Irene was rogue. She lived here now, in this forest. It was lonely being by herself, but she still had the animals. She knew every nook and cranny of this forest, at least just about. She sat on a boulder, sun peeking from the trees like a spotlight on her, as she played with the plants and hummed a song.

A loud roar echoed throughout the forest, making the birds scatter. A dark, hundred foot long shape hovered above the forest angrily. Typhoon growled softly, accidentally releasing a small shower of water on the forest below. The dragon's eyes burned with frustration, as she couldn't even control her power of water yet. "I hate this power!" she hissed to herself, remembering how she had been outcast because she shot water instead of fire. Months later she decided to try the water dragons. They had now just turned her away because she was born into a tribe of fire dragons. Typhoon slowly let herself float back down, landing on the forest floor in the middle of a clearing. She watched with a angry yet smug expression as several deer fled. She knew normally she wouldn't have tried to scare them, but right now she was in a bad mood. A very bad mood.

Irene saw the sight, at first in fear. Then as the image shrunk se was passed by two frightened deer. Who's causing such ruckus in this forest? Irene walked over in the direction. It was a while away, but she managed to get there and hid in the safety of a tree. She looked at the dragon. It looked angry, yet sad. "What are you doing here?" Irene asked the dragon. The only thing that could be seen of Irene was her silhouette.

Typhoon yawned, revealing her gleaming white teeth. Her head rested on her foreclaws as she opened one intelligent, golden eye to stare directly at the silhouette. "Obviously, resting for a moment," she said lazily. She was not angry anymore, and mildly interested in the silhouette, knowing it would be no threat to her, at least at the moment. "But other than that, looking for somewhere to live for the moment, considering I'm now a rouge and wanted dragon." Typhoon yawned again, as if the whole subject didn't have any importance to her. As she did a spout of water emerged from her mouth, sprinkling over the grass in front of her. She sighed, and it was obvious that stream of water was the reason she was out here, instead of home with her Clan of Fire Dragons.

"A rogue..." Irene looked down. She was also a rogue from the amazonians. She knew what it was like to be different. "Well..." Irene transformed into a squirrel to quickly get down from the tree, then turned back when she was in full view. "The forest is home to many creatures. I don't mind you sticking around, if you don't plan to harm any of the forest." Irene knew dragons had to eat, but unlike the water dragons that eat only sea creatures Irene didn't know what fire dragons ate. Possibly the same thing, but she had no knowledge of it.

"Hmm. I wouldn't harm it anyway," Typhoon said, yawning again. She suddenly thought about food and wondered if she could hunt. "Are there any kinds of lakes around here? Any with large fish or squid, I mean? Or possibly any sea creatures bothering this little, interesting forest?" Another thought pricked her mind. Only water dragons like fish, squid and other sea creatures. Fire dragons prefer forest creatures. "I feel like a half-breed of dragon already," she thought sarcastically.

"There are many lakes here full of fish and creatures. Also, there are certain animals you can eat from the forest. Creatures who feel it is their time to go, the ones who want their souls set free, will come to you willingly." Irene smiled. She seemed like an okay dragon, why would she be rogue?

Typhoon stood up, her great wings beating steadily as she rose off the ground, then hovered. "Ok, then....." she said uncertainly. "Now I've got to find a cave for a home," she muttered to herself, before taking off at a very slow, loping pace towards the South. "I hope this forest doesn't mind me fixing it to my tastes, either." She thought as she went, as well as looking for a nice, calm lake or pond that could hold a dragon. She would prefer the cave be near or in water, even better if it had its front entrance underwater. After all, dragons, especially water dragons, were known for their taste in designing their homes, which could consist of many rooms.

Irene watched he dragon leaving, and figured she was looking for a place to call home. There was a large clear pond full of trout and other edible fish that has a cave with the entrance floor in the pond. It was a beautiful, hidden place filled with weeping willow trees and at night it had lots of fireflies. It was the most beautiful place in Irene's mind, besides the very place she settled in.

Typhoon was strangely happy in this new enviorment as she flew over the vast yet majestic forest. She had found and tried several lakes now, some even having underwater caverns, but none had quite suited her tastes. Still, she was more patient than normal. She wanted somewhere good. But she figured she had gone far enough to the South. With a sigh, she turned, and at full force, flew back to the exact clearing where she had met the woman. With a sigh, the dragon realized she forgot to give her name, or even get the woman's name. That person had been nice to her. It was the first time ever. Typhoon had never gotten....kindness before. Typhoon lowered her speed greatly as she passed the clearing, and she resumed her search for the perfect home again. In the distance, she could make out a small lake or large pond, she couldn't tell which. It was sort of in the middle. "It isn't too far from the clearing," Typhoon thought. "It could work...It's got a sense of...wonder around it." Typhoon beat her wings for a moment as she hovered over the pond. Around her, fireflies out just before the sun set blinked around her, creating a aura of wonder and majesticness around her. Any person or animal would find the silhouette of the dragon powerful against the setting sun. Then, with a grace only a water dragon could have, she dove head first into the pond, her wings folded tight against her body, her neck stretched full out, her tail streaming in the wind. She barely made a splash as she once again began to inspect the pond.

Irene smiled and walked over to the dragon, watching her enjoy the secret pond. "So, you found the hidden cave. It's one of the most beautiful paces here." She took another step. "By the way, my name is Irene."

Typhoon's head broke the surface a moment later. She had heard Irene clearly, even though she was underwater. "The pond is wonderful," she said, adding a dragon's purr to show how much she liked the place. "My name is Typhoon, by the way." She took a breath of air and dove back down, comfortably swimming through the water. Her wings were folded against her body to minimize resistance on them. Carefully she wandered into the tunnel entrance, looking around. She hoped it lead to an open space and not more water. She headed up it, managing to fit through. As she quickly came to the end, her head broke the surface of the water. She pulled herself out of the entrance and looked around. She was in a medium-sized cavern. A subterranean stream flowed through it, about seven to eight feet wide. It seperated in a fork, one flowing through a small opening at the back, the other coming to form a small pool in which Typhoon had just emerged from. The ground beside the stream was dry, and just a few inches above the water. All in all, Typhoon figured it could work. All she'd have to do was dig out the wall a little bit and enlarge the cavern and entrance a bit, find a smaller, second cavern or two and connect them, and build the escape route and ventilation holes. For a dragon, it wouldn't be too hard. Taking a deep breath, she dove back into the small pond and manuvered out of the entrance. She sped to the surface after and shot straight out of the water, opening her great wingspan to hover above the water, her eyes sparkling.

Irene nodded, glad Typhoon had found a place. But she heard something, or rather felt the vibrations of something new in the forest. Irene looked behind her, something wasn't right. "Pleasd to meet you Typhoon, I have somewhere to be, excuse me." Irene turned and started walking, but became a fox and ran into the woods.

Typhoon's eyes narrowed as she watched Irene run off. She closed her eyes, and concentrated. The small whisker-like sensors on the sides of her face twitched. Typhoon opened her eyes. She felt the vibrations, but wasn't sure. Taking a breath, she dove underwater and did it again. They were defintely there. She rose to the surface, and did a water take off. Typhoon rose higher and higher into the air, to the point where her silhouette appeared to be a large bird, such as a hawk or eagle. She then flew off, tracking the vibrations. Now that she was here, she felt obligated to protect her new home and the creatures in it. She told herself she would see if the new thing was a threat or not, and if it wasn't, she'd head back and begin working on the caverns.
