Speed if often something a wizard does not have enough of. We can sharpen senses, improve physical attributes, give confidence to those who lack it, and so many other things. But the fact of the matter is - your opponent can do all these things, too. The Blink-of-an-Eye potion gives you advantage because no one but you can see where you're going to be next. In a mock teleporation move, the blink-of-an-eye potion gives you the ability to blink and move yourself exactly 3 meters from where you were. The trick is, it's the first blink after you consume the potion, and it's in the direction you were looking. This causes great disadvantages in inaccuracy of direction, but a strong advantage is you can move through any solid matter (as long as it is not charm protected from the potion, that is).

Blink-of-an-Eye Potion

Unlike our simple potion in lesson 1, this potion doesn't come with specific step-by-step directions. Anyone can follow a recipe correctly, but do you have what it takes to actually become a chef? I'm not going to tell you how to make this potion, or even what the end result should be. The ingredients are listed in their correct amounts, but not in their correct order. The only tip I will give you is to not add the water too soon.

((Yes, you heard right. Because apparently you people lack the ability to realize this is a lesson, and you are supposed to be learning. Every single student (well... except for Gabe who doesn't count) nailed the last potion. Which is completely unbelievable, absolutely no fun, and, well, not going to be tolerated again. The goal of this lesson is that NO ONE is going to get it right. So you might as well show me you can at least be creative enough to mess up. I'm making this task impossible, and it's going to be impossible. If you can't handle not being a Mary Sue around here, drop the class. Or better yet, leave the guild.))

You Will Be Using

- spider eyes - Use your standard issue of spider eyes from the apothocrary kit you were supposed to get as a school supply. Their eyes are single lenses rather than compound eyes, ranging from simple light/dark-receptors to eyes rivaling those of a pigeon (some jumping spiders).
carefully measure out 35grams

- water - If you don't know what common water is get out of this class. make sure this is clear, distilled water.
The charm for distilling regular tapwater is inflixi putus.
The charm for removing all but hydrogen and oxygen from the water is erkolcstele.
300ml of clear, mineral-free, distilled water.

- mercury - Also called quicksilver, is a chemical element in the periodic table that has the symbol Hg (Latinized Greek: hydrargyrum, meaning watery or liquid silver) and atomic number 80. A heavy, silvery transition metal, mercury is one of five elements that are liquid at or near room temperature and pressure.
50ml

- camass - Also known as 'death camass' - part of the lesson is to research this plant and find out why it's important to this potion.
Cut into very thin, julienne if you will, strips.
75g

- common burdock - part of the lesson is to research this plant and find out why it's important to this potion - you will be using the speas, the flowering stalk, of the plant. You are to crush flower and stalk into a sticky powder residue.
100g
