Don't be silly - of course Azriell'Kyupe had seen a butterfly before. She'd seen dozens, and usually didn't chase them like she currently was. But there were two differences between this time and all the others times. The first was that no-one had been around. If her mother or siblings had been around, then of course she wouldn't have chased it - it was such a childish thing to do, though it was much fun. And secondly, this butterfly was just so pretty! The sun reflected off of it's beautiful red wings, and it was...just pretty.

Crouching down as she'd seen her brothers do - they were boys, after all, they should know how to do this properly - she whipped her tail to the right, baring her small yet pointed teeth in a small growl before thrusting off of the ground with her powerful back legs, sailing into the air.

But she hadn't done it this well before. The youth went too high for her liking, instantly forgetting about the butterfly as she yelped, twisting in mid air in an attempt to land sooner, though when the time came to land she just landed awkwardly, and a little painfully. Whining slightly, holding up her right paw, she glanced around, to make sure no-one had been watching. Her siblings would all laugh at her, otherwise. Running her rough tongue over the chocolate-coloured paw, Azi placed it back on the ground, testing it.

Well, she'd be able to get home. And the sooner the better.

Another day, another chance to preach to the world and carry out the command she had received from the gods. Her mission was a difficult one, but she bore the burden proudly. She was to punish the unworthy heathens of this world in the stead of the great gods, and leave their highnesses to their more important duties.

Or at least, so she thought.

The bright yellow lioness had an odd smirk on her maw as she wandered the edge of the pridelands, searching for her next soul to punish or reward for their deeds; though punishment was more fun. However it was not a smirk of happiness, but one of an insane mind lurking within her head. All aspects of her body did not betray her mental state - only her eyes. They had a strange look about them... As if they were determined, and yet not all there, as if their owner were staring into the eyes of someone who could not be seen.

The dazed look quickly vanished as she spotted the young lioness, however. She approached quietly, saying nothing and making almost no noise with each step, before sitting herself down several yards away, still saying nothing, and simply watching Azriell with an intrigued look on her face.

Surprisingly enough, Azriell didn't notice the other lioness for quite a while. She was busy testing her paw, trying to erase the pain by stepping on it over and over again - then it'd gradually disappear, right? Except it wasn't. It still hurt just as much, and it was annoying.

Then, suddenly, it was there. That flash of yellow in the corner of her eye that caused Azi to pivot on her hind paws, front paws in the air for a moment before they came crashing to the ground again, a growl formed on the female's face as she crouched a little, tail whipping to the left rather angrily. She didn't like being crept up on - it scared her, was the basics of it. But yeah, like she'd admit that. Her paw stung horribly, but she tried to push it to the edge of her mind, and ignore it.

The growl wasn't exactly threatening, but put across the message she was trying to give - that she'd been crept up on, and didn't like it. Plus, she was unsure of the new female. "Wh-Who're you!?"

Oki tilted her head to one side, slightly off-put by the growl but not seeming all that concerned with it. "My name is of little importance, child." She said coolly, "But you ought to show more respect to your elders when you want questions answered." She smirked and stood up, taking another step closer.

"However, as for who I am... I am the gods' messenger, or tool if you will. I am here for one purpose and one only: to punish the unworthy and unjust." An eerie smile flashed for a moment before returning to a passive smirk.

Oki paused. Surely it was a good idea to know what one should be called, correct? "But my given name is Mo'okiko. What is your name?" She didn't sound overly concerned either way, but it was terribly difficult to talk to someone if you don't know what to call them.

ooc|| Oh, Genge is just plain hot! -snags the lion-

Azi wasn't backing down easily - her tail was still high, her stance cautious and defensive, instead of threatening and offensive. No name was given, which only made the small lionness more apprehensive as she shuffled backwards, away from the still-approaching lioness. Respect? Well, usually she did. To people she was supposed to. Like the Queen. But in general, why was she supposed to respect random lions? They weren't any better than her.

God's messenger? More cautious footsteps backwards just to be sure, Azriell kept her defensive position up, not backing down yet. Punishing - that wasn't nice. That meant being locked in the den for hours, or getting a shouting at. Yeah, Azi didn't like punishment.

But to the unworthy? Unjust? Was this lionness crazy or something? The smile creeped Azi out more, her body sinking closer to the ground almost subconciously, the lionness looking more vulnerable and scared - almost submissive, in a way.

Oh, but a name! Perking up a little, liking that Oki had suddenly seemed to her friendlier, the cub took a small step forwards, almost as if she were testing the ground. She still wasn't sure.

"Azriell'Kyupe. Everyone calls me Azi, though." she spoke carefully, thinking about each word. She paused, wondering what to say next.

"...What do you mean a god's messenger? Surely the gods can give the message themselves?"

Hey, she was curious.

((Thanks x3 *cuddles him* Sorry for taking so long, by the way D8 ))

Oki enjoyed the nervous reaction from the young lion, relishing in the fact that she could intimidate someone without even having to resort to force.

But of course, force was more FUN.

"Azi... You are young and know little of the gods, I see." Her words were heavy, and full of distaste. Ignorance was not a cause for punishment, but for education. As much as she despised doing things the 'nice way', she knew the gods would not approve of her abusing one so young without reason.

"The gods are capable of anything they wish, save one thing: Our language. It is strange to them, so they must send omens, which may be misinterpreted. The only way to get the message across is through dreams, where their language and our own cross." She sighed, "And that takes up their precious time and energy. The gods have better things to do than send messages. That's where I come in."

Oki pawed at some grass idly, "You will do well to remember this lesson, child, or we may meet again on less pleasant terms."

She was starting to get a little scared now. Trying to remember whether because she was younger she had more energy she'd out-run the lionness, or whether because Oki was older she'd easily out-run her. It probably would end up being the yellow lionness that out-ran her. So that was that plan gone.

What the hell was she on about, though? God's spoke the same language, didn't they? They were special, but still could speak. Otherwise it's be stupid. The untrusting youth made a mental note to ask her mother when she got home.

"Dreams are nice, though." came the childish interruption, the prideland female pouting a little, trying to shuffle back in a subtle way. Needless to say, it didn't work.

"You're weird," Azi spoke after a rather long, awkward pause. She didn't mean to be rude - the child was only speaking her opinion, which she thought was right. After all, what was the point in keeping your ideas and thoughts locked up in your head?

"Mom says I shouldn't believe what non-Pridelanders say."

"Of course dreams are nice." Oki rolled her golden eyes dramatically, "Any contact with the Gods is a blessing, and to be enjoyed. However, they are also to be feared and respected." Oki raised her eyebrows curiously, "You have had unpleasant dreams before, correct?"

Oki merely shrugged. She had been called many things before, and weird was at the lower end of the spectrum. Normally, she would lash out for such a thing, but she was standing firm on the fact that the Gods would not approve of such actions, and let it roll of her shoulders. "Say what you wish, but I, at least, know what my purpose is."

Oki couldn't help but laugh at her statement. This was the pridelands, was it?

"Your mother is foolish." She smirked, "Pridelanders are vain and conceited. They will be punished for their disobedience to the Gods. Such lions cannot see that we ought not trouble ourselves with pridal boarders and trifles such as that. A lion is a lion, all the same, and all equal. Anyone who says otherwise knows nothing of true wisdom."

Azi was beginning to get a little worried. This lionness was scaring her. But she couldn't just run back to mum and hide. Her siblings would all laugh at her - and that certainly wouldn't be very nice. A cautious nod came at the question about the unpleasant dreams. Of course she'd had unplesant dreams - that was what nightmares were, right? And evreyone had them at some point or another.

"...You're scaring me." came a slightly whining statement, as the youth took a few steps back, wanting to put some distance between the lionness and herself. She was talking about the Gods as if she knew them personally. As if they talked to her. But meeting a God was really rare, wasn't it? She'd have to ask her mother later.

"...Go away!"

The voice changing from a whining sorts to more demanding, Azriell practically barked at the elder feline, small claws digging into a ground, almost challenging. She wanted the lionness to leave. Because that'd solve everything.

Oki shrugged, "I scare nearly everyone." She flicked her tail impatiently as she eyed the young lioness. "But you have nothing to fear from me."

Oki's brow raised curiously as the child went from fearful to fierce, and grinned, "That is, so long as you're not foolish enough to try to remove my by force." She took note of her outstretched claws, and laughed, "Ah, such a fiery young one! No, it simply wouldn't do to harm you for it." She chuckled, her already obvious insanity showing more than ever.

Of course, all her statements about the Gods were delusions caused in her childhood, but she fully believed them. Clearly, this child would be quite useful to the deities if she devoted herself. But this was not the time to discuss it. No, some other time perhaps.

"Fine, as you wish." She nodded, giggling all the while, "But you will do well not to forget my message. Farewell, and I hope we may meet again on more friendly terms." With that, she turned tail and padded off, quickly disappearing into the tall, dry grasses of the savanna.
