It's a Psychic vs. Dark battle! In-game, the Absol would totally pwn, but in here, the Espeon has the HP advantage! How will they fare? 1000/1000 vs. 800/800

Battleground selection!
The audience held their breath as the randomizer hovered over the four choices. After what seemed like eternity, the arrow pointed to the...
Water field! Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water.

Piney stood on the deck above the arena, eying the opponent at the other side warily. She was acquainted with him before, during that trip on Inhinx, but she didn't know his extent of battling skills... until now.
"Go Daybreak!" She cried out and threw the Pokeball into the air. It released a red beam of light that eventually formed an Espeon, standing calmly on the platform closest to her officer.
((Roll the same dice as me. If you get higher than me, you go first, otherwise I do. =D))

((Alrighty then ^_^))
Zen inhaled deeply, closing his eyes. HIs first real battle in Zatou. He exhaled, opening his eyes. His opponent was the officer from the Inhinx trip. Hopefully, she wasn't still pissed at him for taking that map from her.
"Armageddon!" Zen shouted, throwing the camo poke'ball. A beam of red light came out of the ball, forming into a magneficent Black Absol. The crowed 'Oohed' and 'Ahhed' at the beautiful Absol.
"You ready?" He asked Piney, assuming his stance.

((Shadow, you were suppose to roll a 10-sided dice so we can see who goes first. XD
... But since I rolled a one you'll probably beat me anyway. XP))
"Of course I'm ready!" Piney exclaimed. The referee had determined that Zen would go first, and she sighed. Not that she was that upset over it, but it would've been nice to make the first move.

((Que'?! Man, I stink at reading XP. It's a 6-sided for damage right?))
"You'd better be." Zen called back. Sweet, he went first, thank you Ref. "Alright Armageddon! Use Shadow Ball!" Zen called, knowing full well that Shadow Ball hardly ever missed.
Zen had called upon him, and was counting on him. The bad thaing was though. His opponent was that Espeon named Daybreak. More like Heartbreak.
No, he couldn't let feeling get in the way of battle. Armageddon lifted his head up, mouth open. A shadowy mass fomed inside of it, filling his mouth. He launched it upward, and then jumped. He met the Shadow Ball, and slashed it towards Daybreak with his Blade. Red eyes watched the Shadowy mini-meteor go straight for the Psycic-type cat.

Even since that Absol had been 'flirting' with her, Daybreak wanted an excuse to claw his eyes out. Now, she technically could, but it would be a horrendous thing to do in an official battle, and Piney wouldn't approve. Too bad there weren't any large objects to throw either.
Wrapped up in her thoughts, she almost didn't get the chance to dodge the Shadow Ball. Leaping out of the way at the last second, she also almost didn't make it to the nearest platform. Stumbling, the tip of her tail got wet, and Daybreak glared at Armageddon viciously.
At least the Espeon was restraining her instincts for this battle. Piney was afraid that she could go feral, driven on her hate/fear relationship of Dark Pokemon. And her mood lightened up when she dodged the Absol's attack.
"Give him a Shadow Ball of your own!"
Daybreak smirked, finally getting a chance to beat him up. Summoning the dark energy that floated around the stadium, she condensed it into a glowing murky ball and hurled it at her opponent.

"Dang." Zen said, snapping his fingers. he Shadow ball missed. He saw the one from the Espeon coming, and his eyes popped open. "ARMAGEDDON! Dodge it!"
Armageddon turned around in the air to give Zen a sorry look, and heard his command. Oh crap. He looked suddenly at the mass of shadowy energy, and was hit right in the face. He plumeted towards the water, falling in. There was a huge splash as he hit the water, and the crowed let out a sigh.
'Nice one.' Zen thought, grimacing at the splash. He had a few more tricks up his sleve though. "Armageddon! Hyper Beam!"
From under the surface of the water, Armageddon could hear his master's call. Hyper Beam? Already? Kinda harsh, but it had to be done. Armageddon swam under the platform that Daybreak was on. He gathered his Power in the blue gem on hisforehead, and a large yellow circle started to appear under Daybreak's platform.

Oops! That Hyper Beam was way too fast to dodge, not to mention that she wasn't expecting that kind of attack in the first place.
Daybreak was hit by the attack in the chest and smacked into a wall before splashing into the water. She was extremely dazed by the attack, but managed to clamber onto a platform. Laying there and panting, she worked frantically to clear her mind and wait for Piney's next command.
"Ack!" Piney shouted as Daybreak took the Hyper Beam and fell into the water. She was relieved that she surfaced and was on dry land again, but neither of them had much of an advantage now.
"Swift attack!"
Daybreak's gem shone as a different kind of energy was formed into glowing stars. With a flick of her tail, the stars lunged at the Absol with lightning speed.

Ack! Not a Swift! Armageddon was hit in the stomach, falling onto the center platform. This Espeon had no mercy. He glared straight at her. She was good, really good.
"Ouch." Zen muttered. He knew that swift had to hurt. As Armageddon got back up, Zen sighed in relief. But he was 300 point behind. This stunk. His only hope was that Daybreak would miss, and Armageddon would score a critical. Then it hit him. Night Slash. Coupled with Super Luck, it might be a critical. "Alright Armageddon, us Night Slash!"
Armageddon's blood red eyes turned black, as well as his blade and claws. An ominus aura covered them, and Armageddon lept and dived for Daybreak.

Daybreak knew that he was going to attack before he actually did, by sensing that aura that built around him, preparing for a Night Slash.
She rolled sideways to avoid getting hurt, and rolled a bit too far to the right. The Espeon was plunged in the water up to the waist before holding onto the edge and scrambling back up.
Daybreak really needed to work on her balance...
"Phew!" Piney let out a sigh of relief as her Pokemon dodged the attack. So far she had been good at not getting struck by moves that would inflict more damage than normal. But how long could she keep this up?
"Hidden Power now!"
Daybreak turned to face Armageddon with glowing sparks gathering around her as she concentrated. Thinking how miserable he'd be to be beaten down by a Psychic Pokemon, she unleased the orbs at full fury.

"Crap!" Zen shouted after Armageddon's attack missed. Why was he missing so muich? Was he just a poor trainer? Or was he undeserving?
The master wasn't looking to good. Had he dissapointed him? Or was Master Zen just dissapointed at himself? As Armageddon pondered, the Hidden Power orbs hit him, nearly knocking him off the platform. He turned to face Daybreak, glaring at her with hateful eyes. She was the reason Zen was dissapointed. She was the one who made Zen depressed. Now it was time to show Zen what he was really made of. He turned around and barked at Zen. (You fool! Command me, tell me to attack this Psycic!) "SOL! ABSOL SOL AB!"
"What?" Zen asked, giving Armageddon his most confused look. "I can't understand you. Just, just do whatever." Zen said, sighing. But Armageddon continued his barking, and finally Zen understood. Armageddon was attempting to make hism feel better. "Alright, one more try. Give it all ya got! DARK PULSE!"
Finallly, the master gave the order. Armageddon sucked all the depression from his master, as well as anyone in the audience. A black orb appeared in his bouth, ready to be fired. HE stepped forward, reared his head, and aimed right at Daybreak, unleashing all the negative emotions in the room.

A dark attack! Daybreak was overwhelmed by the Absol's Dark pulse, and the fact that she was near the edge of the platform didn't help either. Guided by instincts for a split second, she panicked and ran off the land and into the water.Piney was amused by the spectacle, but didn't dare to show it. It was funny to see a Pokemon run off the platform and fall into the water. "Get as far away from that Absol as possible!" She commanded the Espeon. She hoped that this would diminish the damage from his special attacks, and any close-range attacks could be detected beforehand. "And give him a good Shadow Ball!" Listening to her officer's commands underwater, she swam up to the surface and gasped for air. Doggy-paddling (or prehaps kitty-paddling in her case) to the opposite platform from Armageddon, she pulled herself up from the water and shook herself.
Daybreak proceeded to pull in the residue energy from the Dark Pulse, and concentrated into another pulsing ball. She whipped her tail towards her opponent, and the attack went flying straight at him.((800/1000)) ((Dice roll in here))

"Shadowball again?" Zen asked, scratching his chin. He winced slightly as the attack hi Armageddon, causing him to fall into the water. Plus, the Espeon was at the other side of the arena. This was bad. Now Armageddon was only at half his health. He definitley needed to score a critical and dodge if he wanted to win.Armageddon was struck by the shadowy mass, and fell into the water. He awaited Zen's command after rising to the surface. He needed to have a good strategy, and he really hoped Zen had one."Alright Armageddon, Dive under the water and use Night Slash!" Zen called, hoping his plan would work."Sol"(Afirmitive) Armageddon barked, diving into deep water. He gathered all the dark energy he could, and concentrated it all on his Blade. As his usaully white as snow blade grew midnight black, Armageddon swam to the middle platform, sataying under the water. At last, when all the energy was gathered into his blade, Armageddon sprang forward from the water, aiming for Daybreak.((400/800)) ((Dice roll here))

Daybreak jolted to the right, but the Night Slash still slashed at her flank. Growling, she still kept Piney's advice in mind and leaped to another platform, staying far away from that Absol as possible."Good Daybreak!" Piney called out. She wondered if it was possible to use a Psychic attack on a Dark Pokemon, contrary to the belief that those moves had nil effect on them. Psychic was the Espeon's strongest move, and it might do more damage than the Shadow Balls, Hidden Powers, and Swifts. "We're trying something different... Use a Psychic!" She watched the next moments closely, hoping that she didn't make a mistake. A Psychic? Daybreak remembered that it had no effect on Dark Pokemon like Absol, so why was she trying this now?
Whatever reason, she still had to obey her officer. She focused and dragged the mental energy out of the corner of her mind. The gem acted as a gateway for the psychic flow, and it busted through with an incredible force.((700/1000)) ((Dice roll in here.))
