--- It had rained recently. Not bad rain, not the thick, gloomy, storm-cloud rain, but what most would think of the good rain. The refreshing rain. The strange rain that came while the sun still shone. Whatever rain it was, it was still had, soaking the land beneath it's clouds thoroughly and without much effort. A soft mist swirled through the crisp morning air, the sunlight golden and eyes, shining through the dripping trees.

--- Not far from where the bushes and leafy boughs broke into a small field, something was lying still on the ground. Something....dead? It seemed so by the odd coloration, though if there was any scent of death it was replaced by the scent, clean scent of dew. Every blade of grass was adorned with small, sparkling droplets of water, in the early sun causing it to shine like a thousand diamonds. Which in fact, made the discolored and bloody appearing creatures in the middle, more of an eye-sore, if that was humanly possible.

--- Despite her quite dead appearance, the thing laying on her back in the grass was in fact, alive. A blue-grey ear twitched softly as she lay, silver eyes kept closed as she lightly napped, soaking up the sunshine of the morn almost contently. Though her lack of movement suggested otherwise, and had once or twice been awoken by a naughty little fox trying to find some easy breakfast.

Musketeer roamed happily about the fringes and outside his packs territory to enjoy the rain as it filtered through the forest. He lifted his head and let his tounge catch the droplets for a moment. As the rain ceased and softened into a gentle mist he shook off the few drops that clung to his silver fur.

Slowly the male picked his way through the forest eager to streach his legs a bit with noise before going back on his silent patrol. Perhaps he would find his favorite past time, a pretty female. Oh there were plenty of pretty females in his packlands the trouble was they were either all relatives of his or worse under some crazy protection from his alpha, which tragically included no flirting!

It was a downright pity he wasn't allowed to excersize his charm, he was so caught up in how tragic it was that he wandered into a clearing and tripped over a corpse. A warm corpse?

--- Laying there amongst the grass, the femme was pleased and warmed by the sun. What more could one ask for? Earlier she'd managed to find an abandoned squirrel's nest, the crudely made thing that seemed like a hodge-podge attempt at a bird's home was surely washed from the tree by the rain, and to her surprise, it held four small squirrel kits. Delicious they were, soft and quite tender, the perfect breakfast. Now, being relatively healthy and full, some may ask for a warm body, which, unfortunately for her, was what she got, in the most unorthodox way.

--- Eyelids flew open in a hurry as she felt paws press down momentarily on her neck, before the strange silver thing catapulting over her body and onto the grass beside her. Shocked and quite peeved, the she-wolf sprung to her feet, wheezing and coughing as Necrala assumed a defensive posture. Her tail puffed up like a cat's, ears back as she lifted her lips against this, this, wolf! who snuck up on her.

With a huff and a quick shake off Musketeer turned quickly and stared at the femme before him. Well she was a female after all, and she had a certain air to her...the thing was that air appeared to be dead. If she didn't look so defensive he would have surley mistaken her for a fresh carcass.

"You've seen better days haven't ya sweetheart?" He smirked and sat down tilting his head at her. "Don't worry I don't intend to hurt you...though I'm sorry about my clumsy moment there."

He looked her over half assessing her charms and half checking her for any injury he may have caused. After all no matter a ladies looks it was generally what was inside that counted. He had come across rather ravishing females only to find out he would't want to be within ten feet of the psychopaths.

"You don't seem any worse for wear...? I'm Musketeer by the way." He gave her his best charming smile, she deserved it since he had stepped on her.

--- Eyes narrowing, Necrala made no comment on his first question, being quite offended. Her coat was a sensitive subject, and though she thoroughly expected it, it still didn't mean she accepted it. "You should be..." she replied curtly, head raising in a sign of dominance. Despite her ragged and quite carcass-like appearance, she was no push-over. A barrel-like chest and thick, well-built legs built from a basis of running and patrolling had kept her in top-shape.

--- "What business have you in my meadow?" The femme inquired sharply, once again ignoring his question and wrinkling her nose at his phony smile.

With a smirk he slowly circled the female his tail flicking up as he lifted his head and inhaled. He moved to sit back down infront of her ears perked, he liked her tone, maybe she wasn't as dead as she looked.

"YOUR meadow? Well sweetheart is I had known I was crossing into someone else's territory I'm sure I would have been much more careful. How can I make it up to you?" He grinned and lowered his head in mocking submission.

--- Already, the corpse-like wolf did not like this male. For one, he reeked out testosterone (she wouldn't admit for the life of his that it was slightly appealing), had run in, all willy-nilly into her meadow, and nearly choked her to death, by accident! If she was going to die she wasn't going to let it happen because of some silly rogue who didn't know where he was going. Though, by the scents intermingled with his one, she could pick out at least 4 others, which meant that there was a pack nearby....great. That was all she needed now, some nosy pack coming to run her off. And this was such a nice meadow....

---"My name is not 'sweetheart', wolf." She growled, not moving from her stiffly planted spot. "And you can get out of my meadow. I don't need you coming to muck it up." Necrala gave a sharp nod, not the least bit amused at his kindness act. She needed no pity.

Musketeer held back a chuckle, ohh he liked this one. Perhaps she would stick around, especially if this was 'her' meadow. He certainly hoped she did because he needed a little of this fiesty banter more often. He moved his nose close enough to almost brush hers despite the growl.

"Well maybe if you told me your name, Sweetheart. I could call you that instead." He smirked and lifted his head with a cocky grin.

"You don't REALLY want me gone, I'm sure you could use some company in ...your meadow?" He chuckled. "Thats what I'll do! I'll make it up to you by being your companion!" His tail wagged as he looked at her quite pleased with himself.

--- Oh ya, she really didn't like him. First he tries to kill her, and now he decides to mock her? This wolf would be chased out before the sun had risen fully, she promised herself that. As he moved closer the corpse-like femme felt the fur on the back of her neck raise, nose wrinkling. But even still she was too stubborn to move out of the way, too prideful for such. There was no way she was going to back down from a wolf like that, any wolf for that matter.

--- "Necrala." The wolf replied sharply, glaring daggers before re-adjusting her head to be higher than his once more.

--- "What? I don't want a companion, you stupid wolf! I want you to get your fur-laden hind out of my meadow. Understand?" The femme snapped, growing quite impatient with him. Without giving him a chance to response the decaying wolf turned abruptly and started off in the opposite direction. "Nevermind, if you won't leave, I will."

Oh but this one was proving most delightful! He grinned as she raised her head and tilted his respectfully. Necrala a unique name to fit the unique female, he decided he liked it.

"Alright Necrala it is then sweetheart." He laughed at hernext statement.
"Like my hind eh? It is rather nice, I do quite a bit of running, hunting, a little stream swimming now and then to keep fit!" He quickly stood and followed after her as she moved to leave.

"I shall escort you then!" He stated in a serious tone looking around as if someone would pop out to do her harm at any second.

--- She stopped in her tracks, the broad-snouted female turning around and looking back at her pursuer. What was with him? She had half a mind to rip his face off, but of course, then he'd turn and start off on her, which would cause quite a few problems as the male was much larger than she. The easiest thing to do was simply lose him some place and then away, despite her fondness for the clearing. She always found another place. This time far away from him, very far away.

--- "For the last time, I am not your 'sweetheart', your hind provides me no pleasure and I have no need for an escort. If I have a need for a mentally challenged, lying, ignorant pup, I'll find one myself. Now leave me be!" Necrala snapped, silver eyes narrowed to mere slits and blood-splattered fur bristling. It was quite a display.

"So you want pups eh?" He smirked and walked to her side as if that was right where he belonged. He peered into her eyes and gave a slight shiver before shaking his head.

"Thats quite a creepy trick sweethe-err Necrala...try a smile eh?" He smirked at her.

He decided he could spare the day to follow her, she was intriguing and he wondered if she might warm up to him. He certainly hoped so since he had taken quite a liking to her, he wondered if he gave her a nudge towards a stream if her color would change. He peered at her coat and decided it was just naturally that color. He sniffed at her and smiled, well she smelled rather appealing.

--- "No." The female stated shortly, taking a step in the opposite direction than the silver wolf was, letting a voluntary shiver shake her pelt as though to rid it from something tainted. "I never said that."

--- "I'll smile if you leave." She offered sarcastically, her tail giving an irked flick. The corners of her mouth turned upwards in a mocking smile/snarl towards Musketeer, hoping he'd get the message. A paw raised and she flinched lightly as he sniffed her, growing stiff as she watched him lest he tried to touch her.

Musketeer eyed the female curiously wondering why all the defensive gestures. He had only tripped over her once after all, not snuck up on her and beaten her. He stepped along with her as she moved the opposite way and tilted his head at her.

"Your very defensive you know? If you would just relax sweet-Necrala, why that smile is positivly charming." He chuckled and moved his nose closer daringly.

He rather liked her scent it was fresh and clean, it would be hard to find again if he lost her trail. He looked at her eyes and held back the shiver this time, they were so dark and shining, perfect place to drown in thought. He was certain there were plenty of interesting thoughts swirling through the she-wolfs mind. Tragedy was she didn't seem to want to share any of them with him, so selfish!

"I won't leave until I feel your completely safe!" He smirked at her. "Why the whole world is full of dangers and if something happened to you after I tripped over you, it would practically be my fault! I couldn't live with myself." He nodded.

--- Necrala rolled her eyes, preparing to move away once more as he snuck his muzzle in closer. Nostrils flickered as she took in his musky scent, slightly taken aback by it. Muscles relaxed momentarily as though the smell was some sort of strange endorphen releaser.

--- Eyes flicked away as silver auds met her own, now quite flustered. Why was he so damn persistent? What trick was he trying to play on her? Whatever it was, the femme really didn't like the sound of it.

--- "I'm fine by myself, I don't need any help from you." She replied with a snort, her patience growing quite short with this wolf. Turning around once more the oddly-colored female took off into the brush, hoping the male wouldn't follow, or that he wouldn't catch up with her. If he wouldn't leave, she would.
