___Halloween always had been Grete's favorite holiday. And the fact that Cirque stopped in Halloween Town was even better. Being in her trailer by herself, she had decided to put the finishing touches on her Green Fairy costume before she went outside her trailer. Of course, she always could go outside as she was now, but really. What's the fun if all of the details aren't perfect? Smiling at herself in the mirror, Grete decided to add a little more green eyeshadow, and then she glanced around the room. She was forgetting something.
___She wasn't exactly sure what it was, though. Let's see. She had done her make-up (and had some little green sparklies in her hair and dusted on her bare shoulders for good measure). She was wearing her long flowy green dress, and white stockings, and her little green wings. Ah ha! Shoes. They were green and high-heeled, and damn were they going to hurt after a while. Oh well. It was time to go out of her trailer at this point, and show off her costume. Of course, she wondered if it was too much. She wondered if the long slit in the side of her dress was too long. Once outside, both of these fears were put to rest. Everyone, so it seemed, went extremely over-the-top for Halloween. Good. Smiling to herself, Grete closed the door behind her and walked down the small steps.
Looking around and admiring all of the costumes, Grete thought she saw someone familiar walking by.
"Charlot?" she raised an eyebrow and smiled at him. "Well, hello, stranger!"

"G'damn dress..." Charlot growled under his breath, kicking his left foot to get the bits of black fabric OUT from under his boot. He turned at the sound of a voice, eyebrow cocked up into his hair- which was IN HIS FACE... due to the fact his hat was.. not part of the costume. (Sad.) His expression fractured into a smile, happy to see a fine pair of........... eyes.
"Grete!" He paused to take in her appearance, smiling appreciatively at the fairy costume. Not bad, not bad at all. "Y'look like absinthe."
He grabbed something from inside the door, making his way carefully down the two steps to the ground level where she was standing. His tall figure was draped in black robes, hands gloved to match. A hood was pushed back around his shoulders, lined with black feathers. A masquerade style mask was pushed up on his head, carved like a skull to cover his eyes when pulled down. He was totting a large scythe and as he came to a halt he hoisted it up and over his shoulder to rest comfortably.
"Y'on y'way t' enjoy the festival?"

Smiling at the familiar man, Grete quickly pulled her dress up, just slightly so it hung around her ankles, so it wouldn't drag on the ground as she took a few small steps closer to Charlot, and then dropped her dress back to its regular length. Hell, it had been a long time since she had seen him. Grete's eyes quickly gave him a once-over to check out his costume. When he mentioned her resemblance to absinthe, Grete gave him a smirk and a wink.
"Nice call. You don't look to bad yourself, you know," She nodded, complimenting him on his well-thought out costume. She supposed that she never really thought of men going very into the whole Halloween dressing-up thing, but obviously, they did.
"Indeed, I am going to the festival. And, based on your appearance, I'd be willing to bet that you are, too," Taking another step closer to Charlot, Grete intertwined her right arm with his left, linking them together. Looking up at him (despite the heels, she was still short. Damn.), Grete raised both eyebrows. "So, we can both make our way there together. It'll be a wonderful time, you know." Frowning, she added, "They'd better have something good to drink there. I haven't had anything all day."
Drinks or not, Grete would make sure not to be too torn up about it. She was determined that she would have a good time at the festival. Grete glanced around at all of the costumed people near her and began to think about what the festival would be like.
"Let's see. We can go there, get some drinks, check out the festival, get some more drinks, and see what else should occur. It'll be fun." Grete glanced up at Charlot again, "That sound like a good plan to you?"

Keen observation, He murmured to himself. Charlot wasn't against having a beautiful woman clad in costume gauze and fabric against him, no not at all. He accepted the compliment with a smile, dropping the scythe to the ground so he could carry it like an axe in his hand.
"Now- that sounds loike an excellent plan," Best he'd heard all night, actually. It'd been a while since he got royally smashed and well, this seemed like a great time to give in to indulgence. "Let's get on withit, aye."
He flashed her a wink, moving forward into the crowd of people that roamed the streets of the heavily decorated (but actually quite normal for the place) streets. Everything smelled like pumpkin spice and candy, heavily doused with smoke and a few vendors selling strange skewered meat they claimed to be 'monster bits and bats'. He'd pass, thanks.
"...Nnn, 'ow about this pub?" He raised the scythe, pointing toward a hanging sound a few paced ahead that read, 'The Laughing Corpse'. Had a classy sort of tavern name.

"I think this one will work just fine," Grete said as she nodded, unlinked her arm from his and walked towards the pub. Swinging the door open (and holding it open long enough for Charlot to come towards it), Grete happily looked around inside. It had been quite a while since she'd actually gone out for drinks. After all, most of her drinking went on in the comfort of her own trailer, and even if she did want to go out, she certainly didn't want to go alone. Who would?
After choosing to take a seat at a round booth in the dimly lit bar, Grete took a moment to arrange her layers upon layers of skirts before trying to decide just what she wanted to drink on this night.
"Anything sound particularly good to you? I'm not even completely sure what they'll sell here..." Glancing about in order to see what everyone else was drinking, Grete noticed that a few of the beverages did look unfamiliar. Hmmm. Well, Grete wouldn't turn down a drink, so she figured she might as well try something new. She mulled this over for a moment before glancing up at Charlot.
"So, it's been a while since we've talked. How've you been? Anything exciting happen? Any torrid romances or brawls I should know about?" She joked, a smirk on her face. "Oooh, I wonder what that is," Grete thought aloud as a waitress dressed like a zombie (or maybe she really was a zombie. Who could tell?) walked by with a tall glass of something. This was already shaping up to be more entertaining than anything that had happened to Grete lately. She could just tell.
