 (( Forgive me for the bad RP title. XD *blanked out* )) Her tail flickered against her flanks as she stared out over the plains. It was starting to get dark earlier... Leaves the color of the feathering around her hooves were falling and she had been told that winter would soon be here. Winter meant cold... But she had a feeling that she wouldn't have to worry too much about that. Afterall, it had never been a real problem before.
She leaned down, nipping at the blades of grass nearby. It was still crisp, suprisingly... She expected it to dry out soon. Would food be harder to find come winter? No, she wouldn't worry about that either. Her mother and father would help her if she needed it. They always had.

 ((it's okay I've come up with worse)) There was a happy beat in the cream stallion's walk today. It had been a while since he had arrived in these lands but it felt like almost no time at all. Most would say it was because he spent most of his time with others but in reality he'd just been getting used to the new customs this place had. Yet every day there was still something that surprised him. He lifted his head and glanced around freezing suddenly. Like that. That was new!
Not far from him, a quick minute and a half run, was a black mare who seemed to be on fire. She didn't seem to notice the flames but that worried him. He wanted to run over and put out the flames but some how he got the feeling that a strange stallion charging wouldn't help the situation.
How could she just stand there, the heat had to be intense. "Quick!" he called racing forward, unable to watch any longer. "Quick roll on the ground or something!!"

Her eyes went wide as the strange stallion charged towards her, shouting. What was he talking about? Roll on the ground?
She stepped back to keep him from running into her, giving her head a light shake as she shook off whatever shock she might have felt at being charged at. "Why on earth would I want to roll on the ground?" Her brow furrowed as she stared at him. "Why don't you roll on the ground? Is that always how you greet someone?"

"Wha? No..."He said looking a bit put out. She really didn't notice that she was burning? "You're on fire!!! Your mane...your tail!" He gestured at her frantically afraid to get any closer, one because of the flames and the second because the mare looked like she might beat him. Unable to bring himself closer he did the next best thing switching from leg to leg trying to get a grip on himself and the situation.

"I'm wha--?" Her brow furrowed a bit further until realization settled in, a slight smirk curving her mouth. "You mean this?" She gave her tail a gentle flick, flames seeming to dance along with the movement of silky tresses. "That's nothing... Just a little flames. You're not afraid of fire, are you?"

"Yes I mean that!" He said eyes widening slightly in shock. She knew? She knew she was on fire but she didn't care? Did she set herself on fire or something? "I am most certainly not afraid of fire." He said still staring at the dancing flames. Did it not occur to her that being in flames was just a bit strange and would draw attention? "Doesn't it...? Well doesn't it bother you even a little? I mean it hurts doesn't it and well...obviously it must burn! You're okay with that?" What a very strange mare she seemed to be, not that many mares weren't strange.

"Why wouldn't I be okay with it?" It didn't occur to her that he might not have seen anything like it before; not when she had a mother, a sister and an aunt who all shared that in common. "It doesn't hurt at all... And it doesn't look like it's doing any damage, does it?" She would be rather upset if it did. She liked her mane and tail. "I've always been like this."

She'd always been like that? His first thought was how the basket didn't burn up or if it had how many had she burned through. "No...you seem perfectly fine. It seems I've jumped to conclusions." While he said it he clearly didn't mean it. His face still exclaimed that he was confused and slightly annoyed. She was being very rude about this whole situation. Anyone who saw her would have done the same thing. Perhaps not in the same manner, rushing in and shouting, but it wasn't every day you saw something on fire. Certainly not something that was okay with being on fire aside from wood.

"If you did then I did. What seems natural to me apparently isn't to you." She had forgotten, somehow, that not everyone was as blessed and other members of her family were. Although, she wasn't certain how she could forget... What with her father and her other sister...
Her smile softened slightly as she glanced up at the stallion. "I thank you for your concern though, as unnecessary as it may be. Do you have a name?" She wasn't trying to be rude... But lack of social interaction outside of her family left her conversational skills rather... Lacking.

So she did have manners. That was a relief, he didn't want to mess with another brat of a mare. He opened his mouth to apologize once again but decided that would be unessicary. "My name's Xantir." He said to avoid looking like a fish. "Who might you be?" He'd always hated this part in a conversation. Introductions seemed a bit long winded, all the 'how do you do's' and 'pleasure to meet you's', they were unessicary. He'd much prefer to skip them all together but that would be bad manners.

"Ember." She smirked, orange eyes gleaming. Her name was rather obvious as far as she was concerned... It explained everything in one word and she had a feeling that few would forget it after seeing her along with it. "... And now that's out of the way... What brings you out tonight, Xantir? I've never seen you around here before." Not that she herself had been out this far before... But he wouldn't know that.

"Ember." He repeated committing the name to memory. It seemed obvious now but then again there were tens of thousands of names out there so there really was no way to guess. "It suits you well though I'm sure you hear that all the time." He cast a small but kind smile her way covering his real feelings. While it wasn't a 'how are you' it was close enough and somehow it was annoying. Perhaps it would be better for him to get out more so these greetings didn't seem so strange. After all only seeing familiar faces wore the habits out of him as far as social graces were concerned.
"I'm a habitual wanderer." He answered simply. "That and not far from here is my home. What about you? Do you live near here or do you wander here. Or...perhaps there is another reason you're here?" He assumed the latter of the options was just plain silly.

"You might be surprised by how few times I've heard that." She smirked, giving her head a light toss. She might hear it more often if she started going out more... Or introducing herself to others more.. But that would be in time. All in due time.
"My family resides not far from here; my mother and father along with one of my other two sisters." And herself, of course... But he needn't know just how nearby she lived. She could easily just be visiting. "I am wandering tonight. It seems like a fine night to do so."

He was indeed surprised but he tried not to let his shock translate onto anything external. He wondered how often this girl got out. She wasn't used to people saying she was on fire, that was apparent because of her reaction to him, and few had ever told her that her name suited her? She was on fire! Embers were fire, why wouldn't someone day her name suited her given that fact? Puzzling over these facts were giving him a headache so he decided to let it slip from his mind for now.
"So you're visiting your family? That's very kind of you." He said wondering if he should ever go back and visit his. After only a moments thought a clear no floated in his mind. "I'm sure they're glad to see you." He wanted to ask why she was wandering away from them at night like this. He supposed it was possible that they were asleep but didn't family's normally stay up all night together when they were reunited. He knew Luna's did but who was he to judge?

Visiting... Still living with them... Close enough. "Yes. They are... Father is, at least." He seemed to enjoy knowing that his family was still safe. Mother, on the other hand? She still wasn't entirely sure how her mother fit into everything beyond being the one who gave birth to them and teaching them some things about the flames that licked along their mane and, in some cases, hooves.
"I enjoy the nights though... Being out in them is nice. Everything seems so much brighter at night, doesn't it?"
