The night before she had returned to the pridelands, and the sun woke her from an uneasy sleep. Although she had slept better now that she was back at home, in the lands she loved, she still felt uneasy, almost afraid that the large red male would follow after her and return her by force to the sandy deserted lands. She longed to be tucked beside her mother but hadn't had time to find her int he darkness, sleep had taken ehr easily and now she woke feeling uncomfortable.
Radi knew very little about children, childbirth or for that matter pregnancy. She of course knew she was pregnant, her abdomen destended and the odd little kicks which belted against her wombs walls spoke of life within. These strange new feelings which woke her from a fitful slumber though were unusual, to say the least, she had never felt anything so strangely achey?
The ache didn't last too long though as it was quickly replaced by pain, a fiery pain which ripped down her slender frame tearing the young mothers body askew, or so it felt.
It was then that she realised that it was her time, her stomach tenced and eased every few moments and she cried through the pain, with noone beside her she felt alone and afraid, tears rolling down her pale cheeks. "Mother." She whisperd on to the breeze, hoping someone, anyone would hear her painful cry and come to her aid.
Luckily for the already weakened lioness, her body took over from her painful cried and pushed, bareing down on the ground, her claws digging deeply in to the soil at her paws.
Perhaps fortunately for Radi the black cub came mercifully quickly. He was a large boy and she pulled him tightly against her chest. A smile graced her maw, he reminded her of Kibela, her sister and though his eyes were closed she wondered if red orbs would glimmer within.
Grooming her tiny son and drying him quickly she waited but no more pain came. It seemed she was to be blessed with a single birth. She thanked which ever god was watching over her, she was weak from her escape from the desert and a single cub would be enough hard work. Nuzzling her boy to her downy belly sme smiled and whispered his name. "Ghilt" Her weak, whispery voice puurred in to his tiny ears, for thats what he was, a glimmer of light in her life, almost her beacon, her reason for escape.

It was warm and the it got cold, cold! What had just happened? Squeaking and squirming at the feel of the hard ground beneath him, he then murmured and squeaked while feeling his mother near, and no one else. Alone, he was alone. Something came to his ears, though it was already hard to hear the world clearly, let alone know what it was like, though a word, no, a name, graced his ears.
Ghilt.
He was Ghilt.
Squirming in his mother's grasp as if to show his strength even just being a newborn, he was strong, yet linked with his mother, he'd never let her go from his heart, never.
He murmured again as if calling to her, paws outstretched.

The tired little mother puurred softly as she listened to her sons squeeky replies to her words, her nose running along his dark spine. Her own soft green eyes glimmered as she watched him curl close to her body and she knew instantly that she adored him and would protect him against all others. She would never let him go. Her single son born of a night of deception, she would teach him to be good and honest and to follow the pridelands ideals. She wanted him to know health and wealth and love and she would provide that.
Lifting her head she looked down her own spine tirely, she still feard that someone would find her, though she half hoped that one of her own reletives would locate her, she had been away for so long would they even recognise her?
Such questions could be forgotten, at least for this quiet moment, she was happy to simply groom and dote upon her newborn.

Swatting his tiny paws he mewed with vengence at the cold world and reached out for his mother, source of love, protection and warmth. His paws softly tapped on her chest as if he was attempting to get her to recognize him for who he was, her son, Ghilt.
Curling his tiny tail about him he wriggled, in an attempt to wiggle around on the ground, and paw at it for being so cold. Though his mother had him well secured near herself, and he mewled and smiled.

A small laugh and a puurr rolled over the young mothers lips and she nuzzled him gently pushing him towards her belly gently. "You're strong my little light" she coos, her voice still weak and tired, she was exhausted from giving birth but so glad that he was okay, he seemed so willing to tell the world that he was here and she couldn't help but smile at his strong little voice calling out to the winds.
"I'm here my sweet one." She whispers to him, I won't let anything happen to you, drink and be safe my son."

Ghilt mrowled and snuggled against his mothers tummy, pawing at her gently, curling himself close to her side feeling content, though he did swipe at hte ground a few times to get his revenge on the cold hardness of the earth, why couldn't it just be soothing and warm like his loving mother? He mewled and snuggled her again, paws padding,
His tiny mouth found something intriguing, and wonderful, food! He mewled and suckled, his body feeling warm from love and comfort.
Life was good.
He was Ghilt.

In the early morning hours before sunrise, Shin stalked the herds. He wasn't hunting, though. No, the adult male was merely practicing. When he'd gotten as close as he desired, he revealed himself and left. As the dark lion walked, the rising sun slightly glimmered on his multitude of scars, many now hidden by a thick black mane. He shook it out, glad for its presence. White paw raised, he stopped as he smelled the air. Radi... His paler sister... He'd not seen her in far too long. He hurried for the source of the scent, feeling his heart pound in his chest. Was she alright...?

The familiar scent caught her nose and thesmall rather skinny female turned her gaze towards the approaching figure. "Shin." She whispers, she far from looked the way she had the last she had seen her older brother, she was starved and worn looking, her time in the firekin lands had taken some, if not all of the innocent sparkle out of those watery green eyes. She smiled weakly and waited for her brotehr to come closer turning her attention to ehr son for a moment and whispering in to his ear, she felt she needed to let her little charge know what was going on.
"Your uncles comeing to see ud Ghilt don't worry, he won't hurt us, he may get your grandmotehr though." She smiles, a slight lift in her voice, the sound of hope, she longed to see her mother again, though one of her brothers was a good start to a reunion with her family.

Ghilt heard the voice again, the calming soothing voice of his mother which began to etch itself into his mind. He mewled at the sound, not understanding, pulling himself to nuzzle against his mother's side, done with feeding, he just wanted close comfort, warmth, the feeling of his mother close.
She was what he had.
They were part of each other now.
Squeaking Ghilt pawed outwards, pawed his mother's side, and if any knew, made a tiny smile and mewled again. He felt as if somehting was coming, but he wasn't sure, he was still just too young to understand.

The ruby-eyed male approached cautiously, seeing the look of almost dulness in his sister's eyes. "Radi... What happened to you...?" Shock, sorrow, and a sort of pain filled his red eyes as he went over, grooming her between the ears. His poor little sister... What hardhips had she faced? His eyes turned to the cub, so shockingly like their youngest sister, Kibela. Dark fur, darker patches of markings... He was an uncle! Which meant, in a twist... Kabichi was an aunt.

Radi smiled weakly, she was tired from giving birth but was glad to see her brother. "I..a firekin.." She trailed off, "I don't wish to talk about it Shin." She whispers her gentle green eyes welling with tears. "I'm home now." She uurrs grooming her tiny son whom lay against her downy belly.
"Doesn't he remind you of Kibela?" she puurrss "It sems he inherited a little, or should I say alot of his aunt." She laughed weakly a yawn stretching her maw, she was tired, it had been a long journey and a trying day, she needed rest so she could care for her singular offspring.

Ghilt mewled and pawed around at the earth, feeling around and snuggling against his mother's side. Yawning he curled next to her, almost into a furry ball, as if he wasn't one already, and appeared to be rather content. Curling his tiny tail about him as much as he could manage, Ghilt let his tiny pink tongue lick his mommy's side in a way of affection, even though he was still so young to not even understand.
Though he understood one thing.
He loved his mommy so much.

"A Firekin...?" Shin's brow furrowed a bit. Bodaway was a Firekin... But... He couldn't have... Could he? The male settled down next to his sister, admiring his nephew. "Yeah, he DOES look like Kibela... A lot like Kibela.." He let out a laugh, licking one of Radi's ears. "If I didn't know better, I'd swear he WAS Kibela's!"

Radi smiled weakly her pale maw lifting to her brother with a puurr. "Will you stay for a little shin? I need to sleep." She whispers, her eyes clearly drooping. "and..well could you do me a favour? I would like to see mother, would you go and see ehr for me?" She smiles leaning against her older brother. "I'v been so frightened, so alone, for what seems like an eternity, I just want to be home again."

Ghilt wasn't used to the new voice just yet, but he was getting their slowly but surely. Wriggling and mewling in anticipation he wriggled himself around as if to hide under Radi's side. Squeaking as he came to a stop he nuzzled her side yet again, licking his mommy and pawing at her lightly, then yawning with anther squeak. He was tired too, such a transition!
Moving himself to be a bit more comfortable he curled into a ball of fuzz that he was at his mother's side, ad was content.
Life would begin anew.
