Just want to know what you all think.. It is strange, nobody comment. gonk confused
Let's start... I really like this idea. There is good warm tonality.
First what is not too good at my sight, is the crown of the tree. All concentrate attention on this main part: composition, light, arms. But it is just green blob sad . I want to see anything interesting in a leaves, for example playing light, grace shapes, etc.
About arms. May be better if the fingers were slightly covered by leaves from outside. The absolutely bared back sides of palms make unpleasant impression. The tips of fingers is too realistic, then it make dissonance with whole. It forces to think of hands in ordinary context, but not about a elven three. Texturization of hands is not enough to make it like a trunk. It need more contrast texture and more texture details in bottom. Do you already think about shadows on the hands?
I like this few falling leaves. Perhaps it shell to allocate some of them rather far of the trunk for more freedom and movement power.
Grass. Grass is the best part. I love this texture and light spots. It's wind of freedom on your work.
Heaven. It was really good touch about sunbeams. But too big magnification (and poor quality as corollary too) some stifle a volume and whole impression. It must to be big and huge.
The composition haven't any major issues, at my sight. There is the movement to sun, warm feelings. Enough interesting work at all.

Lol I don’t think anyone has posted here in a while, maybe they’re just not checking it? ::shrugs::
About the green blob lol. I’m really new at this. I plan on going back one day and making it a bit more realistic, but that’s sort of out of my “talent range” at the moment. I’ll be sure to send you a copy of it when I fix it ^.^
Also, about the realism of the hands. That’s what I was going for. I actually erased parts of the texture at the to make the arms seem more realistic. Why? Because I was playing off the idea of the Irish Fairy Tree. I heard a few strange tales about Irish Fairy trees while I was over there, about how the fairies protect them, and it’s bad luck to cut them down. I heard of one where they built a mall around a fairy tree for fear of cutting it down. So, there is this mall in Ireland with a huge tree growing in the middle. I heard of another where an entire family went to ruin because they cut one down. Also, their children and their grandchildren are still suffering because of it. I wanted it to seem as if the fairy was supporting the tree, holding it up, and protecting it. Thus the realism.
The background image wasn’t mine lol... so I have nothing to do with the sunbeams, It just seemed as if it was the perfect background for it.. click the link to see where it came from..
