Grain of salt. When the best selling game is WiiPlay because of the Wiimote bundle. They just beat the PS2 for topping software charts. Having more software sales just means you sell more software, not that people play it more. DVD sales are the same way. Doesn't mean people are watching more. It was the same for PS2. Not everyone played PS2 more just because there were sales.

Not everyone played PS2 more just because there were sales. What's that supposed to mean? Naturally, consumers are going to use the software that they purchase. They're going to use Video Games more than movies. Movies are done with after the first time they are watched. Also, I believe we've gone over how PS2s were prone to having users buy more than one in the generation. That's not the case with the Wii. I'd take a look at thisWii Play is big in America. For everywhere else, it doesn't make the top 5.

Also, you're vastly overstating the need to rebuy PS2s just like RRoD is vastly overstated. Disc Read Errors were prominent in the 2000 stock up through Fall 2001.

Want to know why Wiiplay isn't in the top 10 of Japanese sales charts? Because it's typically dominated by PS2/PSP but mostly DS. Just like Australia is dominated by mostly SingStar games, and Europe Soccer most of the time.

In my opinion, Tanks! is the best of the games included in Wii Play. All hte other ones get a little old, even with multiplayer, but Tanks! can be a really fleshed out multiplayer experience. I'd like to see Nintendo release something like a "Tanks!+" over Wiiware that adds Wi-Fi support. That'd be freaking sweet!
