What the hell am I supposed to do? I feel like my country is falling apart right in front of me, and I feel helpless. And I really can't talk to anyone about it except for my shrink and my college roommate. I try to tell my mom, but she's in complete denial. She thinks that if she ignores it, it'll all go away when George W. gets out of office. Which couldn't be farther from the truth. I really don't know what to do. confused

Conservative politics are all well and good until they start rallying together around half-thought causes.
Everyone is vulnerable to exploiting zeal over such things, but the conservatives of modern America seem to have a penchant for it.

It's not as depressing as you make it out to be, Koravin.
If there's some horrible turn this country takes, it likely won't be the fault of the Christian conservatives. My money is on the world rallying around another radical, far-leftist movement that nobody can spot in time.
We've seen the same thing in Fascism, Communism, and Nazism.
Keep your eyes open. The powers of human foolishness don't ally themselves with traditionalists alone.
