It was a warm night, the kind of summer night that favored lovers, with a slight cool breeze. The full moon shone down across the land bathing everything in almost a surreal glow. The air was filled with the pungent fragrance of freshly bloomed flowers.

And all of it was completely wasted on Kushan. His colorful form stalked through the tall grasses that brushed gently against his limbs. His mind was troubled, and yet he could not tell what was bothering him. It was almost as if he was waiting for something and yet he didn't know what for. There was a pent up feeling of excitement and anxiety, and it was causing him no end of discomfort. He paced back and forth, his wings shuffling nervously.

Finally he could not take it anymore. He made his way through the field and over the to edge of the forest. He spotted one of his favorite trees, and old and respected tree that had several low hanging limbs and flexing his claws, climbed nimbly onto one of them. He then perched there, and resting his chin on his paws, he slowly drifted off to sleep. Whatever he was waiting for would find him eventually. Until then, he might as well be comfortable.
