The word “universe” is such a misleading term. Yes…it would imply that in our existence, there is but one plain of reality, only one world in which we inhabit. You see…we exist in what is truly a multiverse. There is the world that we know and cherish, the world that we call home. And then…then there are the worlds that exist parallel to our own; the worlds that lay invisible, nestled safely away somewhere in-between the infinite fabrics of time and space itself. These new worlds, which remain shrouded in mystery, have been written off as myth throughout history. For only a select few have ever had the opportunity to “cross over”. But soon…soon it will be your time.
Now…enter, into the macabre world of Wormwood.

The realm of Wormwood is a twisted and horrific world existing parallel to our own dimension. This land is inhabited by a race known as the Nosferatu, (also known as vampires in our world). In order to survive, the Nosferatu must feed on their only form of nourishment, human blood.
Every year, a select number of Vampires cross into our world, bringing back with them a designated number of humans to be used as nourishment for their race. This act has come to be called the “Yearly Harvest” in the realm of Wormwood.
However, a human who has been harvested and brought to Wormwood is not always destined to die at the hands of the Vampires. Besides a form of nourishment, the humans serve other purposes to the Vampire race in the form of servants, and more commonly, “Hunters”.
When a human is harvested, he or she may request to be given a trial of skill by the current master of Wormwood. Failure to complete this trial would often result in a death much more horrible and agonizing than swift death at the hands of a Vampire. However, if the human should complete this trial, they would be designated a hunter, and be allowed to live. The main duty of human hunters besides being general caretakers and informants for the Vampires is to slay the various monsters and abominations that inhabit the Land of Wormwood, as well as act as enforcers to rival races such as Ghouls and Lycans; all tasks that the aristocratic Vampires feel are below them.
When a human is designated a hunter, they are given a special power or ability. Often, it relates somehow to a special trait or characteristic they held in the real world. Also, Vampire law protects human hunters. To kill a hunter is a severe crime among the Vampires and is punishable by a most agonizing death. Despite all this though, human hunters are still considered inferior by the Vampires, and are often looked down upon by them.
As a player, you must choose to become a human who has been thrust into Wormwood forcibly, or to become a Vampire who calls the twisted realm home. What you choose to do is up to you, but it will take a strong will and an even stronger stomach to survive the hellish dimension.
