prove you damn wrong, Mistweaver Brat!?"

Mwana jumped as he attacked her, something she had definately not expected at all. The unfamiliar sensation of warm blood pooling through her skin hit her as his claws sliced through her side. She tumbled backwards into the grass, her attempt at dodging having failed but perhaps saved her from something serious in her slip of footing. As he bounded to tower over she managed only to sit up halfway, her haunches still twisted beneath the rest of her body. And though tears formed instictively in her eyes from the pain she wasn't used to her jaw set hard, glare going through the blur of salt water, "Then what is wrong with you? Am I not good enough for you and your amazing skills or what?" Fury made her blind, but for the moment it protected her. It kept her from the foolish morning of her figure, cut by claws, and the shame of being so unlady-like with her screaming like a banshie. It was her fault and yet her only protection against herself.

He roared again before planting his paws on each side her so that he was slightly over her, growling down at her. Face to face with a lady and a beast. His emerald eyes seem to grow deeper, almost feral. He snarled over her as the roll became almost deafening to himself.
"BECAUSE I CANNOT FATHER THEM!" he snarled out before pulling himself away from her. Almost instantly, he started to pace back and forth nearby. His mind was in a haze as words just came, his mind was not clear. He wanted to hurt her, he wanted to prove her wrong, but he himself stopped himself. He snarled with each turn as his paws pressed hard into the ground.
"I mate because I am a male, we seek females to please ourselves in our feral states,"
"Females seek the strongest individual to produce the best cubs,"
"I have mated countless of times, many females, many more cubs,"
"But never. NEVER. have I ever touched them,"
"Never have I ever got to talk to them,"
"Never have I got to see them more than once,"
"I preferred it that way, I can't father a damn thing, I'm too ******** dangerous,"
He stopped as he shot a glare at her. "Look at you, even you are ******** hurt. I spent the last ******** moons trying to be good, trying to make you happy. But all you do is whine, complain, and ******** mope around like a pathetic cub wanting something. Something I do not know because you won't even talk to me! What do you expect me to do, huh!? Do you want to give you cubs?! Is that what you want!? What the hell do you want from me!?"
Fuku sat behind a large boulder, resting there himself with his paws over his head. He had seen Trigger get mad many times. He had seen him kill his own father like this. He had seen him in his most feral state of mind where he would even attack his closest friends. Fuku had tried time and time again to soothe the savage Moto, but he could do nothing. He knew some things that would soothe him instantly, but he would never attempt them himself. Actually, from what he had heard, something the female would do would soothe him, how she felt now about after being attacked was questionable. But there was the other option; Fuku silenced himself as Trigger let out another roar as he swipped at the ground, causing rocks to fly into the air, nearly hitting Fuku.
