Although Sungura adored venturing into the roguelands and escaping the structure of the pridelands, he found it more and more difficult to have his small daughter follow along. They had found themselves in so many dangerous situations that he was attempting to put a value on his exploration, opposed to the safety of his daughter. So far they had remained unharmed, but he feared there might come a time in which he wouldn't be there soon enough, or they might run into something much more dangerous.
Glancing back to the small hare beaming up at him, Sungura offered a half hearted smile. It would be so difficult to end their trips together as Kutulia enjoyed them incredibly. And while she shared the many stories with her sister Mnyama, she kept to her word and didn't worry her mother with their near escapes. As Sungura had observed, Kutulia was indeed beaming up at her father. She was so proud to be taken on the many adventures as she understood that this meant her father trusted her and enjoyed her company. Thumping her small feet as she ran up behind him, the small hare giggled and spoke, "I hope we don't run into a big scary monster today!" And though she was serious in that she didn't want to be harmed, she hoped she might find something new. Mnyama would enjoy another story, she thought.

She thought she saw some rabbits and she thought that she might be friends with them insytead of eating them. walking over to them she smiled at the two who seemed to be related. "Hello there, don't be afraid of me, my name's Sierra." she told them gently as to not scare them.

Sungura saw the form of a large, orange serval making its way towards both he and his daughter and his eyes became wide with fear. It seemed just like his luck to bump into a large cat-like creature. Memories of his encounter with the black serval re-entered his mind. He had never shared it with Kutulia and Mnyama because of how much it frightened both he and Cheshi. Even the brave Sungura was no match to being chased into a small hole and nearly eaten alive!
Stopping where he was, he thudded his foot onto the ground as a sign to his daughter that things were not alright. By the way that Sierra spoke, it was obvious she had a clear site of them. How did he not see her so near them?
Kutulia felt the vibrations in the ground and paused where she was. The large cat before them was beautiful! Interesting markings decorating it's whole body. It was smaller than the lion, but not by much. With wide eyes, she offered a shy response, "You won't eat us?"

Sungura was not pleased that the serval before them was laughing. He wasn't sure just how what she said was humorous and why their fear would be mocked. The rabbit continued to stomp his foot now, but more from anger than to warn his daughter. The small rabbit near him, was held onto by two firm, black paws that were not willing to part with her. Sungura would defend his daughter, even if it meant giving his life to do so. If this serval spoke the truth, however, then the two of them would be safe to leave quietly.
When Kutulia felt herself be suddenly grabbed by her father, a big white lip stuck out to pout. "Aww.. She said she wouldn't eat us! Can't we find out what she is or something! I've never seen such a funny looking kitty! Big ole ears and long skinny legs!" The white hare giggled to herself at the description of Sierra.

"would you rather i chased you instead?" she asked the older rabbit with a slightly mean tone in her voice.
"I'm a serval" She told the baby with a grin for her.

When the serval threatened Sungura, the hare's ears folded back and he thought about what the other hare had told him. Hares were natural boxers and perhaps this serval needed to be shown how well a father hare could protect his young. When Sierra looked down to Kutulia, he stomped his foot again aggitated. She seemed to have changed her tone with his daughter, but the male was still worried. He wouldn't let his guard down with Tuli and find out that he had made a mistake. "I would rather you leave the two of us alone!" He snapped. Having become a father certainly made Sungura even bolder than he was as a child.
Kutulia, super impressed by the large cat in front of her, was completely ignoring her father. Leaning out a bit, she pet the cat on the leg to feel how soft her fur was. "A serval? What's that! You kind of look like a lion, but not realllyyy..." The hare was fascinated.

With wide eyes, Sungura watches as the female serval stomps her large paws and takes off. The hare feels an inner pride for scaring away, or at least bothering a predator to the point of leaving. He had protected his daughter as he wished to, though looking down, he wasn't quite sure that was the right thing to do.
Without even a chance to get her questions and comments answered, Kutulia frowns as the serval begins to walk away. What a chance to speak with such a majestic, beautiful animal! With eyes filled with tears, the pale colored hare looks up to her father and sticks out her bottom lip. "B-but.. I just wanted to talk to it! She seemed nice enough!"
Feeling immensely guilty for his actions, Sungura's ears fall to the side of his head and he begins following after the female serval, careful to make sure that Kutulia remained where she was and didn't follow. "Excuse me. Excuse me," He said politely, trying to get her attention.

she almost stepped on the older hare as he tried to get her attention again but she snubbed him and thought that he deserved it.

Sungura's ears remained lowered in frustration as he continued to follow after the serval in the hopes that she might turn around and he could get her attention. Guiltily glancing in Kutulia's saddened direction, the hare frowned and continued to chase after Sierra. "Please! I apologise for my behavior! It was simply that last time I met a serval, it tried to eat me!" He was far off from Kutulia that she wouldn't hear, but still worried that the story might reach her. "If you could only stay for awhile longer and speak with my daughter. I would be rather appreciative.." It nearly hurt to speak so kindly to a predator that typically ate his kind, but Sungura swallowed his pride and kept chase.

Sierra stopped short as he promised he wouldn't get mad at her but stopped for the smaller one and she looks back to where the other hare was and smiled at her and the older hare too. " Really? Some one like me?" she asked the two of them.

When Sierra stopped, the hare's body skid to a halt. He didn't want to run into the large creature before him when she already seemed incredibly peeved at his earlier antics. Watching as she glanced towards his daughter, he wondered if perhaps this creature was willing to get to know them better. As he and Cheshi had done with Memetuka, perhaps they could make friends and better protect themselves.
Nodding and speaking quietly, Sungura continued the conversation with Sierra, "Yes. Another serval like yourself. This one was strange though.. he was black colored. I've never seen one like that!" The hare shook where he stood, remembering the horrible memories of the chase and how difficult it was to protect Cheshi when he was so scared.
When the serval stopped, Kutulia bounced in the air and giggled to herself. Her father had stopped the feline just for her to be able to speak to it! Waving her small paw in the air, Tuli began to bound towards them so she could talk to the serval sooner.

"ooh my gosh I'm so sorry." she told them and she sounded truly sorry. "I know the male black serval because he runs my clan of servals that I'm in." she told them both.

Sierra had done nothing to harm Sungura or his child while they were in her presense, but this news absolutely startled the hare. Servals were beginning a clan of their own? Last Sungura heard, the felines were very solitary creatures and typically kept to themselves. Shocked at the mere thought, he once again grabbed ahold of Kutulia. She did not know of how dangerous these creatures could be and the father hare was not willing to allow her to find out. Perhaps Cheshi had a reason for remaining in the den. Certainly after all the trouble they had found themselves in, one day Sungura would learn.
"I appreciate your apology, Sierra, but it's about time Kutulia and I head home. Thank you for your time.." The hare spoke in a hurry and began to take a few steps backwards to signify that he would soon be leaving. "Hopefully your clan goes well.." The hare gulped, frightened at the idea of having so many servals nearby. Perhaps that area was not the safest for him to raise both Mnyama and Kutulia. He would need to speak to Cheshi.
Although Kutulia was used to being grabbed ahold of and raced back home, she was still caught off guard and squeeked lightly. She was glad that the serval had returned, but when the female started to apologise, the small hare cocked her eyebrow, much like her father often did. "Huh? I don't get it.. Are we leaving already?"
Sungura nodded, "Say goodbye Kutulia. Mother is probably worried..." And as his daughter waved her paw, the hare darted off at a very rapid speed. Dust clouds came up in the air around them.
