Ankita was tired of not taking part in the festivities. After all, she can dress up too, right? She asked the few people who would stop as she stood by the side of a route where she could find the closest costume shop and managed to find her way to a smaller one. The shop owner was a very kind old woman who enthusiastically helped Ankita find a costume and get into it. And the decision landed on a fairly (overly) frilly green dress, ordained with flowers of all colors and types, and an autumn toned pair of fairy wings onto her back. Ankita sat patiently as the old woman fussed with her hair, added some barrettes and flowers to it, pulling it back into whichever what direction.

God, I really have to be trusting to let someone do this to me.

The woman seemed quite ecstatic when Ankita stood in front of her, and she could only assume that the tight embrace was a good sign, and that she hadn't just been played a fool.

She took her cane, wandering out into the mass of celebration, being stopped every now and then by the random passerby who made her do a twirl. She couldn't see what she looked like, but this whole skirt thing was significantly fun to wear.

After not much deliberation, Scarlett had decided to get dressed up. She loved decking herself out in ridiculous garments…. even when it wasn’t Halloween. Inspired by the ‘majestic’ white peacock, Scarlett decided to adorn herself in white feathers and pearls. Scarlett, who was known for her frothy locks, had surprisingly straightened her tresses for the occasion. The flattened hair felt light against her back. She couldn’t help but shake her head once or twice to reassure that her hair was still there. Her eyes and lips were dipped in gold as her cheeks were dusted with shimmer. The costume itself wasn’t the most comfortable, but Scarlett was used to things riding up, digging in and puckering out. The outfit consisted of a white one piece that dipped very low, a gold sash around her waist, and a long white tail.

As Scarlett ambled down the street, her feathered tail wobbled behind her. It was quite heavy but it certainly had its effect on her confidence... No wonder peacocks were such arrogant assholes.

This town of Halloween certainly had its quirks. Everyone was dressed up 24/7; it was like stepping into a childhood fantasy where a little girl could really become a princess. At this moment Scarlett felt golden. Her eyes scanned the parameter. Ahead of her sauntered a familiar fairy in a green dress. Scarlett remembered the girl from the circus, she had seen her walking around twice or thrice…and to think she knew everyone. The woman had to be from Cirque, who else would ever end up here? Soon enough Scarlett sped up a bit to catch up with the fairy. She went as fast as her 6 inched heels would carry her.

“Do I know you from somewhere?” She asked in a flat voice. Shockingly, Scarlett didn’t sound as threatening as usual.

The sound of heels on marble were more than enough to catch anyone's attention. Ankita turned slightly in the direction of the sound wondering what could make anyone run like that in anything that made that kind of noise. She shrugged at the question. She was fairly certain she hadn't heard the voice before, or if she had, it was most likely in a clattering of conversation - hardly discernible.

"I don't know, do you?"

Scarlett started wheezing terribly from the run, her heart was beating fast as her lungs were dying each time she coughed. This is what I get for smoking.

She had no clue why Ankita appeared so recognizable; Scarlett was sort of preparing herself to be horrified by some ghoulish face when she ran up to the woman. Yet, she was pleasantly surprised to come upon a nice…clean, face? The real question was why Scarlett actually ran up to her. Scarlett thought on this fact for a minute until she realized that she felt lonely tonight. Every street corner was occupied by either a couple, or a group of friends celebrating the festivities. Plus, Halloween wasn’t meant to be celebrated alone…right? Who would she share all her candy with! It wasn’t a crime to try and make a new acquaintance, right? Be nice for one day in 100 years. Plus, this girl appeared harmless. Wasn’t she dressed as a fairy?

“I don’t really know either, do you live here or are you just visiting….” She managed to spit out between huffs and puffs. “Could you be fro—“ No, could she? “I mean…”

A snort of amusement escaped Ankita as she listened to the huffs and puffs. From the sounds of the foot steps, those shoes didn't sound much like running shoes. So why on earth would this girl be running towards me?

Ankita shifted her whole body to face the direction of the voice, one ear turned more so.

"Just visiting. With my job and all. ... Why?" And for a short moment, her mind assumed the worst. Please don't tell me something happened at Cirque. Please. Please. Please.

Scarlett hunched over for a second, and with one big cough she was cured.

“Well, I’m here for my job too and…. I could have sworn I have seen you around the Circus grounds.”

“I’m Scarlett, Scarlett Au Clare- Bedeau. Maybe you’ve heard of me? My troupe is having a show here, you should come!” Scarlett managed to ramble out nervously.

With a hesitant smile, she reached out her hand, totally oblivious to the fact that the girl who stood in front of her was... blind.

This kindness thing makes me look like an a** Scarlett thought as she forced the cheesiest grin she could make.

Ankita flashed a large smile when she heard the girl was also apart of Cirque.

"I'm from Cirque too! I'm Ankita! Ankita Ruskin. I do fortunes and palm reading and stuff like that." Unfortunately, Ankita hadn't heard very much of Scarlett. The name itself sounded familiar, but she wasn't very sure what the girl did. "It's nice to see so many people from the group out for this! I'm starting to run into so many people I didn't even know were apart of it!"

Scarlett drew in a bit closer to Ankita. “Really?” She questioned in almost a whisper.
Scarlett was entering this new phase of her life that demanded change. Secretly, Scarlett had been looking for this girl. The world’s strongest man (who Scarlett often ‘met’ occasionally) had told her of this strange character that could read fortunes and to him. “She was the real deal” Ankita was exactly what Scarlett needed.

“Could you read my fortune?” Scarlett breathed in deeply, her voice ringing with desperation. She didn't know what was happening to her, but Scarlett felt safe enough to confide in this girl... everything. Right now all she wanted was a friend. It seemed so strange to Scarlett that she was actually capable of, well, feeling.

Scarlett's cheeks soon began to grow hot with embarrassment, she had just met the girl for gods sake and was already asking so much from her.

(sorry for being so sappy lol)

Ankita could feel the girl getting closer to her, and leaned back ever so slightly. She had never met someone who seemed so excited to meet her.

"Uhm. Sure?" She said, nervously. "I. I don't have my cards on me right now. But. I mean, we can run back to my trailer and get them?" Was that really a wise decision? Ankita couldn't help thinking to herself. You don't even know this girl, and there's got to be _something_ up for her to be this happy to run into you.

Scarlett noticed Ankita lean back, and with that sheepishly scooted back. “Sorry…”

“Really, are you sure because we could do it another day and….” Her voice sounded relieved, and almost happy. Yet, Scarlett couldn’t hide the fact that she felt so stupid right now, why was she acting way? Scarlett hadn’t even attempted to bite this girls head off yet.

"It's okay." she said, as she leaned into her original positioned. She smiled half-heartedly in hopes that she didn't hurt her feelings.

"Really, it's okay. I don't have much else to do at the moment." she shrugged slightly. "Besides, it'll be good practice. I don't really want to get rusty, right?"

Ankita's hand reached out for her shoulder, giving her a reassuring pat. She was almost half glad to meet someone who seemed so enthusiastic at her abilities.
