The was a sunny but breezy and chilly day out, giving hint to the coming snow that lay in the months ahead. The red mare grazed happily in the afternoon sun that flooded the meadow. She wasn't thinking about anything particular nor was she took concerned with anything as of lately. She had caught up with pretty much everyone in her family over the past few days, or so she thought she had cuaght up with everyone. Now she just enjoyed herself on such a nice day.

oh little did Settia know that there was even more news to come her way today after havign been caught up with everyone even Tori herself til recently. Tori had been feeling very off since her 'one night stand' you could call it and she didnt know what to think of it specialy sicne she had been gaining weight also. now very worried about what could come of it, she went in search of one she knew who would knwo what was going on, her mother. ears flat on her head and face showing she was rather concered over soemthing she nickered to her mother whom she caught sight of grazing. no one could ever miss her mother as she stood out like a blood spot in the snow.

Settia lifted her head at the familiar sound of her daughter's nicker and looked about the meadow, finally catching sight of her. The red mare nickered back happily and began to walk towards her. It had been sometime since she had last seen her and she was glad she had run into her today. As she drew closer, the older mare could tell that something was not right but she couldn't quite place what it was. This worried her greatly.

Tori moved over to her mother and gave her a nuzzle. " hey mom." she gave a small smile to her mother. " could i possibly ask you a question?" diving right into what was worring her, she knew her mom wouldnt flip if she came to conferm she was pregnat. her dad on the other hand she was worried what he would do if it happened to be she was pregnat.

Settia nuzzled her daughter back and gave her a warm smile. She was deffinately sure that something was bothering her now. She also could catch a faint change in her scent and had a little bit of an idea what her daughters question might be. "Sure honey. Ask away, you know you can tell me anything." she said and smiled again, glad to feel needed by her children.

Tori took a deep breath as she tryed to manage to ask her questiin she so deeply wanted to know as she truely needed to know. ".......... mom how do you know if your...." she went silent for a moment before she contiuned. ". pregnat?" blushing and looking away from her mother, she was a bit ashamed to have to ask. after all she shouldn't have ended up pregnat specialy with a stallion she was not mated to or so she felt but in the end she cared about kainen too much and now was pregnat and was about to be told so.

Settia was silent for a few moments as she thought through the information she was just given. She sense of smell was right in what it had picked up and she was sure her daughter was pregnant. "Well, for one you eat more than usual and crave things that you normally wouldn't. That leads you into gaining a lot of weight. Some mares get especially moody. And you also get a bit protective about things." she began. "Plus to others your scent changes. Like I could tell something was different and had guessed what you wanted to ask me about even before you said anything, just by your scent. It's not really strong yet." she said and waited for her daughter to reply back to what she had just learned.

Tori's eyes grew wide as her mother jsut confermed what she hoped wasnt true because her and kaenin werent exsactly mates. she was beyond shocked that what she had though might be possible was true and her mother confermed it. "........ mom what would you say if i told you that you just confermed for me that fact that i am pregnat?" now she was beyond startign to freak out over this but tryed to keep calm.

"Well I sort of knew it was true, like I said, just by your scent. And I am really happy for you. So who is the lucky father-to-be? Do I know him?" she asked, getting just a little bit overly excited at the thought of having more grand babies. The older mare smiled brightly at her daughter, clearly happier about the whole thing than the younger mare was.

Tori definatly noticed her mother was a whole lot happier about this than she was but that was because she felt she should have be mated to kaenin before having his foals. besides she was scared to death kaenin would regect her and the foals that where both their fleash and blood. " no mom you don't know him nether does dad , jazz or fenrir. would you mind not sayign anything to them? i want to tell them myself plus knowing Jazz and Dad they would want to beat the stallion up. his name is Kaenin and he is who i been around with for a while........." she went silent for a few moments. " but him and i arent mates.... and im scared he might do what jazz's mare did to him when they had foals."

Settia smiled and nuzzled her daughters cheek. "Oh honey, don't worry I won't tell. It is not my place, even if I am your mother. As for what happened between Jazz and Sundance, that is all in the past now and it was more her than it was Jazz. Jazz stayed and wanted to be there for her but it was her decision to leave. As you have said, I do not known this Kaenin and so I cannot reassure you he will stay or not. But if he is anything like a respectable stallion he will take responsibility for the situation that has come about." she said and smiled again at her daughter to try and comfort her. It did worry her a bit that Tori was with foal and unmated but she hoped for the best for her still.

Tori was visably releived by her mothers reaction and reasurance. smiling and giving a nuzzle back she was more calm than before when she first started to talk to her mother. " thanks mom you still helpped me alot just now. and i will tell dad and my brothers eventualy but i just dont need them freaking out about it." now a bit happier about the situation,she now wondered how she was going to handle being a first time mother. " if Kaenin does stay with me and helps do you think him and i will be good parents? and umm one more thing about Kaenin that you need to know....he is a wingged stallion so theres a chance that the foals will have wings as well."

"He is a winged Soquili you say? Hmm...I wonder is Dustin knows him then." the red mare said pondering the idea. She had never talked much to her teepee mate since he was a little on the unusual side, atleast to her he was. "I am sure you will let the boys know all in good time. And you can bet that I will know when you do tell them. Jazz will come running to me to tell me whats up, since he gets out more than I do anymore. AS for being good parents, you were raised by good parents and so I am sure you will be a good parent, but only time can tell. You know though that if you need any help or advice that me and your father are both here." the older mare said and nuzzled her daughters cheek again. "And don't worry about the wings thing. It will be nice to have winds in the family and besides your nephew is pink." she said smiling brightly thinking about her grandson.

" i dont think many know Kaenin since he really sticks to staying alone unless i'm around with him." Tori gave a small smile and gave a nuzzle back. "knowing jazz he will flip out jsut as much as fenrir and dad. thanks for keeping this a secert til i tell them mom and i know i can come to you two for help." now tori was musing over the fact she would infact most like have atlest one wingged foal who would have to be tought to fly and she helped kaenin would stay to do that. " i just hope kaenin will be around to teach his foals who do end up with his wings how to fly because it would be a shame if he doesnt." giving a small sigh she dearly hoped he would stay with her through it. giving a yawn she was geting tired from all of this since she had been stressing out so much over it all.

"Yes, I don't think many know of Dustin either. He tends to stick to his own. He's a rather odd one at that. Anyway, as I have said before, I am sure that Kainen will stick with you through this. If he doesn't you can count on your father or brothers to scare the living daylights out of him, thats for sure!" Settia said with a chuckle of amusement. "But don't worry, I wouldn't tell them anything that you don't want me to so as to keep them off your back. You don't anymore stress added to what you already have."
