No snow.
No females.
No love.
As the winter-coated Kyuria gazed outwards towards the horizon, these thoughts couldn't help but linger upon his mind. He had been in this place for almost a year now, and he had still yet to find any female of his species. Sure, Kyunru ladies were just as lovely, but he couldn't help but desire a female Kyuria to keep him warm on a cold night. Well, aside from his thick fur.
As Lasuk rested on the porch of the Incense shop, one more stray thought came to mind: Ah yes... no babysitting! A sigh of relief escaped him. True enough, his house-mate, Rhapsody, was an adult now, but even then, in her company he still felt as if he was babysitting. To be away from duties such as those, he didn't mind. However, he definitely did not desire to have no company at all!
I suppose the cool weather shall be my only company for now. Maybe if I am lucky, some sweet little lady will come by and ask for my company! Wishful thinking, perhaps? At least this Kyuria was optimistic.

Neffiline had finally managed to get out of her over-protective mother's grasp. She trotted about the road, on her way to the Elderspark shop. She was a curious little one, and always wanted to learn more about other creatures like her. Her parents had told her many times that all the kyunrus, palas, kun-kuns and others a-like, were usually found about the incense shop more than anywhere else. Great! That made it easier for her since she didn't have to actually 'hunt' them down. The young kyun arrived in front of the shop just a few minutes later. And to her excitement, there was a creature laying on the porch. He looked rather bored, considering it was a male. She wasn't too sure yet. Neffi took a few steps forward, observing him in silence. One thing she learned, was to be cautious. Certain creatures could be very nice, but others could be... rather unsociable. He didn't look to harmful, so she walked over and put a paw on the first step, as if waiting for permission to come up to sit with him.

Though his eyes almost seemed completely shut, they were not. They could quite plainly see a young kyunru's approach to the shop. Where as his house-mate would have been screeching something about "BABIES," he remained quite calm. The fact that this one was so young made his nose itch slightly. This definitely was not the same reaction he would have had if it was indeed an adult female Kyunru.
I suppose I literally got what I asked for... a sweet little lady he internally huffed before finally addressing the baby kyunru.
"You know, children should usually be with their parents and not wandering alone." It wasn't exactly approval, especially since he knew what would happen if she took a liking to him: babysitting.
Even with such said, his body language almost seemed to be inviting the little one to grab some fluff for herself and snuggle into it. Why did Kyurias just have to naturally look like they wanted to cuddle?

Her adorable gaze didn't leave him. She observed his every feature in silence, her right front paw, still on the first step on the stairs to the porch. She had never seen a creature like him before. That poked her curiosity to the maxium, she had to stay around and learn more about him. Neffi's thoughts were then comfirmed when she heard the masculine voice. A small smile appeared on her face. "I can take care of myself." she said with her young, soft girly voice. "I don't need a babysitter." she added. Neffi sat on the stone she had been stepping on for the past minute, but left her paw on the first stair still. She would only go up if he invited her.

His eyes never left the kid for a second. She was definitely more thoughtful of her actions, based on the fact she was still holding the same pose for more than 2 seconds. That was an improvement from most kids. However, regardless of such, a Kyunru kid was still a kyunru kid, no matter what color, shape, so on and so forth!
"...some reason, I doubt that, kiddy... but whatever... do as you want, I suppose..." If one could see his eyes, they would have been rolling a bit. She probably just wanted to go inside anyways, since that was what most would usually do when they went to the shop. One doesn't usually go to a shop to stay outside of it.
It's just too warm in there he thought couldn't help but linger in his mind. Puffing up slightly, he turned back towards the horizon, thinking nothing more of the little Kyunru girl.

He didn't seem to care at all. How boring! The younglin got up and walked up the stairs slowly, making sure not to fall. They were bigger than she remembered. Once to the top, she turned around and looked at the fluffy creature, to then take a seat about five inches away from him. She had to know what race he was. And possibly his name if he wanted to give it to her. Neffi's double pair of wings stretched out when she sat down. Her small tail curled around her and she sweetly smiled at the male, not saying anything for a moment. Then she spoke. "What are you exactly?" she asked curiously.

With the way Lasuk was lounging, he almost looked like a white lion, just fluffier. He would have preferred it if the young one decided indoors was a better place to be. Yet it seemed that would not be his luck today.
Upon hearing the question, his tail curled up slightly and the fuzzy tip twitched slightly.
"...I'd venture that because you are so new to the world, you have yet to meet a Kyuria then?" His fur seemed to puff up a bit, but it was just because he started to lift his head so he'd have slightly better posture. He had to represent his kind as best as he could.
"...you will probably see more like me now that winter is coming! Maybe even some lovely ladies as well..." Oh how he could wish for that! Lovely ladies of winter! A bit of a smile came across his pointed snout.
"...now, I can return the question and ask you the same question. You remind me of a cat with your tail like that!"

Neffiline nodded to his question. She had only met other kyunrus and palas. She had never seen a Kun-kun face to face, but she heard her mother and Ukiuki talk about it once in a while. She knew they were small creatures that were very similar to faeries she'd seen in her books before. "A kyuria?" she repeated almost as a whisper, right after he mentioned it. She made a mental note to ask her mother once she got back home later. She didn't want to be rude and ask to many questions to him, therefore she would ask Jaenelle about it. She smiled lightly to the thought of the winter. "That's why you are all white with a thick furr. You're a winter creature?" she said, not making it sound like a question. Neffi then looked down to her tell concerning his comment. "I am a Kyunru." she answered to his question. "My father is a Feral kyunru. And my mother..." she thought for a moment, looking up, as if searching deep into her head. "I am not sure what specie she is." she nodded. "But she has double pairs of wings, like me. And she has a very long tail. Her coat is all white with silver spots. She mentioned liking the winter time very much!"

Without even being aware of it, Lasuk's fur fluffed up a bit at the question of him being a winter creature.
"...I am as much of a winter creature as a snow-shoe hare... my fur is supposed to change color for spring. Ever since the women went missing... things have been out of whack!"
It was nice to have clean white fur, except for when it got dirty. Oh wait, that meant it wasn't so nice to have it. His ear couldn't help but flick a bit in annoyance at that little fact. He would have almost missed her explanation as to what she was as well if it weren't for her head's gesture down to the ground.
"...so you're a mutt, so to speak?" he uttered rather bluntly. It was hard to find any kyunru that are pure something or other, but it seemed there wasn't really a "standard" kyunru anymore either. I suppose it is better than looking like everyone else he reminded himself, seeing as he looked like most other males of his kind during the winter. Turning his attention back to the kid, he asked "...so does your mother match with the snow as well?"
