The sun was setting, perhaps half point between the afternoon and twilight. The herds have moved closer to the Pride Lands for the night. To his home. Tiah had left him asleep somewhere! So much for that stupid walk... she tricked him! She wanted to take a walk... it was a while and he got tired, and that was a while indeed. Falling asleep, he wakes up to find himself quite alone and a place he had never been to. Mat had no idea where he was. So now he simply wanders... at least there's a path.

He had ignored it for a while, but the back of his neck itched and now he knew why. His mane was growing out. The chocolate brown fur had extended into his mane, strange how his tail was black but not his mane. That aside, it was getting annoying. Since the morning after Tiah's abandonment, he had been pushing it back. Great wonders water can do.

Mat was just the same, bitter, mean, and still disliked females (with the exception of his family). His mane had been pulled back to a slick, pull back, still wet from a recent re-doing. His fur was a little dirty, but he could care less about how he looked. No one really cared. Apparently, his mother didn't even care. He loved his family... they meant a lot to them even if he never verbally said it. Tufah was fun, Haiba seemed to be rather nuetral. Shou and Sarafina seemed alright. Tahka... well, as far as jerks go, he was... decent. But why mother? Of all of them, he loved her the most! How could she just leave him out here!? Was it because he hit Mjrn? Because he attacked Tahka? Because he argued with her?

"People take things way to seriously..." he grumbled. His belly rumbled as he moved along the grassy path.

Kinari was alone, yet again, no females. Not even that male was here with him, perhaps it was best to be alone. Inky black bang stuck in his maw, chewing rather idly on it. Nothing seemed to have interest him much at all... not even that wentch of a female... now what was her name again? The name slipped his mind, but whatever she did with his brood... she best have treated them well for if he ever found them wandering... well, they will have to suffer just like the rest he has met. Those of his loins best keep away from their father, otherwise... Flicking his claws, he sighs, spitting out the bang from his maw.

"Where's that male when you need him around. When you want something interesting, rely on the missing one to be missing," the male grumbled as he hopped off his rock and stretched out. All around the ground was littered with bodies and half eaten carcasses. His paws knocked away a cleaned skull with a scoff.

"Wasn't even worth the effort..."

The smell of meat filled the air rather quickly as he progressed forth. So strong! He smirked and crouched low. Whoever's food it was... was going to lose it. Mat moved slowly and his emerald eyes. Soon enough his gaze fell upon a rather small male standing in a ring of dead gazelle it seemed. Luckily, his back was turned. Taking the oppritunity, he lunged forth only to meet with face and ground.

The male snarled as his hand laid firmly on the younger male's head, keeping it pressed down on the ground. Crimson eyes looked over the male quickly, his attacker was rather weak... His steath sucked compared to some who have actually managed to scratch him... then again, they were rather talented in that.

Kinari smirked as he let a claw glaze over the young male's body. The male was young... very much so that he didn't have a full mane just yet. His body was strong though... built for power than anything else. Spots ran down his back. His eyes narrowed when he finally noticed something... his paws had gloves... just like his. His fur was just like his...

Gripping his head roughly, he pulled up the snarling, struggling lion, he pulled him face to face. Phew... Green eyes, but to be sure...

"Alright brat, who's the damn b***h you came from?"

Mat snarled and spat in his face but Kinari showed no reaction. "Tiah's the only female that could give birth to me and my siblings and she ain't no "b***h", b*****d."

Kinari thought for a moment. Tiah... Tiah... where have I heard that name? "Oh! Tiah! That stupid red feline I knocked up a while back as a gift of actually hitting me. Heh, it seems she actually survived to give birth to my litter... and what a frisky little thing you are."

"I'm little!? You are the damn short one, dumbass!" Mat snarled and swiped the paw away from his head and jumped back from this smaller... but rather creepy lion. He knew his mother? His brood?... Wait... "You're... my..."

"Well, if Tiah did not get raped by some other male, I guess there is no one else that would dare touch her but me. Not even that stupid lion Adonai... heh... she deserved what she got. She got her cubs and she must be sooooo proud of your furballs, oh so big and strong," he smirked. "You look strong, probably deal some good damage if you actually manage to make a hit..." Kinari laughed as he raised to his feet, slowly circling the male. Mat's eyes always on him, growling and snarling. This male was his fahter... this male was... the one who abandoned his mother with the cubs.

"Good damage... if you actually mean to hurt them. Heh, you were probably raised like a pansy Pride Lander. You couldn't hurt me even if you did hit me. Without the want to cause pain, you won't cause any. Without any urge to hurt... you won't do a damn-"

Mat swatted him hard across the cheek which only got responded with a devious grin and a harder... a much harder swat back... with claws.

Blows exchanged. Verbal battery and arguements scared off all the animals near by. The roars of anger of Mat echoed over Kinari's roaring laughter of enjoyment. The sun had long setted and blood showered the dirt around them. Mat had slipped up somewhere, but he end result was obvious. The younger male was pinned down, panting heavily as his eyes scowled up at his 'father'. His face cut up and bloodied, his eyes glaring.

"You cheated me!"

Kinari scoffed as he sat upon the little one's chest, flicking his claws as if the fight were nothing. He sustained a few blows and they did hurt... His shoulder was sore, but he was not going to give his 'son' the satisfaction that he managed to hurt him. With a growl, he placed a paw upon his face, covering one side where he managed to cut earlier with a rather lucky gaze. The foolish whelp was lucky he missed.

"I did what I had to in order to win. I never lose, Matishou... how about you stop pretending and actually become what your name means. You are my son, you were born from me, I will not have a litter of pansies alive. You better make them become strong and worth their father's name otherwise... they'll all be dead, including that stupid female of a mother of yours," 'Terror' roared, drawing his paw away causing another cub on his muzzle, just below his right eye. The male grabbed the victim and pulled him close for one last lesson... rather, warning. The look in his eyes were absolutely thrilling. Terror than through them as if he predicted his own death there. He was afraid! What a coward....

"You only lived because I wanted you to return to that damned family of yours. Tell them... stay in the damn Pride Lands and away from me. Otherwise, they will all meet the same fate as the rest who bore me..." with one last shove, Kinari strode off, leaving the exhausted male there, panting, tired, and on the brink of death's door.

His mind wandered as he laid there, surrounded by blood and the bones of the dead. His right eye was hard to keep open... in fact, both were. His body was sore and used way too much to move now. He was weak... Tahka was right, he was weak. But was this b*****d right too? That was could not cause pain unless he wanted to... Tahka was his brother, he did want to hurt him, but he could not convince himself that he was able to. Mother was raped... she had them in the Pride Lands... was it to... was it to protect them from this... this lion? The pain was escruciating, his vision blurred. The scent of everything was overwhelming, but the scent of his father... of death.... was fading as was his conciousness.
