 Autumn was in full swing. The leaves were falling, had already fallen, and had created a crunchy blanket beneath his hooves. His nose wrinkled slightly as he moved through them. Everyone would be able to hear him coming from a mile away... That wasn't any good. They'd hear him and then they'd come and see him and then, on top of that, they would want to chat and chatter.

She nosed idly at an apple that had fallen from the tree above her but couldn't figure out if she was hungry and actually wanted to eat it or if she was just thinking about eating it because it was -there- and it wouldn't do anything if she didn't eat it.
Her breath puffed out in a small sigh as she rested her nose against the apple and pondered her next course of action.

He gave his short tail a slight flicker as he plodded on, clumps of the damp leaves that had been beneath the dry ones catching on his hooves. Other than his movements the forest seemed... Quiet. Perhaps that wasn't too much of a bad thing. Quiet could be...
His brow lofted slightly as he glanced up only to see something that could, quite possibly, break the silence. Mares were, from what little experience he had, rather chatty and not all that intelligent. The odds that this one was any different were, sadly, slim to none as far as he was concerned.
Grumpy, yes, but not rude, he cleared his throat to alert her to his presence. He could at least do that.

Her head tipped to the side enough so that she could see whatever had made that noise. It wasn't a sound she was familiar with, or at least that she could remember being familiar with, but sounds usually meant something was either happening or about to happen.
She blinked at the dusty colored stallion for a moment not sure if she should say something or if she should just wait for him to say something to her first. He might not want anything to do with her and barging into conversation could be out of line.

His ear flickered slightly, hat shifting atop his head as he eyed the female. Alright... So she was quiet. That could be a good thing depending on the nature of her silence. His brow lofted slightly as he eyed her, wondering if she could even talk.
"... Good. After. Noon."

She smiled slightly as she picked her head up. "Good afternoon." Speak when spoken too right? She thought she remembered something like that from somewhere.

"So you can talk." He snorted softly, giving his head a light toss, a slight smirk curving his lips. "Are you one of those chatty mares without a mind or is there something in that head of yours?" His brow lofted. The question might be rude but if he got the answer out of the way he could save them both useless conversation.

She tilted her head slightly and thought about that for a moment. "There's something up there i believe. Wouldn't my head feel much lighter if there wasn't?"
Oops .. she probably wasn't suppose to ask questions but she'd already said it and it would be even worse to take it back. She could just apologize if he got mad.

He paused for a moment, listening to the silence between them before laughing. His chuckle was deep and hearty, much warmer than his words had been. "That it would be... That it most certainly would be." Smiling he looked up to her. "Do you have a name, lass?"

Name, yes she had one of those. "Koukla" At least that's what she remembered. He wouldn't know the difference though unless someone told him otherwise but there wasn't anyone else here to correct her.

"Koukla." Interesting. Odd, but interesting... Much like the mare, he supposed. It fit.
He stepped back, bowing his head in a seemingly grand gesture that nearly knocked his hat off. He grinned as he looked back up to her. "You may call me Magus."

She nodded slightly at being given permission to call him something. She would have just called him sir but a name was a good step up from that.

"... For what?" His brow lofted slightly. "I have done nothing for which you should be thanking me, lass. Do you always thank random stallions for things they have not done?"

"Your name .... you could have just let me call you sir." It was nice that he'd given her a name so he should be thanked for it. You were always suppose to thank others when they did something kind.

"Now why would I let you call me sir when I have a perfectly good name that, I think, sounds far better than 'sir'?" His brow lofted slightly. "Besides... Sir is meant to make others feel old and I need not feel a day older than I already am." Unless in the company of foals... Ugh. Foals.
