I have always been a huge fan of SOAD. I have all their albums. I recently haven't been into SOAD as much as I used to though. But I'm seriously considering buying Serj's solo album. Do you think I'll like it?

I don't know, it's a CD all of its own. There are System elements to it...but he was the voice of System of a Down, so you can't really get away from that. My friend is the same way, she has recently decided that she doesn't like System much anymore, and I've sent her some songs and she doesn't seem to like them because they sound 'like System'.

The Level 8 Gazebo.Hmm... I'm probably going to get it anyway. Serj was always my favorite member of SOAD, and with him slowly becoming less important in the band, I'd like to hear something focused on him.  No one can help you.

Get it, get it!
If you love Serj's voice you'll love the album. Especially if you love his poetry too.
It is like System in places but only in good ways.
And anyway, if you don't like it you can always sell it or give it to someone for Christmas - why deny yourself the option of trying it?

The album is much cool but i think that SOAD with that theme as well would make so much better i F*cking miss malakian's guitar

There is definetly an absence of Daron. You feel it, but in some ways I think it's good to hear Serj without listening out for your other favourite band members. Even if the high pitched backing vocals reminded me too much like someone doing a comical Daron impression.

I just bought the album with bonus track and music video of "Empty Walls". I've listened to a few songs so far, and LOVED them. The video was especially good. I'm so glad I got this album. It even renewed my love for SOAD. But to be honest, I don't mind Malakian's absence in Elect the Dead.

I'm so glad I got this album. It even renewed my love for SOAD. But to be honest, I don't mind Malakian's absence in Elect the Dead. Well I've always liked Daron too, but my love is all to Serj. I think Serj can take things more seriously like he wants. I remember reading somewhere that Daron wished that Serj would kind of 'chill out' and not take things so seriously. So Serj can take it to any level he wants. I liked Daron's guitar work and back-ups, but hey...things change for better or for worse.

Well its absolutely worth the money. There's no doubting that. But ill admit it isn't from what you would expect from SOAD. Serj is great, but it just isn't quite the same.
