Story

The once mighty army of the country Wispen has been defeated by an even greater force from an invading nation. Now the troops, less than half of the original number, make a long treck into the unclaimed mountains to escape their enemy and attempt to regroup.

The soldiers are tired and sadened by this defeat, but their general is determined to try to regain their honor one day. By now, it is almost certain that the capital of Wispen has been captured and that their families and friends back home are all under a new rule.

However, they will not be able to return for many months, as winter is approaching and they will be trapped in the canyons until the snow melts. But they have no choice but to remain here. They are not yet ready to attempt another attack on the enemy nation. And so the Wispen army settles down for a long, hard winter...

Bio:Although somewhat common, mages are still shunned by many people that equate the magic of mages with evil. This pretty much sums up Teroh's life. His knack at magic, being determined at a young age Teroh learned magic from his uncle. That was until his uncle was killed by a local mob after he was blamed for a fire that was set to a nearby house. After that Teroh, not knowing what to do with his life joined the military. Bio: Kenya lead a fairly normal life, growing up. Her parents were royal scholars, and she had a pretty cushy life. However, she didn't let it get to her head, and spent much of her time working in the castle library to keep her hands from being idle. She has a unique skill for being empathetic to others, and is a good listener.

She always wanted to be like her older brother, Cedric. He was one of the greatest shaman's in the royal palace and there was potential of him becomming commander. However, he died in battle while protecting those with him. Kenya was devistated, and has hardly spoken since she saw him fall.

Her father was a cavalier years ago when she was 6 years old. He was killed in battle, and she grieves to this day. She tries to hide it, and is often successful.
Her mother did not want her to join, but Nereid fought back and eventually got her way.

She named the sparrow in honour of Semele. Although Nereid is unaware of the fact, she is related to Prince Hermes, heir to the throne of a distant country as his cousin.

She had lived with his family of a noble status for some time after her parents had left. Her mother and father were both soldiers of the Wispen army, before the great defeat, but they had gone missing days after their journey else where leaving Rena alone. When Wispen had fallen and the battle was over, Rena was separated from her good friend and can only hope that he still lives, even if that means he's captured or forced to live under the new rule.

Appearance: Jericho is just over six feet in height, with a broad shouldered frame hardened from years of diligent exercise and training. He has long brown hair that he wears in a haphazard ponytail, and piercing violet eyes. His face and body show scars from his youth, a time spent in studying alchemy and the occult. To hide them, he wears a long-brimmed brown hat, and a dark blue coat with a high collar. Underneath, he wears the standard blue uniform of a soldier, including the heavy leather boots and durable gloves.
Personality: Jericho is a somewhat abrasive personality; being scarred at an early age, he endured a lot of social mistreatment from his so-called peers. It means he is often terse and not one for conversation, but if he becomes comfortable with others, it opens him up and exposes him for what he is at heart; a slightly quirky, but reliable and fiercely loyal to his friends.
Bio: The middle son of a nobleman, Jericho was the odd man out in his family. His elder brother joined the military, and the youngest joined the priesthood. As the middle child, his future was supposed to be the handling of the family business, and the eventual arranged marriage to the daughter of another of society's upwardly mobile. But Jericho wanted more, so much so that he spent his every free moment studying magic and the occult. he invested a small fortune into the collection of occult iconography, ancient books and artifacts, even eventually purchasing an alchemist's still. His plan for an elixir of power, along with the still, blew up in his face; scarred, he lost whatever social promise he may have held, and after another fight with his father, was disowned and cast out of the family, the business turned over to his younger sister. Aimless and destitute, he joined the military under an assumed name, forever putting the truth of his life behind him.

Other: For bravery in combat, and his instinctual act of assuming the role of leader when the General was struck down in combat, Jericho is for all intensive purposes the acting General of the regiment. He carries with him the only relic of his past journey into the occult, the sword Laglace. Although the blade is made of glass, it is actually lighter than most swords, very sharp, and nearly indestructible.

Appearence: Amos is a gruff and weather hardened man. He is lean but strong, with salt and pepper hair. His beard is always at a reasonable length, even when traveling without luxuries, it covers his chin and cheeks. He has a rather horrendous scar crossing his eye, going from temple to nose. The eye the scar crosses is white and unseeing, his other is deep brown. His nose is crooked, as if it had been broken many times, and his mouth is in a constant frown of displeasure.
Personality: Amos' appearance gives away much of his personality, not that he can be thought akin to barbarians. He is very distant, though he is not silent. Amos is always very quick with a witty insult.He is battle hardened and has seen the Wispen army since its glory days. He has seen death many times, and rumor has it that his eyes have never batted away a tear.
Bio:He is a renowned fearless fighter in the army, and no one dares to cantradict him for it. He grew up in training, not knowing much else, but over the years he has see the world, its glory, and its destruction. More to come later.

Personality: He is a kind hearted soul that has always believed in a sense of honor. He is a flirt and is always trying to get the attention of the ladies. He will fight with all his heart and never backs down unless the fight is pointless.
Bio: Ryu has always belived that the human spirit is indominable, and that has sprung form his childhood, which is all his parents had in his youth. He was poor as poor could be, living off of scraps thrown to him by passersby and the occasional money thrown at him for entertainment by the nobles. Soon though, he found a sword outside a forge, taking it for his own. After honing his skills for years, he was taken into the army, but was discharged for theft, even though it was for his family. He now uses his sword skills to fight for the sake of good, against the bandits and vagabonds that would see he and his friends dead.

Even though she is young, she has a very good education in herbs. When the war started her and her lover, Marcus, ran off to join the effort. He enlisted as a foot soldier, she enlisted as a Cleric. Bio: Maverick got his name from the former rock band that he played in as a guitarist in an underground club in Wispen. He and his bandmates were recruited out of desperate need for militia in attempt to bear extra arms against the coming invasion. They fought bravely defending Wispen's gates until Maverick witnessed every one of his friends die in combat. Maverick, in shock waited until it was his turn to die by the same blade, until he was rescued by a Cavalier. But before they could acquaint themselves, his savior was struck in the throat by an arrow. Maverick has taken that person's place to avenge his loved ones and to take back Wispen where his family awaits his return.

Bio: She is the daughter of a traveling merchant but she and her father's troup got seperated two years prior during an attack. Having travelled most of her life, she does not have a place she calls "home". Her mage powers are all self-taught so her control of them is not very great. Her greatest skills are her people skills. This comes from following her father to many different places. The rest of her family died of illness leaving just herself and her father. Despite having to scrouge to survive during the times of war she manages to stay quite upbeat.

Bio: Achilles grew up the son of a King, and it didn't show. He was raised like any other boy in his fathers court, immediately sent to training. He trained since he was birthed and grew up with his soldiers. He knows every one of them by heart, because of the torture they went through. Once his father died, Achilles became King and Commander of the Myrmidon. He has now been trapped in the bloody canyon, with the rest of his myrmidon.

Bio: Avi grew up in a female household. Her father had died some time ago from natural causes and her widowed grandmother lived with her and her mother Raziela. Her mother was an elite Pegasus knight and trained Avi to follow in her footsteps, but when Avi found the little baby wyvern that she named Andra, she couldn't help but follow the path of a Wyvvern knight. She was tough, always playing in the dirt with the boys of the town and training with her mother. Her grandmother was the gentle figure in her life, teaching her the ways of the gentle woman and Gypsy lore.
Now seventeen, Avi is a fierce fighter with her "Imoto" or little sister, as she calls her wyvern. She fought with her mother until the day Raziela died of an infected head wound in the battle at Wispen. Avi mourns her mother's death but keeps a bright face so as not to worry her friends.

Bio: As a child he was beaten and later abandoned by his father. His mother couldn't stand up to his father for the fear that he would kill her or cause her to have a miscarriage. At the age of 11 he was forced to leave home. He roamed the lands for several days and when he was about to die from lack of sleep and food. He was saved by an elderly couple who raised him until the age of 17, when they died and left everything to him. At the age of 18 he left the land they gave him in search for something new and for an adventure.
