Well, I like "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas. biggrin Very nice and interesting novel. About the book, I quote from Wikipedia: "The historical setting is a fundamental element of the book. It is primarily concerned with themes of justice, vengeance, mercy, and forgiveness, and is told in the style of an adventure story".
A man named Edmond Dantes is betrayed by his friends and send on false pretense to jail for crimes he did not commit. As soon as he escapes, he plans on getting revenge on them. He does this under guise of "the Count of Monte Cristo", so named after the island where he found a hidden treasure and became immensely rich, left to him by an old priest he met in jail. He sets out on revenge, killing or driving his enemies insane. Though along the way he does some good deeds.
I simply loved this book because of the themes bolded above. And how Dumas delivered all those in the form of an adventure story that made me love it even more! heart
