 Kisa carefully examined a small flower. She sniffed it lightly, then sneezed. She picked the flower and held it in her mouth and walked over to the nearby stream. She stared at her own reflection for a moment before turning away in dismay. She sat beside the bank and sighed. ***
Ronin stood boldly on the edge of a cliff. He stared off into the distance. The landscape was beautiful. Today is the day, he thought, no more being a helpess baby anymore! He ran fullspeed toward the cliff and leaped into the air and spread his wings. He soon found himself plumeting towards the forest below.

Hiro trudged slowly through the forest, freaquently shifting his gaze from left to right, trying to find something he recognized. A landmark, a tree, a stone...anything. He sighed and lowered his head. If only he had asked Kisa how to get to that stream she had told him about earlier, he wouldn't be lost. But of course, he could not let Kisa think he was weak and somehow incapable of finding his way through the forest, so he simply told her, "Yeah that stream, I know where it is." That was a lie, he couldn't even remember the name of the stream, or if it even had a name. 'I didn't think it would be this hard to find...' he thought to himself. He decided that his best bet was to just keep going straight, then he could at least find his way out of the forest...eventually.

Ronin vigorously flapped his wings in a despirate attempt to save himself. It did no use. He was falling fast. He didn't know what else to do, so he stuck out his wings, making them as big as he could. Just before he hit the trees, an updraft caught him and slowed him down a little. However, not enough to keep him in the air. He crashed into the treetops and began to fall straight down.
"GAHHHH!" he screamed as he hit a branch and then another.
Just below him he noticed another kit. Ronin hadn't been aiming for the poor thing, but it just so happened that he crashed right on top of him.

As Hiro continued to walk, he heard something crashing through the treetops. He looked up to see what all the ruckus was about, and just as he peered upward a blue and white kit landed on top of him, knocking him to the ground.
"Hey! What's the big idea!?" He said, pushing the other kit off of him and standing back up. "You can't just go jumping out at other foxes like that! You're lucky I'm tough, you coulda hurt someone! What were you doin up there anyway? Trying to catch a bird or something?...sheesh."

Houka glanced upwards just in time to see what looked like a kit jumping off a distant cliff. "Koori, did you see that?" He asked, shocked. "A kit fell from a cliff! We should go find it."Koori glanced over as well, just in time to see te kit fall into the treetops. She just nodded and started quickly towards the area the kit must have landed in, Houka right behind her. She caught the scent of two kits and headed toward them. She found a black, dark blue, and white kit and a black, light blue, and white kit."Koori!" Houka exclaimed in a whisper. "The lighter fox is a Modiphim!"

"Sorry, friend," Ronin apologized as he rolled over and stood up. "I was flying. Hadn't really been trying to hit you, just got lucky I guess," he laugh and then realized the other kit might not find his joke very funny. Ronin smiled. "It's nice to meet you, by the way. My name is Ronin," he gave a cute little bow.
Ronin paused for a moment when he caught sight of two adult foxes out of the corner of his eye. He wasn't sure if the adults meant them any harm or not.

Hiro sighed, "It's ok, just be more careful next time." He watched as Ronin bowed and introduced himself. "Ya don't gotta bow...I'm not a prince or anything...my name is Hiro. I'm trying to find a.." Just then he noticed two adult foxes, a fiery red male and a snowy white female, making their way towards them. "Oh great..." he sighed. 'I'm never gonna get to that stupid stream...'

Kisa sighed. She hoped Hiro hadn't gotten lost. He said he knew where it was. Kisa began to worry that something might have happened to him. She threw her flower into the stream and curled up into a little ball. What if he had decided he didn't want to come? What if he wasn't planning on coming at all? A tear slid down Kisa's cheek.

A long ways back, a small water patterned kit had discovered the stream and had been following it to see where it lead. After a while of walking along side of it, she came upon another female kit who seemed to be upset. "Are you ok?" she asked, her Byakugan eyes looking at the other kit with concern. "What's wrong?" ----------------------- A small female kit had been making her way through the forest, eying her surroundings wearily. She had been born alone into the world, left only with her name. Ren. Ren was an interesting looking little fox, considering the entirety of her body was covered in different colored stripes. The most interesting part about her appearance though was that even her eyes had rings around them. At the moment, she pause in her tracks as she heard voices up ahead. Her kit-like curiosity taking over, she proceeded cautiously towards the source of conversation.

Kisa was startled at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. Kisa hid her face hoping that the other kit wouldn't see she was about to cry.
"I...I.." she sniffled a few times before continuing. "I'm alright," she mumbled. She tried to dry her eyes, but with no luck. Her tears began to pour down. She wasn't even sure why she was crying. But the thought of another fox seeing her like this, made her feel worse. She was worried the other kit would make fun of her.

Ronin was about to stroll up to the two adults and introduce himself (despite the chance that they might hurt him), when he thought her heard something behind him. He whirled around to see a very different looking kit. She had colorful stripes and the most peculiar eyes. He wanted to get a closer look. So, he hopped over to her.
"Hello, my name is Ronin," he said politely. He stared into her eyes for a moment. "You have stunning eyes!" he exclaimed.

"Aw, don't cry," Nami replied, laying down next to the curled up kit in an attempt to ease her distress. "I'll go away if you want me to." Heck, for all she knew her white, pupil-less eyes could have scared her into tears.

"I do?" Ren replied back, slightly surprised. Then, she looked around at all of the other foxes so see that none of them had any markings on their eyes. "Well, I suppose I do," she said with a small smile. She had never seen another modifox before, so she hadn't realized that there was anything unusual about them. "What of you? Do many foxes have wings?" she asked curiously. "My name is Ren by the way."

Koori watched on as another kit arrived, female this time. She was close enough to hear the kit's question. Going up to her, Koori shook her head. "There are very few foxes with wings," she replied. "They are called Modiphims." She turned to the Modiphim in question. "I'm sorry for eavesdropping," she said, "Ronin, right?" She looked at the other two kits in turn. "And Ren and Hiro? Again, I'm sorry for eavesdropping. I heard you introduce yourselves. I'm Koori and my mate over there is Houka." She gestured toward Houka who was a few steps away doing nothing.
Houka just laughed mentally when another kit appeared. 'This place attracts kits like moths to a flame or something. Wait... then why are Koori and I here?' Houka decided to contemplate this while Koori was talking to the kits. He was snapped back to reality when he heard his name and he walked over to his mate.

Kisa sniffled again and treid to stifle her tears long enough to speak. "No, you don't have to leave. I..." She took a deep breath to calm herself. She was glad to have company, she didn't want this kit to leave at all. She peeked out and tried to smile.
"My friend was supposed to meet me here," she said softly. She slowly move her paws away from her face.

Ronin grinned. "I guess that answers that question." Ronin bowed to both Ren and Koori like a little gentlefox. "It's a pleasure to make your aquaintances," he said charmingly. He then took Ren's paw and touched it to his muzzle in a sort of kiss fashion.

"Ah, ok," Nami replied, finally figuring out why the other kit was so sad. "Well, maybe your friend just got lost. These are pretty big woods and it can be hard to find your way around here."

Under her fur, Ren blushed slightly at the polite gesture. "It's a pleasure to meet you too," she said with a small return bow. "So, a modiphim, ne? Have you figured out how to use your wings yet then? That would be awesome to be able to fly."
