Tukutu wasn't the happiest camper anymore. Sure, he wasn't always happy anyway, but ever since he had told Mabozi that he was his father...the stupid hyena had not left him alone. He didn't care that much that Mafa had sent so much time with him, raising him alone. Who cared! It's not like she asked him, and besides, she deserved it, being so mean to him. He had finally begun to give up on the leader. That didn't mean he would lose his title, since Mafa's views on him never seemed to change, but it still didn't feel well.

Oh well, he'd get over it some day.

Today he found himself sniffing around, trying to figure out if anyone had caught anything recently. He couldn't catch the scent of meat though, so that was a failure at trying to steal a free meal. Oh well, he'd have to go and try to catch something soon, or else he'd be reeeal hungry tonight.

As much as the fresh air outside of the Graveyard now seemed to bother her senses and sinuses, it at least made up for one good thing that is helped keep alive. Nice fresh and springy food. It allowed the others that thrived on the crisp air a chance to live and thus it provided a nice meal for Zoma. This case, in the form of a plump grey hare she had managed to catch. It wasn't that hard, but it had its moments but at least was easier than those blasted birds.

And once back inside, she had found herself a nice little clutter of bones after trotting her way back inside, 'cause really with not really having a set place to live each night she was able to eat anywhere she wanted as long as she knew she was in the right territory. Now, with a hum she tore apart at the meats of her catch unaware of the male that could find her with ease.

Tukutu had given up on finding anything, until he smelled it. Instantly his head popped up, ears froward as he followed his nose to the spot where it was. Oooh, he could almost taste it. The smell was strong enough, he couldn't even believe that he hadn't noticed it before, especially in the graveyard of nothing but dirt and dust.

Once had had reached nearer, he caught something by surprise of it though. It was...rotted. An old hunk of meat that someone carelessly threw away. Well, a meal was a meal! The hyena consort dove right into the pile of bones tearing at the bit of meat that was still on a bone, picking through the unsafe parts to eat what he could. Somehow, even if it was a little chewy, it still tasted pretty good! Maybe not enough to fill his stomache up, but enough that he didn't have to go out hunting right now. So for just a liiittle while longer, he could be the lazy Tukutu that most of him knew by.

His head popped up, though, as he heard another noise. Hmm, what was that? Licking the bits of slobber that were still around his mouth, he picked himself out of the bone rubble and made his way towards the sound, the smell of fresher meat meeting him before the sight of the other hyena.

Zoma noticed only a bit too late that Tukutu was near until he was only a few feet away from where she was eating, and polishing off her hare ... it really wasn't that too much of a meal being small as it was but still pretty filling for a few hours. With a bit of tender meat hanging from her mouth, her head shot up and her cobalt eyes widened at the sight of the male closing in.

More from surprise really, she hadn't noticed him but all the same she didn't show any hostility or sign that she would bolt and defend her food - besides it being almost gone besides bones. "Mmmph!" Came her mumbled greeting, undecipherable from the meat but her happy gaze could tell different and express how she felt about meeting someone else.

Tch. It was almost gone anyways. Tukutu didn't want to bother when it was something so small. Besides, the hyena before him didn't seem very hostile. Perhaps she was part of the pack? Tukutu could barely keep straight all the mutts running around the graveyard. Sure seemed like a lot, especially since there were more pups running around as well.

He didn't really know what to say to the hyena. but he deemed it probably wouldn't look too good on his part to just walk off. He paused for a moment, his tail brushing away the flies that decided to bother him. Damn things. Raising an eyebrow as he turned his attention back to the female, he decided that he'd try at a real conversation. "Name?" he barked out.

Oh, what a conversationalist.

She didn't answer him at first, given the fact that her mouth was still full and bits of meat still dangling by her chin. Zoma was also just staring at him as she slowly chewed, something was awfully familiar about this guy and it was sort of bugging a little part of her brain trying to figure it out exactly what it was. After a final gulp and a quick glance down at the remains to make sure she had indeed finished it off - oh no way she was going to have someone stealing stuff again - the female shifted her body and raised herself up to his level.

"Hi! I'm Zoma, and you are?" She greeted cheerfully, tilting her head with a smile on her features. Though it was so tempting, she retrained herself from circling around him to get a better look to maybe trigger why he seemed familiar to her. Zoma settled on looking him over from where she currently stood or hoping something else would spring some notion.

Ugh. Was the female taunting him with the bit of meat that she had left? His stomache lurched for a split moment, thinking of the quality of meat he had just eaten in comparison to what the female was just not finishing up. He really needed to get something fresh soon, 'cause it just wasn't fair. His frame turned tense for a moment as she shot a glare at the female hyena before averting his eyes elsewhere behind her.

"Zomah," he repeated, giving a bob of his head with what looked like approval. "Ah've heard of ye'. Nevah metcha though." He paused for a moment, letting his tail beat on the ground below it. "Tukutu," he said, replying to her main question about his name. He felt like it was an important name, but it seemed like no one really knew who he was. Stupid Mafa. Was probably her fault anyway.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 1:31 am

Huh, Zoma thought to herself as his speech reached her ears, as they themselves flicked once. She hadn't heard such a manner of speaking, or at least an interesting one at that since probably Bubbles. It wasn't that difficult to decipher as the other male's responses, thankfully, but it was something that brought a giggle to her. It seemed a bit rude, really that she just suddenly started giggling, but really... it was amusing the way he talked even if it wasn't that strange.

"Heard of me?" She finally asked calming down, rather surprised from hearing that being unaware that she would at least be known to anyone as lacking she was around the majority of the other hyena. Always out of the loop, the inner circles, always lost is how she always pictured herself. And forgotten to the rest. "That sounds weird, Mr. Tukutu ~" Zoma just flat out and said after a split second of mulling over the information, "I'm not usually... around." Her head tilting, giving him a very questioning look, perhaps putting too much stock into what she had heard.

... besides also just still mulling over him as well. Her previous inquiring of familiarity were lost as she still pondered her reputation but also just what kind of nickname to give this new possible friend.

"Weird?" Tukutu echoed, wondering just why this hyena was laughing at him. Him! ...oh well. He was used to Mafa being just plain ol' mean to him, so he could deal with a little bit of laughter. Well, he guessed so, anyway. Barely anything definate from this hyena. He bobbed his head again, confirming what he said.

"Ah, yeaaah, Mafa'd mentioned of ye once, a whick bahck." It was a bit of the truth, though he didn't know anything else but a name, someone that Mafa had mentioned once and never again. Tuk had a habit of trying to remember things...things that Mafa said, anyways.

Not that he cared, really. Or that's what he was telling himself. She had her heir, didn't need him anymore, but just to make her 'army' bigger.

"Oh, from BossLady?" Zoma asked in a bit of shock and awe, rather flattered that Mafa would even remember who she was being as they hadn't met again in ages. Though not knowing when he head about her was also one thing, besides knowing the length that was explained about her. Though, perhaps those details never crossed her mind to inquiry about, instead, "I haven't seen her in forever. Have you? Do you know if she's doing well? I heard from her son that she had more pups! Isn't that exciting?!" She asked him with a spark of excitement in her tone, her black tail wagging behind her.

- oh hey, "Aa, thats why you seem familiar. You kind of look like Bu-Mabozi! Do you know him? Well, you're a bit different and I'm sure that your pelts are pretty like not so rare but I haven't seen many like you two besides Mafa ~" Zoma nodded at the end, all pleased with herself for finally figuring it all out. Took her a while, not no matter.

Buh buh....buh? This female just talked way too fast for Tukutu's taste. Maybe it was because he was starting to get a bit old, but geeesh....she could slow it down just a bit! He took an extra moment to gather what little thoughts floated through his brain before replying.

"Well..." he started off. "She's perf'ctly fine, ah think. Dun need naw use of meh, that's fer sure. Crazy womon, a'ways tellin' meh what ta do but nevah doin' it 'erself." He didn't make too much sense, just complaining about Mafa, as always.

"Bu-Mabozi?" Oh god, did he have two children and not know it? "Ah knew of a Mabozi, yeah." He didn't know whether he should state that the oaf was his son or now. How embarassing, he was. "Ah, yeah, I...er...uh....'e's m'son."

Cobalt eyes widened with surprise, and the already present grin just widened even possibly more. Black ears perked up and that black tuft of tail made a violent happy swish, "REALLY?" Zoma exclaimed, astonished. This was Bubbles' father? How exciting, she had always wanted to meet him besides just meet anyone who was nice. And while it was hard to understand him at times, this hyena male did seem to be on a nicer side than most.

Which pleased her, perhaps this is where Mabozi got it from. Certainly not from his mother, she was kind of mean. But regardless, "So you're Bubbles' dad," letting the nickname slip, "How cool, how cool! I never get to meet the whole family." A little giggled glee escaped her as she hopped between feet. "But how come Bosslady wouldn't need you? You're her mate, aren't you? And you gotta help take care of the new pups and gotta take care of Mafa and be the awesome male to the Alpha and all that good stuff." She nodded all sage like. Things ought to be like that, shouldn't they?

Tukutu snorted. Maybe this hyena didn't really realize that he didn't like his son, but perhaps she was just so excited about...whatever she was excited about that she wouldn't of even noticed had it been right in front of her face.

Well, at least he was starting to decypher the odd nicknames that she seemed to give everyone.

"Mafa dun need me, 'er new litter ain't even mine. She should be fine with 'em, 's not like she even asked me to take care of M'bozi when 'e was just a lad." He shrugged. "'sides, she's got her heir, she dun need me anymore." He had started to get over the fact that she probably would never look at him again, and whatever, it wasn't like she ever paid attention to anything but herself for very long. That was just who she changed into after the original hyena pack had died out on her.

"It's not?" Zoma's head pulled back in surprise and shock, smile fading to a calmer expression with a little bit of pity rolled in. The female remained quiet for a moment, unsure of what else to say to him. Her maw tightened and pulled to one side in thought as she searched for the right words.

"I'm sorry, that.. rather sucks..." Was what she came up with, as she ran a forepaw across the ground. Her gaze fell, watching her own actions before returning to his own now from pity to some realization. "You don't seem too unhappy or disappointed in the matter though, did you not really like BossLady or something?"

"Mafa? Naaah, I liked 'er real well, 's just...y'see, she dun like me, never 'as....I think it's 'cause ah've known 'er for so long, 'n she's just not the same as she was when we were young'uns." He shrugged, flicking out a claw from a forepaw to take a look at while talking.

"'S easier to jus' not worry about it den get yer tail all twisted up, aye?" His attention shifted away from himself back to the hyena lady. "Was done is done, 'n 'opefully she'll care more about dem than she did M'bozi."

Though, he should take his own advice, seeing as how he never did a single thing for his own son.
