Snow had just fallen on the village. Maybe that's why Misae had wandered so far away from the safety of her human's home. Either that or the scent of the wolves that lived nearby made her a little curious of what they lived like and how they caught their own food. Hers consisted of the left-overs and soem fresh game her human happened to get with her help.
A wolfhound catching ducks wasn't an easy task, especially when the other wolfhounds taunted her about that. Then again she wasn't like any of the others. She didn't take on a mate. Those pricks could go to hell for all of the things they said to her everyday.
"Some way to live," she muttered under her breath, a little mad at the snow. Soon her human would take her out to hunt the wolves. Most of the time she would come back empty-pawed, but there was one or two times she actually caught a wolf-one who taunted her too much. "Pricks. Sometimes they can be just like those bitches back home." Shaking her head, she slowly walked further and further away from the village and into the forest.

There were many wolves about, but there was one loner. One who managed to make name for himself among men and all lera alike. Many have referred to him as the ghost wolf, and for good reason. For the most part, he was white, with flowing locks of fur on various points of his body. An elegant, if not terrifying looking creature. It was in the snow, that he best blended in. He stood atop a small ridge wtihin the forest, and it was easy to see that he was a very large wolf. Red eyes overlooking his domain, teeth gleaming in the light as puffs of condensation rose from his mouth and nostrils in the cool air. He could smell her... a dog. But he remained where he was for now. He had been considering approaching the human settlement and snatching one of their animals for his meal. If there was a wolf that the men especially wanted to kill, it was him.

Misae's ears pricked up as she finally caught a scent she recognized-a wolf. Perhaps this wolf was trying to sneak a sheep to eat? she stopped in her tracks as she gazed back towards the fields. "Like those stupid humans would let it," she muttered under her breath, a chuckle in her voice.
"Maybe...I should help this wolf out. besides, my master is sick and too tired to get out of bed, even though he comes out here every winter. Stupid human," she muttered under her breath, trying to figure out where the wolf's scent was coming from.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are," she said in a taunting voice, the tone of her voice higher than she usually had it at.

Even though he knew the dog was there, he didn't really care. It was only one female, and hardly a threat to him, even if she ddi attack. And if she warned the humans, he would hear her barks long before the humans managed to respond. He would then be long gone.
Slipping off the ridge, Sesshoumaru descended towards the snow pastures and folds where the sheep resided. He was certainly big enough to take a whole sheep for himself. He left large footprints in the snow. Once the sheep were in sight though, he paused... and then slowly started to stalk them. He was able to blend in almost perfectly, and kept downwind from the meandering sheep.
Sheep were tastey, and a lot easier to capture than deer. Thus why he'd been hanging around in this area as of late instead of tormenting the deer herd that was only a couple days travel from here. It wasn't until he could no longer catch food here, that he would likely move on.

Misae didn't sense the danger that the sheep were in. Not like she cared about those soft beasts anyways. They were always in danger of being eaten by a wandering wolf or fox. Why did those pathetic humans even bother to protect those beasts? Was it because it provided a good meal if one got too old or gave them wool for their clothing?
Misae wrinkled her nose. Why did she bother living with the humans? Ah, yes, now she remembered. It was the humans that provided her food and shelter. Stupid pathetic humans made her weak.
Spotting large pawprints in the freshly fallen snow, Misae canted her head to one side. Curious to see if the prints were of the wolf she has sensed, she decided to follow them to see where the paw-prints lead her towards.

Silent and nearly undectable in the snow, Sesshoumaru closed in on the sheep. There were fences, but that wouldn't stop him... with a running start, he easily lept over the fence on a side of the pasture that the sheep were not currently on... so they wouldn't notice him right away. It was then that he stalked towards the stupid herdbeasts, red eyes intently looking over each one as he decided on on which to pick off.
He then sprang forwards and towards the sheep who quickly paniced. Their bleating cries filling the air and the wolf's snarls joining them. A young ewe was lept upon and easily felled, her blood staining her fleece and the snow. His teeth having ripped open the throat and killing her in an instant. With his prize in his jaws, Sesshouaru dragged the kill as quickly as he could back towards the fence.

Misae pricked her ears up as she heard a loud bleating and then snarls close by. Quickly, she made her way towards the pastures and spotted something big and white dragging a sheep towards the fence. She noticed the blood that was trailing behind the sheep and she narrowed her eyes. Slyly, she slipped underneath of the last railing of the fence and trotted towards the wolf. “I would clean that up if I were you. Those pesky humans might know where you are taking that…thing,” she said, wrinkling her nose at the end of her statement.
Not really waiting for the wolf’s reply, she trotted to where the sheep was killed and began to paw fresh snow over the blood. She knew that wouldn’t stop the other wolf-hounds, but she knew that it might delay them from finding who killed the sheep. Slowly, after covering up the large blood splatter, she walked along the trail, covering that up with more snow.

Sesshoumaru barely spared the dog a glance, his teeth gripping the sheep as he hauled it along. He words seemed to fall on deaf ears as he continued along, paying no heed to her and not even pausing. He did so only to drop the sheep by the fance and then crawl through before pulling the sheep through as well. That's when he noticed that she was covering up the blood trail. Odd... but it likely wouldn't help much, besides... he knew what he was doing. He wasn't stupid after all and didn't need the help of a human's pet. Gripping the sheep with his teeth again, he continued to haul it off through the woods where he might eat in peace.

Misae paused after getting a few feet away from the fence and stared at the wolf as he pulled the dead sheep through the fence and towards the woods. She didn’t attempt to stop him nor did she make any movements to suggest that she was going to stop him. Instead, she merely turned away from the wolf and vanished into the huddled pile of sheep. Snapping at the heels of the sheep that got in her way, she made it to the other side of the pasture, but didn’t look back. Not wanting to be accused of something she didn’t do, she avoided going into the village and instead started heading away from the humans and towards another section of the forest. She didn’t know who that white wolf was nor did she know if she would meet him again, though she was happy to meet another of her close-relatived kin.
