 The Elephant Graveyard hasn't always been as teeming with hyenas as it is at the current, in fact, it was teeming with anything. It was a barren wasteland. Animals came there to die, to complete the last leg of that long journey called life. Dusty, drab, and dead, not many species of animal chose to live there.
But, as lion prides grew, the graveyard became a place of exile. Unwanted lions were sent there to die, but predominantly, it was where the hyenas were eventually chased off to. They were expected to die, but being natural born scavengers, the Graveyard was a haven to them. Scraps of perfectly fine meat littered the place, it gave them peace from the lions, a place to call their own.
It was at around this time that conflict hit the Pridelanders, a lion pride bordering the graveyard. Two brother eligible for the throne, a position that one, Mufasa, obtained. Taka, or Scar, as he was dubbed by the not too intelligent hyenas, left the pride for good, eventually coming across the Elephant Graveyard.
There he discovered a hyena pack led by Shenzi, a cunning female and two of her loyal followers, Banzai and Ed. The hyenas accepted Scar, and followed him dutifully, even into war with his old pride. But, Taka was defeated, even his own hyenas turning on him. His reign had come to an end. Eventually, Taka was lost to the plague that would also take many hyena lives.
The hyenas were fine on their own, running their own disorganized form of a pack, running amuck around the graveyard and doing as they pleased. Many left the graveyard eventually and what was worse, many also fell ill and died of the same plague that was taking the lives of so many lions. Taka also died of this plague. Now, the land was barren once more, with only a few lone pups left.
-More current history-
Here, Mafa, one of the lone pups that tagged around with the hyenas from the old pack enters. Cold hearted and angry from past events, Mafa carried with her a hatred for the whole lion species. After a short leave from the pack lands, Mafa returned, disheartened that all her own companions where nowhere to be seen. Not long after, Mafa stumbled across Tukutu, a hyena she had known since she was young. With Mafa as alpha, and Tukutu as a close consort, the two decided to revive the pack.
Since then, Mafa has been rounding up hyenas to rally for her cause: extermination of the lion kind. And, to her extreme dislike, a small pride of lion has assituated itself within the outer borders of the graveyard. Led by Kikausha, a lion Mafa considers the worst of them all, the Maziko lions have not been accepted by the hyenas in the center of the graveyard at all. With their numbers and spirits growing, the hyenas hope to banish the lions once and for all.

Description: Being born in the Graveyard, Mafa has always considered it her home. In her pup hood, she made good friends with the members of the old pack that reigned the Graveyard, but they too, are now gone. After being infromed of the death of her family, Mafa grew cold and left the Graveyard as it was. She returned a few months later, determined to bring the hyena species back to a noble standing. A fateful meeting with an old aquaintance, Tukutu, encouraged Mafa to start up the pack from scratch, with all the old members dead, she was free to reign it herself. Now a powerful and cold hearted alpha, Mafa will let nothing stand in her way as she fights to take down the lions and win back the respect that the hyenas deserve. Tukutu

Description: Tukutu is happy being a lackey of Mafa, though sometimes he gets frusterated and bites back at her. He's laid back, loves to sleep, and doesn't much give a damn what others think about him. He's got a little 'thing' for Mafa, but more of the 'old' Mafa that only he knows about.
Deep down, there's a piece of him that cares about the others around him, but it would take just too much effort to be nice to all of him, thus Tuk being...Tuk. Rasuli

Description: A smart hyena, striving to rise in the pack and gain power. Only Mafa he considers above himself, although he is fond of a young eager pup, Fritt, whom he considers something of an apprentice. As a pup himself, he nearly died when the plague killed his mother and uncle. Starvation, thirst and weariness caused him to hallucinate and he now thinks a god spoke to him in his time of need. Certain coincidences have only confirmed this in his mind. He now knows the evil of lions, how they sent the plague, drove the hyenas to the barren graveyard and now wish to take that single territory from them too. He will do everything in his power to return his species to the status it deserves.  Tibuka

Description: Not quite as laid back as he was in his youth, Tibuka has sprouted into a rather mean hyena. Unmotivated towards many things, he's got a short, snappy temper, especially when tires, though he does his best to keep his cool. After getting in a few scraps with lions, including on in which he chased out the Maziko queen, Ishara, Mafa granted him with a 'promotion' of sorts. He was to be the nanny of her son, Mabozi. Description: Mabozi is Mafa's only pup, though he was born with a sister, who was stillborn. Mafa blames Mabozi primarily for taking away his sister, who could've been her heir. Unliked by a vast majority of the pack for his happy-go-lucky nature, Mabozi doesn't really seem to mind it. He loves everyone and everything, except for lions, which he has an insane fear of thanks to his mother and her stories. Mabozi is stupid and useless to Mafa's cause, thus his name, but he might just have potential to fight, due to his large size, if and only if he can wise up by adulthood. Schatz

Description: Frit and her sister (Schatz) escaped from a small human holding where their mother and father were kept. Having slipped through the bars, the last words their father told them were simple: Go to the graveyard, become real hyenas and tell noone of your past. Frittilaria sticks by these rules and strives hard to become a real hyena.
Eager to please, Frittilaria will do anything to get respect and adoration from others, even if that means getting herself in to trouble.
Perhaps one day this will change as she gets older, but at the moment, she will perform any task to fulfill her father's wish of becoming a real hyena.  Angaza

Description: Cocky, although he's actually on the small end of the spectrum. Because of his size, he learned to be crafty, and to think on the go. He's not sure what he thinks of the wild sort of hyenas. He was born in captivity, and taught of the wild by the occassional wild-born hyenas who were brought to the Central Park Zoo. When one of the females bit the keeper, the entire lot was dumped in Africa, and Angaza learned to put his mind to work. He's also somewhat quick, particularly because he looks for escape routes constantly Just In Case.  Zoma

Description: A seldom seen hyena in the vast area of the graveyard, mainly due to the fact she has a horrible sense of direction and is constantly lost. Zoma is incredibly carefree, chipper and upbeat - sometimes overbearing in her sunny disposition - but shouldn't be counted as a dimwit or an airhead; her brain does work. She can be rather sarcastic from time to time, mocking others especially if they're cranky.
Zoma was born to a nomadic pack outside of the graveyard, but because of harsh conditions, they didn't make it and slowly dwindled in numbers until she and her mother made it to the graveyard where a young Zoma was ultimatly left alone to defend for herself. Kelello

Description: Kelello pretends to be an obediant and quick-serving slave to her captors, but the truth of the matter is, she is just like any other wild dog pup; full of mischief and more than willing to pull a prank or two. Although she fears Tibuka, her pupsitter, and Mafa's wrath, she finds it a game to deliberately disobey them without their knowing. Quite often, this results in a harsh beating.
She's often a happy-go-lucky and clever pup, although remains oblivious to the world around her, which is shadowed by the pack of hyenas. Unaware of the existance of other wild dogs, she prefers to remain in the safety of her pack than escape in hopes of freedom.

Description: Kim' is a very sneaky, grovelling hyena male that is not as pleasent as most male's should be to female's.
He can be flirtatious if he wants to be, however, he can also be crossed badly. He was born in the Graveyard, during the reign of Shenzi by a subbordinate female called, Onura.
Abused by his mother and sister's as a pup, he still resent's his father for leaving him with his mother.
It was only when he was old enough did he leave the Graveyard to find a pack of his own and enfore the fact that male's should be the dominant species. And not female's. However, sadly, whever he went there was alway's some female getting in his way. It's only now has he returned, but sadly, he has not made the best of impressions on Mafa.

Description: Ahsante travelled for a while, his parents deceased; he had no reason to stay where he was. He did not meet many others, but heard whispers of the graveyard and of its strange inhabitants. Lions and hyenas. He had a dislike for lions, always had, so he went to look around, see what he would find, after all, if he found the two living happily, well goodness knows what he would do, luckily, he didn't.

Description: A female who sees males as muscle-headed, overconfident idiots. Females are the ruling sex in the struggle of life. Description: Kivu was exiled from his birth pack many years ago, and since then, he has kept many secrets about his past to himself. He tends to hide his insecurities by cracking jokes when the subject comes up, although beneath the happy exterior, there lie feelings that are a little more sinister.
Past aside, he’s fine to get along with at the most part… though, he is a total sleaze, and a very flirtatious one at that! He does have a certain attitude concerning those with less power than him... Kivu does tend to look down on people. However, he will willingly obey the commands of any Lords that rule over him.

Description: Neus grew up alone and beyond a few brief, foggy images he has no memory of parents or siblings. Although originally carefree and open, the pup has since grown colder towards the world. His encounter with the lion Nyek gave him more than just a crippled leg; it gave him a keener sense of danger and a greater caution. Neus has become a grim young hyena and is hard to get close to. However, once his frienship is earned, it lasts forever.

Description: Kilima is a hard and somewhat cool creature, she does not do the "make friends" thing well, but she is very fiercely loyal, And has some wit to her. She's not exactly mean, but not friendly either. She cannot remember where she came from shortly before she decided to join the Pack, her memories gone but a few. She hates how hyenas are considered to be lower class, and one of her main goals, even though she rarely speaks of it, is to be respected and perhaps even feared. All she remembers is being in water, drowning when she was younger, and then something had saved her, but she could not remember. She believes she was injured and so lost her memory.

So, what to join the pack? Getting in isn't all that hard! Just make sure you read the pack history, and the personalities of all the other pack members before you decide if this pack is the best place for your hyena. PM this form to the mule. (Same goes for wild dog slaves)
