Naina's last meeting with her brother had gone surprisingly well. She had even held him to some pleasant conversation.. Or as pleasant as the ever shielded stallion would allow.
She had been tired lately, and she rested against the trunk of a old willow tree that was growing right outside the forest.
She hadnt seen Amaroq in forever, and even moving close to him had made him just as inaccessible as he had been before.
She sighed. She was always alone these days, and the alone-ness seemed to be digging at her bones. She had once been the kind of mare who despised company. She MUCH preferred to be by herself that time.
But now, she had run everyone off, she was beginning to feel how lonely it all really was.
She also kept feeling like she was more of a mutant in herself. Half Alicorn ghost, part vampire. It just wasnt.. Natural.
She had even met the brute father called Richard. Richard and Jean hated each other, and their animosity was obvious. But they didnt fight each other, and father always said if there was one stallion who needn't fear Richard, it was Jean himself.
Lowering her head to the ground, her mind raced in thought.

Pounding hooves, deep breaths as steady as the tide, and the musical trill of laughter lit the forest with the joy of friendly competition. The front runner whinnied sharply, calling back a taunt over his shoulder.
"Come on you flying rat." Imrikalto fairly sang to Aureate, chuckling as he doubled his efforts and increased his lead over his winged step-brother. "What would father say to see you loafing about?"
"Impudent scamp!" Aureate snapped back, his tone laughing and light. "I shall run you into the ground."
Pinning his great black and gold wings to his back, he arched his neck and stretched his legs, slowly catching up with the silver shape ahead that was Imrikalto. When within reach, he nipped at his godbrother's haunches, laughing when Imri leapt to one side.
"Got you." He said smugly, pulling even with the younger stallion.
Stride for stride the pair galloped along, laughing and joking in the brigh day.

Naina saw them coming. Saw the two stallions who were going to.. They were going to trample right over her if she did not stand right away.
She jumped to her feet, her amethyst orbs wide and almost scared. She didnt fear evil, but she feared getting squished by large stallions, most bigger than her by two Soquili!
"Hey! Please do be careful!"
She called out as she jumped out of their way, sidestepping so as not to get tackled.
She narrowed an eyebrow, and her eyes looked peevish.
"Please do keep watch over where youre going.. Some of us have been having a hard day."
She said, almost inaudible, but she was sure they had heard her.
She had been having the most terrible day. If anything, she was tempted to let them continue on their way, herself under their flying hooves.
Oh.. If only she were THAT lonely.

Aureate, having just stretched himself past his silver godbrother, nearly yelped in surprise as a dark-colored mare leapt up out of nowhere, practically in the middle of their path. Flinging his wings wide he practically sat down on his haunches, digging his hooves in to stop himself from his headlong gallop.
His wings remained open to catch Imri should the silver male be unable to stop himself. "WHOA!"
Imrikalto watched Aureate's haunches drop, sliding to slow his speed and trying not to run into his brother as the darker male stopped. Taking Aureate's own move, he sat down himself, skidding to stop just short of Aureate's delicate wings. He nudged the expanse of black and gold feathers aside, staring.
"Where did you come from my lady?"

She motioned to the ground of which she had just risen, and looked back at them, here eyes glowing.
"I was resting. I never thought I'd almost get run over from doing so."
She said, but a hint of tease was in her voice as well. She wasn't angry, merely spooked, and now that teh spook had been lifted, she no longer was concerned with what had just happened.
"My name is Naina. Who are you two?"
She asked, looking to the silver one and then casting her eyes on the Winged black and gold stallion. What a cutie he was.<3

'A mare who looked at a stallion like that had no business being out here alone...' Imrikalto thought to himself with a smile, watching his godbrother swell like a prancing peacock when the mare's admiring gaze fell upon him.
"I am Imrikalto, son of Sibalto and Firefly... This is my Godbrother Aureate, son if Erik and Sekhmet, the Phantom of the Sky, most call him..." He rumbled smoothly, smiling. "I apologize we disturbed your rest, Lady Naina..."
Aureate stood and shook out his long, long tail, fluttering and folding his wings just so. This lovely lady had appeared out of nowhere... And there was a certain mystery about her that intrigued him. "Well met, Lady Naina... As my godbrother stated, I am Aureate... You may call me that, if you wish..."

Such titles they gave themselves! It reminded her of her father. After all, she had an outrageously long name as well.. Naina Juliana Belle Morte. Her sister had told her it was bad to go around introducing herself as such. She had said to say Naina was just as good. So Naina had decided never to introduce herself with her full name. Now she wished she had.
"Pleasure to meet you both!" She said, a smile creeping onto her face. How adorable they were. One was a dappled grey, but had parts of dappled red as well. Adorable. The other was black with a rose of gold wrapped around his leg.
"I have no fancy title to say, so I hope I am still worthy of your time."
She said winking.

Imrikalto's natural charm came bubbling to the surface, and he swept her his most magnificent bow. Tucking one foreleg beneath his great chest, he stretched the other out and touched his muzzle to his hoof.
"Never say such a thing, Lovely Lady." He murmured. "Assuredly you are worth out time, it is to our good fortune that we stumbled upon you today, and your's that we did not run you over, no?"
He winked playfully and straightened.
Aureate too bent himself in a bow, though this time he remained standing and merely dipped his muzzle to the ground. Flaring his wings wide and up for a moment, he returned them to his back as he gazed at her again. "Imrikalto speaks true... We are most honored by your company, Lovely Naina."

Lovely. Had she been so complimented as a filly, she would have grown to be much like her father. She considered it a good thing that she got her mothers fine points, over her fathers seductiveness.. Okay, Okay.. So she was a mare who liked to entice.. But didn't all mares?
"Very good luck indeed, Imrikalto. Very good luck indeed. And might I say, it is truly an honor to meet you both. Not every day you meet stallions with clear intentions and proper etiquette."
She said, flicking her tail and winking at them.

"Clear intentions?" Aureate asked, all doe-eyed innocense... A smile slowly curled across his mouth, laughter dancing in his eyes. "Are we so bald in our intentions, madam? Should we try harder to mask?"
He flared a wing in front of his godbrother's face, turning his head so his own mask glinted in the light...
Peeking through the fan of his brother's feathers, Imrikalto gave Naina a smile and a playful wink. "I believe, brother, that the lady is complementing our forwardness, rather then lamenting we are not like every other stallion she has met... Unless I am hearing wrong, she rather likes the difference.... Is that not so, Lovely Naina?"

"That is so." She said nodding at Imri, her smile light hearted and kind. But then her eyes went to Aureate.
"What are you two doing out here? Other than running over little mares like myself?"
She asked teasing.

"With such a lovely lady to trip over, where else could we be?" Aureate flattered gallantly. "Just the usual youthful foolishness I'm afraid, Lady Naina... Racing and being stallions..."
He shrugged, folding his wings to his back.
Imrikalto nodded, shifting from hoof to hoof for a moment. "And steering clear of our sisters." He added honestly.
