The stallion hadn't had much of a childhood. His mother had watched him more then his brother and sister though he had never known why. Maybe it was because he never cared much about anything. He never listened when he was told to do something and he would much rather cause trouble and then do what he was told. It wasn't the easiest childhood and now he was an adult and free. He still went to see his mother, after all she was his mother. He had never met his father but knew his mother loved him dearly, Shadrach also had siblings though he was yet to meet them. One day he would meet them all and then some of these questions of his would be answered. After all, why was he so different?
It was a question that had bothered him for most of his life. He would be off trying to kill small animals (when very angry) or trample things. He would destroy what ever he could and most of the time found it fun where as he didn't see or hear of his siblings doing things like that. They may have, he just didn't know. His mother had told him he was a lot like his older brother and how he longed to meet him but that would come another day.
Today the male was alone and it was the best thing for him. He could just be himself without having to care what others thought or what his mother would say. He was free to do as he wished and that was just perfect. However the sun was out and radiating its heat, something Shadrach wasn't overly keen on, so he was in the forest, well on the outskirts of the forest. Hoping that something would happen. Anything. It got boring waiting for the sun to dissappear. Oh how he loathed the heat it sent out.

Lounging on his frequented, rocky perch. The Kalona stallion cast his gaze upon the land before him. Like a wild cat, surveying all he saw. But with little interest.
His bright red eyes lidded lazily as his head turned in a lazed half circle. The world seemed such a bore. Well, perhaps it had grown boring since Zuli left. That temperamental female. She was a hoot...sometimes. Fun to mess with for sure.
Valarauco stretched out his wings. Clambering to his cloven hooves as he cast yet another glance to the surrounding area. The tops of the trees seemed to almost go on forever, until his eyes spotted the abrupt cut off of the tree line. With one fluid motion, he took off into flight. Leathery wings beating heavily against the arm as he rose higher into the sky. Now merely a dark figure to those who looked upwards.
Time to end this monotonous boredom.

Shadrach looked up at the sky, seeing the flying figure didn't really bother him, he just snorted and tore up some grass below his hooves. He had never liked the taste of it. It seemed so wrong but his mother had always made him eat it. He snorted as he spat some of it back out. There had to be something more interesting to eat. Even though he had killed small animals before, he had never thought that he could eat them.
He moved out of the cover of the tree's looking up at the flying creature again. He had no fear of Kalona's or anything else. He should have, his mother had told him stories that would attempt to cause fear but it gave him the opposite effect. He dreamt he could be like them but he wouldn't dare in front of his mother. So for now he just watched and longed. Why was he cursed not to have wings when his brother could? It wasn't right.
