Battleground Selection The screen towering above the stadiums' bleachers began to rotate clockwise to determine what field the pokemon would fight on. Anticipation began to build as the dial began to slow down... Finally, it came to a complete stop. The field of choice was....THE ICE FIELD! The temperature of the stadium suddenly dropped several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifted for the upcoming battle. The floor was made of extremely slick ice, which would make manuverablity, even simply standing, difficult. Crystal-like pillars reached skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field.

Begin Battle! The offical for the matched stepped up the plate, her blue-black uniform easily visible under the brilliant florenscent lights of the stadium. Clutching a flag in each hand, the young woman glanced left and right before making the announcement to start. The melodic voice echoed through the headset microphone and rang out from the stadium speakers. "This is an offical stadium match! Each trainer may use only one pokemon each! There is no time limit! Are both trainers ready?" At the confirming nods from both pokemon and trainer, she flicked both flags into the air; once both flags dropped, the battle could offically begin.

Piney walked up to the battle field and flung the Pokeball into the air. Out came an Espeon, who unlike prevous battles, had trouble with her footing on the icy field and slipped several times before regaining her balance.
This battle had the odds turned againest them, since the Dewgong was part Ice, and naturally felt at home in this shimmering stadium.
But hey. They braved the chilling weather at Inhinx. This should be a breeze compared to that trip.
"Still, don't get cocky now Daybreak..."
((I'll let you send out your Pokemon before starting the battle. ^_^; ))

Raina smiled at the trainer. She had seen her on the journey to Inhinx though never had a chance to talk. Reaching the greatball on her belt she tossed the ball into the air and a Dewgong materialized. "Alright Ayirwen, lets do this!"
As soon as she hit the ice and saw her opponent Ayirwen knew she was in for a tough fight. She might be at home on the ice but an Espeon didn't really need to move to use it's most powerful attacks. She nodded as Raina spoke to show she understood and waited for the Espeon to make it's first move.

"Ok Daybreak! Start things out with a Swift!"
Even when standing still, the Espeon had a hard time trying not to slip. Telling herself that she was thinking about that too much, she concentrated as the cold air materialized into razor-sharp stars.
With a flick of her tail, the stars flew straight at the Dewgong.

"Ayirwen... it's no use trying to dodge just take the attack and counter with a Horn Drill!" Raina cried seeing that the attack was a sure-hit either way.
Ayirwen started sliding forward on the ice, little cuts appearing where a few of the stars hit her but she kept her mind focused on the task she had to complete and aimed her Horn Drill attack straight at the Espeon.
Raina stood with her fingers crossed hoping that the attack would be successful and that Ayirwen wasn't too badly hurt from the swift attack. "C'mon Ayirwen, you can do this..." she said softly though she knew the pokemon wouldn't hear her.

Daybreak's feet slid around, trying to escape, but she didn't have enough friction to pull it off. The Dewgong's Horn Drill struck her on the shoulder, and she slid upward onto an ice ramp. Luckily, she managed to balance herself before she fell off."She better get used to this field or we're doomed..." Piney muttered and clutched the railing tighter. "Use a Psychic attack!" Managing to slip around less, Daybreak stood perfectly still as she concentrated the mental energy into her purple gem.
With a flash, a massive psychic wave blasted through, bouncing off the icy terrain.((900/1000)) ((Dice roll in here))

Raina stood anxiously on the sidelines as the psychic attack bounced around the field. She knew that it would eventually hit Ayirwen, the question was when and how badly? As the psychic attack slammed into Ayirwen Raina grimaced and her mind began racing, how could she counter that and how would she avoid more psychic attacks? "Ayirwen! Use Aqua Tail!" She called out and prayed that the attack would be a critical hit. Ayirwen had been doing well, avoiding the worst of the attack when suddenly it caught her and she was almost sent sliding backward by the force of it. She shook off the effects of the attack and retaliated as soon as Raina said the command. She slid across the ice, her tail glowing blue and when she reached the Espeon she whirled around and aimed her attack squarely at Daybreak's side.[700/1000] Roll is HERE

Daybreak saw the tail threatening to slam into her, and tried to jump over it like a kid would jump over a jump rope. But her legs and movements were still not used to the icy terrain, and she slipped and fell flat onto her belly. Though the slipping did effectively cause her to duck under the Aqua tail.Piney thought that Daybreak's under-dodge was on purpose and cheered her on. "That's it Daybreak! Use a Shadow Ball now!" Standing up and managing to not slip this time, she aimed at the Dewgong as she forced her psychic energy into a murky dark ball. She twitched her tail twice and the energy ball was streaming right towards her.((800/1000)) (( Dice roll here.))

((Eh... yah my brain got fried and I forgot we were in the middle of a battle ^.^' so um... continuing now XDDD))
Ayirwen seemed to let out a sigh, what was with her lately? All her attacks seemed to be hitting off target. If only she could manage a few critical hits for a bit she'd be happy. The dewgong stopped her train of thought as the Espeon managed to slide under her attack... darn it! Turning around she saw the dark ball forming and quickly used her flippers to propel herself out of the way but the ball hit the tips of her tail and sent her sliding off course. She righted herself quickly, being an ice pokemon she was used to correcting slides, and gathered all the power and concentration she could to form one powerful Ice Beam attack that she aimed straight at the Espeon's forehead jewel.
Raina had been watching the happenings of the battle closely calling out encouragement to Ayirwen whenever it seemed to be the right thing to do. Knowing a close attack would give the Espeon time to prepare and counter she called out "Ayirwen! Use Ice Beam!" and watched as her Dewgong obidently followed the command and sent a pretty but hazardous blue beam towards the other pokemon. [600/1000]

((Almost two months later. Nice. XD))
Daybreak ducked under the ice beam, managing to stay still while the beam missed her gem, but struck her tail. Wincing, she realized that her tail was frozen solid and her balance was even more horrible than usual. When she stood up, she slipped and went sliding in front of the Dewgong.
Piney was glad that it didn't get in contact with the jewel, but the frozen tail was worse. Her ability to dodge any attacks would be severely handicapped. Daybreak was a sitting duck basically.
"Swing your tail like a club and nail her!"
Was she actually commanding her to use a physical attack? Daybreak almost went against that order, but she swung her tail anyway, hoping to hit the Dewgong.

Raina restrained a giggle at the poor Espeon who's tail was now frozen and causing her to be even clumsier on the ice than before. "Alright Ayirwen, Use body slam while she's having trouble maneuvering!"
Ayirwen dipped her head as if nodding in acknowledgement before she used her big flippers to propel her across the ice, gaining speed and power as she went and hoping to collide straight on with her opponent.
